Here we were asked to remove the old window cills and continue the mouldings of the jambs down to create a bigger opening for patio doors to be fit. We then fit new steps and bullnosed them. Two Restoration projects have finally reached completion. We were asked back in September to work on two Churches in Liverpool. Our work would consist of cutting out selected pieces of Ashlar/Coping stone/ tracery window/ hood mould/ string course and replace with newly masoned pieces. Re fixing sections of copings arches and a new Gargoyle 🧝🏻‍♀️

Current project completed at Stone Cross Mansion in Ulverstone on behalf of Maysand LTD. We were asked to clad a section of the stone mansion which was previously rendered and match in with the original building. Burlington limestone was sourced for the cladding along with a buff sandstone for the window surrounds and string course. Each piece of the 20 course section was tied with 2 stainless steel fixings and dowelled into the piece above. The string course was fixed with a side fixing and dowel. We are extremely pleased with the outcome 😁😁. #stonemasons #stonemasonry #fixing #cladding #RVS #Limestone #ulverstone #cumbria

Our last months project photos.
We were asked to rip out and restore a section of stone steps and radius walling in the Stonyhurst College Gardens. The section of steps had been out of use for over 20 years .
We dropped both walls and ripped out all 50 steps. A couple of days ground works commenced before the start of the rebuild. We fit all the steps before starting with the radius walling, we also cut out parts of bad damage and indented new pieces in. ... New caps were masoned which will have carvings fit on (yet to be decided) everything cleaned off and pointed. A very satisfactory job for us and are pleased the steps can now be used by people visiting the College gardens. #RVS #Ribblevalley #Stonemasonry #Stonemasons #Restoration

Kendal Town Hall our latest project for the past 8 weeks on behalf of Maysand LTD. A restoration project that consisted of numerous new indents to the string course, cornice, fluted panels, corbels, pediment and the hud moulding around the clock face. We were also asked to fit a new Egg and Dart course around the full top section of the tower. Towards the end of the job we also re laid sections of mosaic flooring to the entrance of the hall. #RVS #Stonemasonry #restoration #kendal #cumbria

The job description:- We were asked to rip out an old heavily damaged loft window set which was believed to be causing damp in the room below.

Well that’s pretty much it for RVS this year, this last job at Jack's Of Whalley is now complete and the scaffolding down.
