Cracks in an ivory face occur where the head mortise is cut too close to the edge of the bow head when the tip becomes loose and a hairing wedge exerts pressure outwards on the tip material sides.

Restoration and remodeling of a good nickel mounted violin bow head by Alfred Knoll c.1950, after a disastrous tip replacement.

A rehairing job with interesting "add ons". A worn out eyelet, frog to underslide issues and general accumulations of dirt from years of use!

Poor old Viktor's half sized cello with a "mystery" crack in the table, I don't usually do repairs to "outfits". They are surprisingly difficult! and generally not economic. But what do you do for a broken-hearted child?
