Grading Week is upon us... No More Hiding! Make sure you're in your best bib and tucker, ie Suited and booted, ie uniform and belt. Appearance as well as attitude, spirit and technical ability carries marks!

My job is teaching Jiu-Jitsu, please take your junk home with you or at the very least use the bins provided. Thank you, Steve.

Grading week for all juniors will commence on Sat 8 Dec through to Sat 15 Dec. These will be the only dates when gradings will take place so make sure that you get to one of the five Little Ninja or Junior Jiu-Jitsu classes during that period.

Following the Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov fight (UFC 229) people wanted to discuss my opinion on how it all went down. I dont know why as I am not MMA, I dont follow it, I watch it ocasionally to check out any Jiu-jitsu that might be deployed. I teach more kids/juniors these days than I ever have and as such my mindset and message does not align with the sport at all. I came across this video and the Gracie Brothers reiterate my opinions in a much more eloquent way than I could put it. It is an abridged version as the original video was half an hour long.

What a great pleasure it was for me to award Nat Wallwork his Purple Belt last night. Even though the turnout was quite shabby by usual standards, the guys who sparred with him certainly pushed him and drove him out of his comfort zone, making the grading a tough one (what we have all come to expect). He put in an outstanding performance, which I was in no doubt would be the case. Nat has been with me for 14 years or so. A little Ninja then Junior Jiu-Jitsu and on to Adult... Jiu-Jitsu. He has been an absolute stalwart as an assistant coach and the Scorpion Kids love him to bits! He is also highly regarded amongst his adult JJ peers. He is about to embark on the next leg of his life’s journey, Uni beckons! After straight A’s in his A levels I know that he will do well. He is well mannered, focused, determined, disciplined, ward working, reliable, humble... I can go on and on! He is a fine young man and this club will certainly feel the loss when he goes. I wish him well, great success and hope this message won’t embarrass him too much... I’ve got a video that will do that, watch this space! 👊🏻🥋👊🏻

The kids lessons are great, my son has been going for 4 years now and love, it is never a proper weekend without a game of zombie tig

Steve and the guys are great with my two. Lessons are fun and the kids learn very valuable skills. Cant recommend highly enough.

Scorpion jiu jitsu is brilliant for kids they help them learn through games. My son benefits greatly from the experience. The staff are amazing very knowledgeable about jiu jitsu and great with complex issues the kids can sometimes present.

My two boys aged 13 and 15 have been attending for only a few weeks now but they absolutely love it. Everything from the instructors to the vibe is brilliant.

My son has been at the club for nearly 2 years. He is 8yrs and this has taught him about respect, discipline and how to deal with other boys in the playground if they get a bit rough. Teachers are great, he has fun and learns at the same time. Great life skills !!!

My son Tom was in yr 4 when the bullying started.Tom enrolled at Scorpion Jiu Jitsu and in the 2 years he has been attending the bullies do not bother him anymore.I can highly recommend this friendly,welcoming club to any parent who maybe experiencing the same thing.

My son Lukas has been coming to the club for over two years. In this time he has grown in confidence not only in the dojo but in life in general. The club has a friendly, inclusive attitude and atmosphere that provides an excellent learning environment. The teachers have a warm, approachable and humorous style of teaching that is highly suited to my son's age group.



Outside of the class, my son has used the values and principles taught to resolve conflict before it has become physical on a number of occasions. As a last resort he has twice used his skills to physically stop a larger child hitting him and to stop another child hurting one of his friends, proving how well the class lessons transfer to real world situations.

My son Harley attends a Monday class here and loves it, He is quite shy esp when it comes to new things but shows nothing but confidence and enthusiasm about the class, the guys couldn't help enough to get him up and running. I love that Harley is having fun with something he enjoys and I look forward to seeing how he progresses over time. Thanks guys!

My son Alex has been going for a few months and absolutely loves it. Everyone's so welcoming and friendly . His confidence has grown massively and he is learning to defend himself so it's win win , my 2 year old can't wait to be old enough to join :-)
