Was in there yesterday with my pal lovely pub that unites are love of the real ales.

Top day out in Liverpool yesterday, this pub being one of the highlights. £7.20 for 2 pints of excellently maintained Guinness, good customer service and friendly co drinkers, what’s not to like.

The guys at The Ship and Mitre were absolutely amazing when they hosted our wedding reception last weekend. Super-friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and a really cool venue. We had a fantastic time - thanks guys! See you at the next beer festival xx

The Ship remains Liverpool’s finest traditional pub. The cask beer is superbly kept and ever changing. The staff are so friendly and always on the ball with prompt service. Warning. There’s no Fosters or Caaaaarlin.

Pretty much the pub to start our day in Liverpool. Nice home cooked food and ales to die for.

Can't big this place up enough,been their many times with mates,partner and now our dog!Dogs are very welcome, my girlfriend had a great Cherry beer and I went for an IPA,your spoilt for choice,real ale,craft and world beers available. This is top of our doggy pub trail,a must visit for locals and visitors to wonderful Liverpool.

Don't get me wrong, still one of the best pubs in the country but perhaps not at its absolute best yesterday. I understand why they sell their own beer, which is good stuff, but it does reduce the number of guests and two guests were rather bland big brewery beers. I'm sure that yesterday is just a blip and that it will be back to five stars next time
