A tough weekend in the #Lakes courtesy of #StormCallum, but whilst #Grasmere was briefly cut off, our guests could still enjoy a glass of wine in the garden, here at Rothay Garden Hotel

just returned from an overnight stay, fabulous room with a balcony and river view! And food was to die for! very friendly professional staff and beautiful location,will most definatley return highly recommended!

Wow! This hotel is truly a hidden gem. Our mini break was just what we needed and we couldn’t fault the hotel, the rooms, spa, garden, staff or service they were all faultless. As for the food all we can say is outstanding, we had dinner both nights as had been totally spoilt the first night and knew nowhere else would compare. It will definitely be top of our list for a return visit. Thank you Rothay Garden our stay was perfect �

We have just visited Rothay garden hotel for our 25th wedding anniversary lovely hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly the food was delicious and the staff made our pudding with happy anniversary was very nice the spa was lovely we would stay here again

We have just returned from a 2 night stay and I could not recommend the Rothay Garden Hotel highly enough. The room was lovely, the facilities are top notch and the staff were all friendly and attentive.



The food in the restaurant was absolutely beautiful, the setting is fantastic and we will definitely be back for another stay in the spring.

We had a fantastic stay for our wedding anniversary. The staff were so helpful and very accommodating. The evening meal was amazing, topped off with a surprise special anniversary dessert arranged by the lovely staff. The spa facilities were brilliant, so relaxing with amazing views. The room we stayed in was lovely, the king size bed was extreamly comfortable and the river view was great. We will definitely be returning in the new year. Well done to all the staff for making our stay and our anniversary a memorable one! 😊

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Rothay Garden, this time for my wife’s birthday celebration. The hotel as usual set extremely high standards, the accommodation and food were excellent and the hotel staff are second to none due to their friendliness and willingness to please. We will certainly be back to stay here again.

The most wonderful break to celebrate our silver wedding - two days for the two of us then two days joined by our nearest and dearest. The staff were fantastic - knew just how to make you feel at home but make you feel special. Loved the food and the spa .......I certainly didn't want to come home

Superb food, excellent room, great service and wonderful ambiance. I’ve not felt so relaxed in years. Perfect spot for hiking right from the door, come back and relax in the spa and then enjoy the culinary delights. The chefs really know how to cook. From a right fussy pair not one thing I can fault. Worth every penny. 😊

My husband and I have just returned from Rothay Garden as a treat to each other for our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a fantastic time from the minute we arrived. The staff couldn't do enough for you providing exceptional service. The food was delicious and we even enjoyed breakfast in bed! We are already planning our third trip!! Just stayed at Rothay Garden for my husbands birthday and can not fault any of it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, next to the river. We had the 4 course evening meal and it was superb!

Just returned from our 6th stay at the Rothay Garden which says a lot! The combination of location, beautiful rooms, excellent food plus being able to relax in the spa after a day on the fells topped off by attentive and friendly staff mean that we will continue to return. We have been fortunate to also stay at the Gilpin and the Samling - both are superb but the Rothay Garden's excellent balance between relaxed and formal along with the relative value for money make it hard to beat. Thanks to Chris and all the staff for making our latest short stay as enjoyable as ever.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. Great location, hotel is warm, inviting and spotlessly clean. Rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Enjoyed our time in the spa each day after walking. Restaurant is fab, great food and friendly efficient service from all staff.

We will definitely return soon.

Just left the Rothay Garden Hotel and already thinking about when we can come back. A beautiful hotel with lovely rooms, gorgeous food and the most professional and attentive staff we've come across in a long time. Special thank you to Elliott for helping us with his hints and tips for our scafell trek :) loved having breakfast in our room with the river running by and thoroughly enjoyed the spa facilities. A great place to stay.

Just got back from our honeymoon here. It was amazing. Such a beautiful hotel in amazing surroundings. The staff were amazing and very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The spa facilities were an added bonus. The view from our balcony was mind blowing. The food was superb could not fault it at all. We had the breakfast and evening meal. It's the most relaxed I have felt in years.

It was our first time at the Rothay and it won't be our last. It's a beautiful hotel with charming staff & good food. I would recommend it to anyone that was looking for a tranquil weekend break

Excellent food compliments to the chef all the staff are amazing . The only thing was I wanted to book a treatment and she wasn't in that day so don't expect a massage otherwise this place is beautiful
