What a fabulous meal. We had the mezze and every dish was delicious. We managed to squeeze a dessert in and I had the cheesecake with fruit compote. The nicest cheesecake I’ve ever had. My husband had Greek yoghurt with honey and figs and my son had the chocolate cake with strawberry and ouzo sorbet. Will definitely be going back.

We have never been before. Had lovely Greek food and will definitely go again. It was busy & had a good atmosphere

Visited here last night, we have not been for years and we hope now to be regular visitors, food was fantastic and service was excellent, really warm and friendly, all dishes explained and extremely tasty. We had the meze which I would always opt for as you get to sample lots of their wonderful dishes. Can’t wait to visit again. Thanks.

Just stunning. Intending to go for many years and while good friends have been often. They have consistently reported nothing but very special things from this hidden gem in Horwich. From start to finish there is a very amiable welcome into the tasteful and traditionally Greek setting. Cozy and full of genuine Mediterranean warmth. ALL staff very knowledgeable and VERY passionate, willing and able to explain each and every dish. Ingredients, source and cooking techniques along with flavoring. This is a Greek restaurant, you will be offered very tasty Greek wine, refreshing Greek Beer and Greek specialist drinks; and very good they all are too. Now if that`s not all enough, here comes the food. I really hope the owners don`t mind me saying, but the menu is very simple. Its Greek, its a Greek restaurant! ( did I mention that) But it is that simplicity that produces traditional Greek recipes to simply die for. We shared Kalamari, Souvlaki & Feta Sagnaki. The Kalamari was cooked to perfection, no element of chewy what so ever, the Souvlake Chicken was cooked to perfection and of course finished with our fave Tzatziki. Now the highlight of my night. The Feta Sagnaki. What an utter taste sensation and just about tastiest Greek food I have ever eaten. The coating was so light and delicately cooked to perfection ( our waitress did let me into Chefs secret on this ) I almost cancelled my Lamb Cutlets to order a double of this as my main. Glad I didn't though as the Lamb was superb. All round just perfect, hosts, atmosphere and food, what more could you want? Why haven't we been earlier? Well we certainly will be visiting again and very very, very soon at that.

Had fantastic meal here last night with my hubby,the food is amazing from the giant beans starter to the chicken with spinach and feta.Hubby had fried saganaki and pork souvlaki all were amazing.The staff are all very welcoming can’t wait to return.Yamas

Had a great birthday meal for my mother. Despite being saturday and being full. Service was great, food very good indeed. Recomnend the MEZE menu. Bit like a sampler meal, small portions but about 12 courses. Food did feel authentic, must be a greek chef. Was stuffed by the end. Will be going back.

God I love this place. The Mezze is out of this world and the staff are perfect... been coming here since a child and has remained a favourite.

First time here & certainly not the last! Staff were very attentive & took excellent care of dietary requirements. Entertainment was very good but the food was amazing.... already looking to book a return visit �

First time at Sokrates and certainly not disappointed! Fabulously authentic Greek cuisine and friendly efficient staff... shall definitely revisit ... and to cap it off found out that Linda is my old friend Diane’s sister... keep up the good work Sokrates ... we’ll be back! 👍🏼

A little taste of Cyprus in Horwich ! The meze are wonderful . Just too many choices , was glad to see the last of it because we were stuffed. Bottle of retsina and a couple of Keo beers - great night !

Just been to this wonderful restaurant for my birthday meal it was so tasty and brilliant value for money. The lovely lady who served us was so friendly and even brought me a birthday drink x

We waited an hour for staff to sort the over priced bill out ... no apologies .. very disappointed will not be returning

Took the staff 45 minutes to craft a bill together after 3 times us sending it back as they had over charged us. That's 3 times in 45 minutes it took them to try and solve the price! We had a 3 year old child who was getting very tired and upset by this point! Not good! No one seemed to know what day it was. Stood around waiting and waiting. They stuck on an extra £45 to our bill which eventually after that time they realised they were the ones in the wrong! Before all this we had ordered a coffee we was told after ordering it would be 10 mins to make as they were busy and it takes time, bare in mind it was a Wednesday evening and there was 3 other couples in... It wasn't busy! We waited 15mins until I canceled the coffee as we wanted our bill little did I know how long that would take as I could of had the coffee while I waited! 😂 . I'd advise everyone who visits this place, check your bill and don't order a coffee!
