This day is also known as Raksha Bandhan and celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravana in India. Rakhi is considered as stronger than iron chains as it binds the most beautiful relationship in an inseparable bond of love and trust.
Rakhi festival also has a social significance because it underlines the notion that everybody should live in harmonious coexistence with each other.

Wow! Just got back from visiting on the recommendation of the lovely Karen Riley - Proprietor of CRAVE outside catering. The range of curries, accompaniments and sweets you sell is incredible! With the guidance of the extremely helpful Alec we enjoyed a taste sensation before coming home with a bagful of goodies. (Thanks Alec!) As everything is vegetarian it’s absolute heaven for me!! For anyone who loves Indian food RK Sweets is an absolute MUST visit.

Vegetarian Indian food, savoury and sweet snacks available.



I’m vegan and stopped here for tea (dinner). There was free parking available around the back.



The vegan savoury options were delicious and the vegan sweet options were ok.



The staff were friendly and happy to help out explaining all vegan options available. There was plenty of choice and the price was extremely reasonable. I got a thali (tray) of 2 curries, a curry sauce, a rice and rotis. I also got a dal wada plus took one of each of the vegan sweets. Altogether, including £1 for takeaway it cost £8.40.



In my tray I opted for the chickpea curry which was ok, a cauliflower curry which was spicy and delicious, the pilau rice which was yummy and the curry sauce which was also nice. The rotis were good too. The dal wada was tasty and spicy too!



There were a lot more vegetarian choices sweet-wise than vegan, but still there were 6 vegan choices of sweets. I tried them all:

1. Jalebi - tasty but greasy

2. Kaju roll - nice but had silver on the outside and green in the middle which made me feel there were more chemicals and colourings than necessary but apart from that they were ok.

3. Kaju katri, nice and texture of marzipan/icing taste slightly coconut-y, not too sweet.

4. Bundi ladu extremely greasy!

5. Fig and nut praline, ok but greasy.

6. Wasn’t labelled, he said it was ‘kesar’. Similar to kaju katri.

I wouldn’t get any of the sweet options again.



I would definitely recommend people to come here for savoury food!

The best curry in Preston - sshhh!! We love the quality and taste of their excellent curries and other food. Who needs meat! :)

Thank you so much for providing the catering for my wedding on Saturday 12th July in Birmingham. There has been nothing but an influx of very positive comments from all our family and friends who attended the wedding. In fact, guests are still complimenting the food and service a week after the event. So once again, thank you ever so much for a fab job - you are highly recommended to anyone out there who is looking for a catering company to provide the food for any event! You certainly won't be disappointed

So glad we found this place it is absolutely fantastic the staff are so nice and helpful and the food is so good.

Oh, well. We went here for the first time and we were absolutely amazed. The staff - Alec, that served us was so nice and polite, showed great knowledge of all foods in there; we were able to have testers, to decide which meal is best for us. Food tasted gorgeous, portion size was just right, the price was more than acceptable. The dinning area was clean, so were the bathrooms. Overall a great experience and we will definitely visit again.

Just had dinner at RK's. Haveing fractured my right hand finger means I can't cook for next couple of months. Being vegetarian and Gujarati, I was missing my traditional Gujarati meal! We have been to RK's before, several times, but today I noticed they started to make their savoury milder. We so enjoyed it, especially rice and dal. Thank you.

Had another amazing take away from RK Sweets for dinner last night. Best saag paneer in town and that Manchurian Gobi is amazing!! Hands down the best Asian food in lancashire!!! ��

Great place, feels like back home with all the variety of pure veg dishes, savoury's and snacks. Friendly service and well presented. So glad they've come to Bolton.

Friendly staff, really tasty food, yummy sweets and blimey the limbu sherbet and passionfruit juice were delicious too! And really well priced! <3

Fantastic food, every time I visit I take a selection back to Bournemouth with me, friends and workmates insist on it.

Decided to try for the first time today and loved the noodles and cheese balls...can't wait to go back and try some of the other fantastic looking food �

Brilliant food...everything was delicious and fresh...just one thing...service with a smile wouldnt go a miss...apart from that we will be going again...amazing place

Cholay bhatura is not up to the mark

First visit and hopefully not the last. Great vegetarian Indian food, not the usual greasy, indistinguishable slop of the high-street curry house but subtly-spiced and tasty dishes with a huge choice. Very friendly, helpful staff too. Would have been a 5* review but docked a point as I winced slightly at all those single-use plastic thali trays, drinking straws and cups going into the waste bin - surely something more sustainable could be an option? Good old stainless steel perhaps?

A regular to RK, being a strict vegetarian, it cater' s for all our family needs, A little gem, never dissapointed.

I love the food here its amazing. Sadly the service sometimes let you down. I waited in line only for people to push in and get served before me. Staff all didn't ask for help when the line got big. Felt a bit ignored today.
