Fault Description : Only the on button seems to work. Suspect the remote is water damaged.

This bathroom controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed not to be responding from many of the buttons.
On opening there were many corrosion points on the print caused by water damage. The print was reworked which restored all functionality.
Please note that this item is not waterproof and care must be taken to prevent further damage.

Fault Description : It will not switch on properly. Switch-on is a double press of the On button and there is a faulty connection somewhere, I can hear the control box clicking but the push button light will not stay on.

This caravan mover control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have an intermittent power on function.
On opening a test was carried out and the power contacts were reading high in resistance. The facia was peeled back and there was moisture contamination under a few of the buttons, probably due to condensation.
The facia was cleaned up and dried out which restored normal functionality. It is important to store this item in a dry area to prevent future issues.

This control for a Surround sound system - receiver model VSX 921 arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have various non functioning / sluggish buttons.

On opening this was found to be due to wear on the button conductive pads. The pads were recoated conductively and this restored full functionality.

Fault Description : The remote only works within 18" of the amp. The backlight doesnt work. Battery terminals are rusty.

This Denon control arrived safely and on testing the remote was very limited on its range as per the customers fault description. Also the LCD display was not backlit.
On opening the terminals were confirmed to have signs of contamination due to a leakage. This leakage had amassed over the PCB (see image).

The PCB and button array was given an alcohol bath to remove all contaminants. The range issue was found due to be the IR LED being faulty, a replacement was fitted and the control then had a good strong range (the testing video shows it working close up due to recording restrictions but the handset was tested and was found to work across a large room area.)
The back-light on the display unfortunately cannot be repaired due to a lack of parts for the led back-light.

Eventually this was found to be a faulty ic (HSC301). When a replacement was fitted the control was found to be responding from its button presses.

Fault Description : UP button on remote lights the LED and is received by the receiver and causes the gas fire flame to increase but the DOWN button lights the LED on the remote but is not received by the receiver and does not turn down the gas supply to reduce the flame. All batteries changed and examined by BRITISH GAS SERVICE ENGINEER who was unable to resolve problem. Gas fire can be operated manually on and off and is safe to use.

This fireplace remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a faulty channel. This was found to be due to a faulty 40khz crystal in the receiver.

This was replaced and full functionality was restored.

This caravan controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed not to be lighting up of responding sporadically on the power double press.
On opening a few issues were found, the first was the LED and its 1k feed resistor had blown, replacements were fitted. The next issue was that hte buttons were reading high in resistance, all 7 buttons were replaced.
Finally there was no rf aerial present which meant that the range would have been limited, a aerial cable was fitted.

The battery block was heavily corroded due to a battery leakage. This was causing erratic voltage to get to the PCB. A replacement battery block was fitted which restored normal functionality on both channels.

Fault Description : Beeps all the time as if fault. We thought caravan battery dead so bought new but still beeps we’ve replaced remote batteries, Duracell but even when van hooked to mains still beeps. The only time works is when wiggle batteries with cover off.

This truma control arrived safely and on inspection the battery terminals were showing signs of corrosion due to a previous battery leakage.
The terminals were cleaned up and re-coated but the remote still was intermittent.
The issue was found to be due to the PCB mounting clips being broken, the control was opened and the pcb remounted. This restored full normal functionality

Very good service. When no-one else could help in the repair of the remote for my aging Mission Powered Subwoofer (not even the manufacturer), they stepped in with a quick and no fuss repair. Highly recommended.

Sent a Gazco remote and receiver. Expecting to be told they couldn’t be salvaged. Was ready to spend over £200 to get a new one supplied and fitted elsewhere.

Fantastic, personal service. On this occasion my RC remote control could not be fixed. However Remote Fixer went out of their way to help try the same day so i could try and 'save Christmas ' as it was part of my son's main Christmas present. Excellent, fast, cheap personal service. We had left batteries in Truma caravan mover remote control over the winter which had corroded and caused terminals to break off. On phoning was assured it could probably be fixed. Posted item to Remote Fixer on Monday 12th March, was contacted Friday 16th to say it was fixed (all terminals replaced) and paid £26 which included return postage and received back Monday 19th. Can't thank these people enough, saved a lot of money and hassle to replace remote mover handset. Thanks

My remote controller was for a complicated massage chair. I filled in a job sheet online and posted that off together with the remote. When received I had a call from Martin to double check what the problem was. He had the part in stock and it was repaired and returned the next day. Fantastic service.
