An interesting thesis written by Zara McDonald 2005 raises many questions on the intentions of reverts. She comments; ‘women whose interest in Islam that is not founded on belief, soon stop coming for lessons and often reject the idea of Islam altogether’ p123
... There are many researchers who question the intentions of converts reason they convert , putting it down to social or relationship pressures, trends , rebellion, pathology, because ‘daddy wasn’t there’!
However the Quran accepts all reasons to convert to the truth and that the shahadah is the beginning of the journey. It doesn’t matter what brought you to Islam the question is now your here what’s going to help you to stay?
