Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them...The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-...Maj worlds.
We also have the ultimate Christmas film - It's A Wonderful Life, surely part of everyone's Christmas tradition!
Juliet Naked is based on the book by Nick Hornby and is the story of Annie (Rose Byrne) who is in a dead-end relationship with self-centred boyfriend Duncan (Chris O’Dowd). She wants more from life, and seems to be getting it when she begins a secret online relationship with reclusive American rocker Tucker Crowe (Ethan Hawke). Trouble is, Crowe is also the object of Duncan’s lifelong fan-boy obsession.
We also have a final chance to see the excellent First Man and The Wife (Glenn Close is amazing...) and our Savoy Arts film is Shoplifters

What a week - films, events, exhibitions, musicals all on the big screen - A Star is Born is tipped for the big Oscar, A Simple Favour is just a great twisty film with two very compelling female leads - Blake Lively and Ann Kendrick are both brilliant. We have an Encore of Alan Bennetts new play Alleluyah, Funny Girl the Musical and Sarah Brightman on stage. Blackkklansman and Black 47 are history retelling at its best and we have a final chance to see Crazy Rich Asians. O...ur exhibition on Screen is Degas.

Mr Bean...sorry Rowan Atkinson...is back as MI7’s loose cannon in Johnny English Stokes Again with matinee shows all week for half term.
Adapting a Booker Prize-shortlisted novel seems like a surprisingly safe choice for Lenny Abrahamson, after the confines of Room and the subversive weirdness of Frank. But there’s something strange and slippery about his adaptation of Sarah Waters’ The Little Stranger that reveals it to be a better fit for the director than you’d imagine —... something off-kilter and unsettling...
And The Predator is back, minus Arnie but with an even bigger mate...

We welcome the Fast Anchor 2018 Film Festival back to the Savoy Saturday night at 7pm - a chance to view short films from local and international film makers - a great event and includes a drinks reception!
Crazy Rich Asians has been an international hit with great reviews - fabulously indulgent and OTT but interesting and poignant.
Emma Thompson is superb in The Children Act and Taste of Cement is a powerful documentary that looks at the plight of Syrian migrant workers by... weaving the construction of a tower block in Beirut with the destruction of lives back home.
Lucky is the last film made by Harry Dean Stanton Lucky and is a profound, wry, slip of a movie carried by Stanton’s moving performance. It is a fitting curtain call; one of America’s great character actors might just have saved his best for last.
Seagul is an interesting adaptation of a classic play with Annette Bening, Elisabeth Moss and Saoirse Ronan
We also have final chances to see Mission Impossible: Fallout, Christopher Robin and Mamma Mia!

Emma Thompson stars in Children Act as a High Court judge must decide if she should order a life-saving blood transfusion for a teen with cancer despite his family's refusal to accept medical treatment for religious reasons.
We also have Spike Lee's poignant 'BlacKkKlansman', which tells the unbelievable true story of an African-American police detective infiltrating his local Ku Klux Klan. There'a few more chances to see the wonderfully uplifting 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again...' as well as Incredibles 2 for the kids (and not so kids...) and Ewan Mcgregor as Christopher Robin.

User

This place is just great! If you haven't been - do it soon!

User

This is the first time I've been here today and I'm totally impressed with the venue. I thought the whole place was fantastic. A hidden gem! Just wish it was closer to my house, but I will certainly be coming back to see films.

User

Thank you to Louis and the amazing team at the savoy today for accommodating an extra little one for us at your popular and sold out Paddington 2 show today! The little girls we took thought they were VIPs and as always we throughly enjoyed it. Our favourite place . Wishing you all a lovely Xmas

User

Paid for a premium seat but felt I was too far back, asked the chap could I move to a normal seat and he said of course. The next minute he taps me on the shoulder and hands me £1.50 - the difference in the seat price. It hadn’t even entered my head. This sort of care for patrons epitomises The Savoy. The service is fantastic and the staff are brilliant. Great selection of drinks and all at a reasonable prices. You just can’t fault the place! Excellent.

User

My disabled husband and I ( and my sister) visited yesterday to see The Happy Prince and were treated with such kindness and helpfulness that I’d like to publicly thank the young man ( I’m sorry I don’t know your name ) for making our experience so gentle and enjoyable

So .. thank you

User

I went for the first time last night with my son to watch Dirty Dancing and it was amazing. Absolutely beautiful surroundings with lush, comfortable seating. A real local gem which I will definitely be returning to.

User

I love the Savoy, its amazing not only can you have a glass of wine or whatever takes your fancy, coffee, cake, beer ect., the surrounds are really cool, very 1930's with lovely sofas for couples!! Im old enough to remember what real grown-up cinema was like, this is better!! they show up to date films and if your a member to get 1.50off plus two free tickets each year(4 if your couple) best of all the owner is drop dead gorgeous, something to go to the cinema for!! Come on give it a try, you won't ever go to the Vue again!

User

User

First visit tonight to The Savoy can't believe I haven't discovered it sooner!!! Such a lovely venue and we had a great evening watching Dirty Dancing. Can't wait to come back again, keep up the fantastic work, if only all cinemas were like this!!

User

First time I've visited the Savoy since the upgrading renovations. Very impressed with the cinema and its staff, all of who were pleasant and helpful.

User

Classy, comfortable venue; superb Customer Service - and, as a patron with disabilities I really appreciate that the extra help that I need is provided with no fuss in a pleasant, practical way. Going to the Savoy is a great night out. Relaxing, great range of refreshments and terrific value for money.

Highly recommended

User

Brilliant venue. Very comfortable and friendly

User

Beautiful renovation! Art Deco / Vintage & real treat for the eyes :-). Luxury finishing touches such as Savoy printed mugs for coffee & hot chocolate to take in (no plastic waste), cardboard popcorn/sweet cases, a luxury lounge in reception for all, white soft material individual towels in bathrooms, great cinema seats with lovely lil mini table for drink/popcorn.

The sound system was perfect (disliked Odeon & Printworks 'blasting out')!

I watched 'Walk with me' & will def be back again within a month xxxx

User

Amazing place, great vibe, fabulous cinema and independent to boot. Recommend it to anyone who hasn’t been. Give it a try you won’t regret it.

User
