About Salford Astronomical Society

Salford Astronomical Society is based at Chaseley Field Observatory which houses an impressive 18. 5'' Newtonian Reflector telescope gifted to the society in 1971.

We welcome everyone to the society who has an interest in astronomy.

Salford Astronomical Society Description

We are a varied group of individuals who all share the same passion for Astronomy. There are a number of different interests in the group from imaging to rockets and plain old viewing.
Our observatory houses an 18. 5" reflector, relocated from Jodrell Bank over 40 years ago, where it was used to do lots of scientific work.
Throughout the winter months, as well as meeting and viewing, we also organise regular free lectures on atronomical topics at Salford Unversity.

New members always welcome!
