From Friday 1st February 2019 we are increasing our consultation price (which includes the visit) from £39.98 to £44.98. This includes around a 30 minute (Vs the usual 10mins at most vets) visit from one of our experienced and friendly vets.
Our in-clinic price remains at £31 for a 20 minute no-rush appointment.
We have not had any price increases since we opened in 2016 but as the costs of fuel and motoring expenses continue to rise we unfortunately are having to slightly i...ncrease our fee's for our home visit service.

Here at Sanderson Vet we are very proud to be both independently owned and passionate about providing our own out-of-hours care.
By doing this for our clients we can have access to their full medical records and ensure they get continuity of care and the highest standards 24/7.
Our out-of-hours service means clients who are registered, and active, you get your own vet all the time and can get the care you need from vets you know and who know your pet.
... If you are not registered, and active, we would recommend you use your usual vets out-of-hours service as they have better access to your usual practice for sharing histories for example but if you prefer we can see you, though there is a surcharge in cases like this.

* PARVOVIRUS WARNING *
In the past 10 days we have had 2 dogs referred to us suffering from Parvovirus, and septic.
Whilst one is fully recovered (he was fully vaccinated so the prognosis is often better), the newest patient (who was due to start vaccines when she became ill) remains critical and in our isolation unit.
... Both dogs originate from the Birkenhead/Seacombe area and were sent to us by their local vet.
This disease can cause vomiting and bloody diarrhoea, with secondary sepsis and dehydration common.
If your dog is suffering from these kind of symptoms, please contact your vet immediately.
Prompt treatment makes a huge difference which is why at Sanderson Vet we are available 24/7 to our registered clients. In times like this it is invaluable knowing you get your own vet whatever time day or night.

Worries over!!! Sanderson vets - Richard came out at 8 last night and gave Oscar the once over. He had not eaten for 24 hours!!!! He eats constantly if he can!!!! He is back to form this morning - a little self conscious after the thermometer was placed up his ......... but he’s better.

When my cat has been missing for 6 weeks I was worried about taking him to a vet being so weak. Richard came to the house spent time getting to know charlie and treated him just as I would think he treats his own pets. I have now moved my puppy to him as well �� both my animals are happy to see Richard and I couldn't recommend him enough �

When Richard and Sara moved to Whitfield Business Hub where I work I immediately switched my dog and 4 cats over to Sanderson Vet. This wasn't just because of the close proximity to me but it was due to their expertise, knowledge and professionalism. I just knew they would be in good hands as it's clear they are both very passionate and caring. Richard has visited my home on a few occasions for vaccinations, check ups and on one emergency occasion late on a Saturday night. Having the vet come to you is completely stress free for both you and your pets rather than put your cats through the trauma of travel and then visit a strange place as I'm sure anyone will agree! My dog absolutely adores Richard and Sara and has no hesitation in visiting the surgery. They invest heavily in their surgery to ensure they can provide the best care the industry can offer. Very compassionate and professional service from Richard and Sarah. My cat Millie was given the best possible care and although the outcome was sad, she was very poorly and got to pass away peacefully in her own home. I am registering my dog Minnie ASAP and would recommend this service to anyone.

Richard and his team have really looked after my pack the past few days, I wouldn't of been treated the same any where else. Always at the end of the phone any time of day with any queries or emergencies. Deffinatley kicking my self for not using them sooner. Highly recomend

Our 17 yr old cat, Thomas has an over active thyroid. Our previous vet took blood from the jugular, which is the norm, Thomas screamed in agony. When we brought him home he was very traumatised and took many hours for him to trust us again. When he needed more medication I contacted Richard explaining how traumatised Tom was after the last bloods and said we didn't want any taken. He and Sara and one other whose name I can't remember came to the house, within a few minutes blood had been taken and Tom didn't know what had happened. It was so quick and painless for him. He even sat next to Richard on the settee and was purring. Such trust is immeasurable. We highly recommend Sanderson vets to anyone who cares deeply about their pets welfare. My pooch had a bad experience and is terrified of the vets by ours. He was instantly disliked at the last place and for such a softie it was heartbreaking. So we called these guys out. No rushing on the home visit. Sully was happy and loved his visit. Let the vet give him a good look over, his injections and his nails cut. Suffice to say we won’t go anywhere else.

My beautiful dog Lulu had gotten a rash on her back 7 months ago, she had multiple tests & prescriptions from her previous vets & ultimately nothing serious was diagnosed. Over the next 6 months her rash spread & she became bloated, but was otherwise a healthy, happy, lively, 9 year old dog.

My friend recommended Sanderson Vets & given Lulu's rash was still apparent I asked Sanderson Vets for a second opinion.

On our first meeting, just one week ago, Richard & Sara visited our home to see Lulu. After some observations & examinations Richard had to break some heartbreaking news to me. My little girl had a massive tumour growing on her liver. To say I was devastated was an understatement.

Within 3 days Lulu had a scan & several X-rays showing the tumour was possibly operable. After some discussion we went ahead & the operation took place within a week of her original diagnosis. I'm over the moon to say Lulu's operation went amazing & she's currently sat on my knee snoring away & she's recovering well. It was shocking to find out that the tumour removed was over 1kg.

Although Lulu still has some recovering to do I'm in no doubt Richard, Catherine, Sara & the team at Sanderson Vets have saved my girl from a lot of pain & ultimately a early death.

Couldn’t ask for a better vet. Such a lovely guy and his passion for animal care is so apparent. Rolo (a choc lab cross)is absolutely in love with him and when she needed an operation yesterday I had no worries about handing her over to his care.he put my mind totally at ease and made the whole process so much less daunting.
