Due to the high demand for outside seating on our beautiful, new terrace we are no longer taking reservations for these tables.
They are now available on a first come first served basis. However, if the terrace is full and you would like a table we can add you to a waiting list. Equally, if the restaurant is full but there is an available table outside it's at the manager's discretion to accept a booking on the terrace.
... If you've already booked a table outside for the upcoming couple of days we will of course hold that booking for you.

Last night my friend and I attended the Birkdale Distillery gin tasting evening in aid of Parkinson's UK.

The welcome was warm, restaurant looked beautiful, the food was perfect, plentiful and lots to choose from. We tried pizza, garlic bread, meatballs (would love the recipe), chicken livers, crostini, cured meats and there was so much more to feast and nibble on.

Birkdale Distillery main man, Damian was engaging, informative and to find out that he is funding his own research into a certain area of testing relating to neurological diseases quite literally humbled me. Please support Birkdale Distillery, not only do they create fabulous, complex gins but you are also supporting this research. Win, win!

We were given a gin, prosecco and elderflower cocktail on arrival (I'm going to try that at home). The scoresheets were given out and the sampling and rating of each gin, 5 of them began.

Great atmosphere, our eventual scores helped to decide Salvatore's Ristorante house gin...I bought a bottle to take home.

It was a real family affair and they couldn't have been more welcoming.

Thank you Salvatore's, I will be back soon.

Called in with the family this Sunday afternoon, fab deal for adults at 2 courses (choice from extensive menu) at only £13.90 and kids ate free, really good food, freshly prepared and excellent service, we will be back!

Arrived on-spec at a busy period on a Friday night and expected to be told no chance! you haven't booked! Nice surprise when Salvatore himself greeted us and said no problem and gave us a nice table for two.

Food was excellent and the wifes rissotto was superb! We asked for a bottle of Sancerre which was out of stock but Salvatore personally picked an equivalent he thought to be superior and he was spot on! It was crisp and dry!

Excellent atmosphere and polite staff, we shall be returning very soon

2 courses for £16.90, we went to Lime Bar first brought our receipt over to Salvatores and they give you a free garlic bread. Duck spring rolls were lovely, goats cheese parcels amazing, main courses of chicken and pasta were really good! We were fed and out within an hour and a half, didn't feel rushed, good service and brought the food out quickly. Take your receipt from Salvatores back over to Lime Bar and you get a glass of fizz when you buy 2 drinks :)

Lovely food and great service. Only downside was 35 minute wait for our table (we had booked in advance).

The food is good, the staff are all lovely but the house rose wine is vile. It's supposed to be Pinot blush but it tastes like vinegar. This needs sorting.

They messed up our booking and they weren’t ready for us. They were slow to take our order. Food was ok. Steak came without veg or chips. By the time they brought it out the steak was cold. Rushed us through as they needed the table and said if we wanted dessert we’d need to eat it at the bar. Very rude staff and will not be rushing back without an apology.

Honestly I'm surprised there are so many 5* reviews! Staff nice enough but food just so average bordering on bland- this was my 3rd time in about 5 years and I always say never again but it's local so I gave it another shot. Nothing positive other than the nice staff.

Very disappointed, the main man arguing with fellow diners is just not what I want to see! He also tried to charge for an extra meal and the young girl waiting on was rushed off her feet with very little help and shouting from the kitchen at her! A real shame as the food was lovely but the atmosphere was not! Menu wasn't explained properly at all over what we could have on the 2 course deal and the shouting as we were waiting to pay the bill made us very uncomfortable.
