Something Yummy Cakes & Catering Description
My name is Kerri and I love to bake. Having been baking for friends and family I wanted to take it further and so Something Yummy was born. I am based in Saddleworth and provide a custom baking service. Whether you are having a celebration or just have a sweet tooth I can create something yummy to meet your needs. Everything I create is bespoke and designed in conjunction with the customer, whether it be a celebration cake, a box of cupcakes or food for a children's party. As well as creating visually pleasing treats my aim is always to make sure they taste as good as they look. Please have a look at the photos on this page to see some of my work. Last but not least this morning two lovely young lads celebrated their 7th birthdays. Fortunately both their teams are still in the world cup!
So it has been a busy old week in the Something Yummy kitchen. In this heat I have produced over 20 cakes including deliveries to Reclamation Room and Terra Nino as well as a few birthday cakes. The one below was for a surprise 21st birthday party!
Had some lovely feedback from my customer this week: "Hi Kerri just wanted to say joe loves his bday cake, looks and tastes fab.... everyone who had a slice said how delicious and moist the sponge was, it's a truly yummy cake, thank you for making it x" Hope you had a great birthday Joe x

21st birthday cake for my nephew. The brief was to use sweets wherever possible in the decoration which was fun!

I was asked to create a 21st birthday cake on the theme of the film Bedknobs and Broomsticks as it was the birthday girl's favourite film as a child. The bed is chocolate cake with a sugarpaste bedframe and models.
I received the most wonderful feedback from my customer for this naked wedding cake I made over Easter. Made my day! The bride messaged "Just wanted to say thank you so much for the cake. I loved it, it was exactly what I wanted!! Xx"

A 5th birthday cake from the weekend
So this weekend I made a cake for my daughter's joint birthday party with one of her best friends. It was a netball party and the girls told me they would like their cake to be a netball! Spherical cakes can be tricky so I cheated slightly and went for a rice crispy treat ball on top of a chocolate sponge, buttercream and chocolate ganache "netball post" cake. The girls were very happy with it!
It's been a busy week in the Something Yummy Kitchen. As well as a large number of cakes delivered to my wholesale customers, three celebration cakes went out this weekend too!
Fifth birthday cake for Saddleworth Kids Car Boot!
Wedding cake delivered at the weekend. Fruit, vanilla and lemon sponge tiers. Handmade sugar flowers made to match the hair decorations of the bridal party and edible lace.
