Last week we were pleased to present a cheque for £1000 to Dementia UK ambassador Paul Gibbons, who visited the hospital on behalf of the charity. The cheque represented the money raised by our 'Time for a Cuppa' event on 25th July, which was organised by hospital secretary Beth Howard, who is pictured here with Mr Gibbons.
A huge thank you to our very generous staff, clients and the Rossdales partners, who supported this event by coming along and enjoying a vast array of delicious home made cakes and a cup of tea or a glass of Prosecco in return for a donation to this worthwhile charity.

Thank you Jules for spreading the word about this far and wide. If it stops one more horse having to go through what Savannah did it will mean something positive has come out of this tragedy. The Clements Equine leg of the inaugural Elite Foals Registration Tour took place yesterday at Manor Farm in Bardwell near Bury St Edmunds. The series has been developed to simplify the process of registering foals in the UK, for both studbooks and breeders, while encouraging quality sport horse breeding in Britain.
Against a backdrop of glorious sunshine, 27 foals were presented for assessment before a panel of international judges from a number of British and European stu...dbooks. There were some superb foals presented in categories for Eventing, Showjumping, Dressage and Ponies. The winner of the Championship for each category will now go forward to the National Championship in September, where substantial prize money will be on offer.
Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons stud farm vets, who work closely with the team at Clements Equine, presented talks on artificial insemination, semen collection/analysis and embryo transfer and then carried out microchipping of many of the foals after they had been presented to the judges.
Thanks to Elite Foals for organising this exciting new initiative and to Clements Equine for hosting an excellent event. We look forward to the next one!

At this time of year, more cases of headshaking are reported to our vets than during the cooler months. Headshaking can occur for a multitude of reasons and these cases can be complex and require a multidisciplinary approach to investigate any underlying conditions that may be causing the clinical signs. Treatment options will depend upon the results of the investigations. If a diagnosis of ‘trigeminal neuralgia’ is made, this may be treated medically or with EquiPENS™ (pictured). This is a relatively new technique that has been shown to alleviate the signs of headshaking in suitably selected cases. Find out more on our website.
