A guest who stayed with us on the 13th January 2014, sent us this photograph of the view from his bedroom window. Manchester Piccadilly does look amazing at night when the wheel is lit up!

Join us in Manchester as the city celebrates the Chinese New year in spectacular style!
China Town in Manchester is one of Europe’s largest, and so the New Year celebrations here are the largest in the North! The year of the horse will be welcomed with a series of events that begin later this month and end with a jaw dropping parade.
On the 18th January Manchester city centre will receive a make-over with more than 3,000 Chinese lanterns being hung throughout the streets. T...hen from the 30th January to the 1st February ST. Ann’s Square will be the home of the Chinese food market, with a whole host of mouth-watering food to sample and purchase.
Finally on the 2nd February to mark the Chinese New Year, the incredible Dragon Parade will take place. This year the paper dragon is a staggering 175 feet long! And there will also be a lion dance, martial arts demonstrations, art workshops, a fairground and a 15 minute fire work display.
With all this excitement taking place in Manchester why not book a short stay with us? First time I've stayed at Sashas. A few friends told us to cancel and stay somewhere else. I'm glad we didn't. The hotel wasn't as bad as everyone made out. They moved out room instantly when we discovered we were in a non smoking room. Decor very outdated, but the room was a decent size & clean.

We made use of the facilities and even enjoyed a few drinks in the bar. We've decided to get the gym membership as the facilities were just what we were looking for. We will definitely be coming back again.

User

Why haven't you updated your website?

It's shameful that a so called good hotel doesn't bother to update staff too, or us the turnover of staff too great to be able to keep up with?

User

Stayed for the night while attending the little mix concert room was fine shower needed bit of fixing but maintenance was straight onto it so happy days would stay again handy for everywhere room wasn't ready when we arrived so went to bar Ronan (that was supervisor from Portland Street hotel ) covering someone that was sick was a pleasure to be in his company good banter and very friendly great asset to your company

User

The thing that comes to mind is you get what you pay for . We also left a expensive item in the room and rang up 1 hour after leaving and needless to say did not get it back the staff did not seem to care would not stay here again

User

Arrived late at night drunk girls sitting outside. At reception drunk girl n guy arguing with receptionist (not hotels fault). Did make me feel unsafe though. Stayed in room 302. Roomed smelt musty/damp. Couldn't sleep much. Paid extra for breakfast. Served 7 Am -10 Am. wasn't open at 07.20 when I went down. Waited approx on mins only to be told no black pudding or boiled eggs as they weren't ready. Everyone hing and as dried out and tea and as freezing.

Cane back from trading course Monday night desperate to use the ladies , only to he to make room and be late fled out. This happened the 2 new nights I stayed although I booked and paid for 3. I won't go internet the state of the windows or how crisp the showers are. This must have been a beautiful hotel about 20 y ars ago and staff are very friendly. You get what u pay for.

User

Worst hotel by fare , we had read all the bad reviews unfortunately after we booked , not one good review , but we thought £42 what can you exspect , well how wrong were we , carpet completely worn away in bedrooom , no window s , air con broke , seriously you can not breath , it's that hot and stuffy it makes you ill and bad headaches it's that bad (no joke ) shower gel watered down to the max , no travel cot in room for our doughter , mould all over shower and not the stuff that sinks into the rubber , the stuff that just wipes away if they had bothered to clean , tv didn't work , hotel is tatty and very dirty , no idea how it looks so well on the pics , the toilet runs water 24/7 so sound is bad at night time , and to top it of we had noisey neighbours on both side , I have run out of space to write for the rest of the faults , please don't waste your time and money , travellodges are a palace compared to hear

User

Well where do I start!!! Dirty bathroom, flys in bedroom and dirty glasses. It’s bad when I was shocked to find the room had an iron and iron board!! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone

User

Well what can I say about this place shower didn't work room looked like it had just had work done and not finished so I will not be staying there again I would disappointed if I was part of the management to this hotel I think you need to have a look and do some work to it

We stayed here on Tuesday just passed as was over for the United game. We soon realised not everything advertised on the website could be taken for granted as we found to our cost. Wifi was advertised free but only for 20 minutes thereafter there was a charge of £7 for 24 hours, the food offered at lunchtime was a set menu only and no other food was offered in it's place or accommodated too. There was only one bar open and they stopped serving drink at 11pm and no residents bar, for a hotel we couldn't believe it and thought it was a joke!. Upon entering the room straight away we noticed half of the carpet was discoloured due to what looked like dampness, the floor covering in the bathroom was lifting, the architrave was cracked and missing, the bathroom sink was blocked. And when having a shower or bath the door had to be fully closed otherwise it would set off the fire alarm thus causing an evacuation of the hotel. Also the carpet near the table and tv had not been to cut properly and left the underlay exposed, the tv was so tiny would've been better off sticking to my mobile phone. Out of the 2 lifts available only one was working and we were on the 4th floor. When we had breakfast we weren't asked by either the waiting staff nor reception staff if we enjoyed it and everything ok, same situation when checking out we weren't asked if we enjoyed our stay and safe trip home. Professionalism & politeness doesn't go along way. Will definitely be recommending friends & family NOT to stay here and avoid at all costs would've been better of sleeping out on the street. Definitely does not warrant the price to stay here

User

We booked a room for 3 nights.... they wouldn't let us check in as only I had photo, we had to sit in the foyer for about an hour waiting to be checked in..we missed most of the first night of pride ...£300 for a room that has no window... aircon broken hot and stuffy bathroom filthy .... holes in the wall of room stains all over bed and carpet...the man on reception was arrogant and thought he could treat us like rubbish!!! Unknown substance dripped all down the walls , dated , shabby and beyond dirty... I wouldn't let an animal stay here...certainly won't be staying here again.... the actual brittania hotel maybe dated but at least the staff there aren't rude .... don't advise anyone to book sachas hotel

User

This is the worst hotel by far, I had booked two rooms, one for my daughters and the other for my husband , son and myself. Omg the room was disgusting, you stuck to the carpet, we had flown in from Tenerife, so it was about 1:00o'clock in the morning. My daughters had to be moved three times, beds not clean, pubic hair in them, blood on sheets, and the dustbin had blood in it. We eventually all stayed in my room just literally staying awake the whole night, we couldn't get another hotel as by this time it was three in the morning. What a way to end a fab holiday in Tenerife

User

The room was terribly uncomfortable as it was so hot. The air conditioning was bearly working. I requested a fan not once but twice and had to go to reception at 4am. When I got the fan that wasnt working properly.

User

Shocking ..Four young girls from South Wales turned away because there was a 17 year old amongst them ..they had booked ahead for the rooms and were turned away into a massive city leaving them vulnerable and frightened .

They had arrived for a festival and now faced with having to find accommodation miles away which will mean £100 taxi fees to their event ..

They were totally stressed and were told by the manager that it was his discretion not to let them have their rooms and he had decided not to let them stay and to stop making such a fuss as they were still breathing!!

No compassion at all !

The female staff in reception were also quite unpleasant in manner ..

Reading previous reviews ,it is a wonder that head office has not addressed what is clearly a very poor standard of hotel ..

Shame on you Sachas .

Highly unrecommended !

User

Rooms are dirty, standard is poor, staff talk amongst themselves when your trying to check in, car park is miles away, room had no windows, general first impression when I entered was that it was dirty, floors were dirty. The lift, staff asked customers to get out because it had reached its weight limit.... there was 4 people in that lift! The writing on the signs was insulation tape. Cheap hotel, overpriced for what you actually get. Glad we only stayed one night.

User

Only giving a 1 star as I can't give any lower! I've just been told how 4 beautiful young girls from South Wales had booked this hotel months in advance for a festival they were attending to get there and be turned away! The attitude on the manager was absolutely abysmal! The customer is always right! Maybe the manager and staff should go on a customer service course or better yet shut this vile hotel down.

User

I book last minutes. Location was great! Staffs was friendly. Clealiness.. OMG the 2nd room i changed..while i went in to the toilet open the lid it full of blood,so i try to flush i down twice the water kept coming up i'm worried tsunami will gonna hit me. So i changed another one..the room got damp smell.Luckily i only stay one night. I hope the management can do something about it

User

Disgusting way to treat a group of young girls, you agreed to the contract that they booked under! You can’t change the terms for a specific weekend and then turn them away! Disgusting, avoid at all costs!

User

Absolutely shocking behaviour of both staff and management. Agreed to booking, changed prices and contract agreement the day of arrival despite numerous communication beforehand. Absolutely disgusting. Would avoid ever booking with this hotel, no care, no morals and no customer service!!!

User

Absolutely disgusted by the way my daughter and her friends have been treated on arrival at this hotel. This was booked months ago with lots of correspondence between the girls and hotel, where they were assured all details were covered and fine for their stay. To be turned away this morning when they have travelled From South Wales in a place far from home with nowhere else to go! The manager was nothing but rude and disrespectful and spoke down to these girls with a filthy attitude! Have you no compassion when these young girls were crying to you, really upset, not knowing what to do or where to go when they had a booking confirmation with you?? You tell these young girls "To stop making a fuss that they are still breathing"!.. Really? Not very compassionate or professional! To say I'm furious is an understatement and will be taking this further, you have upset these girls unnecessary on the grounds of power and greed and didn't care if they were left on the streets!... Avoid this sham of an hotel at all costs!!!!!
