Renshinkan Shukokai Karate-Do

Renshinkan Shukokai Karate-Do is a karate club located in Bearsden where traditional Japanese Shukokai Karate is taught in a safe, and friendly environment.

Shukokai Karate, a dynamic form of karate that is suitable for all. Male or female, young or old, no matter what your level of fitness, you will benefit from training in Shukokai Karate, a karate system that is practical and effective in real life situations.

Renshinkan Shukokai Karate-Do located in Bearsden was established in 1993 and is still going strong today.

Classes are well structured, following a realistic but challenging syllabus designed to help take students from beginner to black belt and beyond. Karate offers excellent opportunities to meet and make new friends and to participate in a variety of karate events and activities.

Our Instructor, Shihan Lindsay Smith 7th Dan Kyoshi, is a qualified SKGB Level 3 Instructor whose studies of Shukokai Karate began in 1972. Over the years he has amassed a wealth of experience and has visited Japan on a number of occasions in his quest to study the traditional methods practised in Shukokai Karate and to accurately replicate those methods and approaches to his students. Lindsay enjoys sharing his passion, enthusiasm, knowledge and skills to his students in Bearsden.
