i would recommend southport osteopathy to EVERYONE!!!! i went with chronic sciatica which started during pregnancy and got extremely worse after birth. after being ignored by A&E and doctors i finally took matters into my own hands and came here - my mum also has beem here and had Kay too who is amazing! I wouldn't be here today without Kay. i'm currently sat in hospital after a lumbar microdiscectomy. i had the operation yesterday and i'd begged my physiotherapist to refer me to a neurosurgeon, i asked doctors and nobody listened. just kept giving me more and more tablets. Kay could see how much i struggled, forced the doctors to refer me to a neurosurgeon after being told "it would bs pretty pointless you know" and being pushed away because i'm so young. the neurosurgeon saw me last week after a long wait to see him. he booked me in for the next emergency operation and even though my back hurts, i currently have no sign of sciatica. i was crippled with leg, hip and back pain and now i've just been told i can go home after having the operation at 3pm yesterday. i could not thank Kay enough for believing in me and actually helping me more than any doctors have. Kay isn't just an osteopath, she is a lovely understanding lady who will do ANYTHING she can to help you. i 1000% recommend this place to anyone. even minimal pain i would say get checked right away snd Kay will do whatever she can to help you. a brilliant service and I definitely owe my life to Kay. thank you! x

When I met Kay I was struggling with my mobility as my body was out of alignment due to an ankle injury ( Kay identified this straight away ) . Since seeing Kay my mobility and flexibility has improved so much - I take much less pain killers and can manage short periods without my stick. I was sceptical at first that she would make a difference - how wrong was I ! She is extremely professional whilst being very friendly and approachable. If you are unsure if an osteopath will help I strongly recommend you book in with Kay . For me it is money well spent !

We first went to southport osteopathy after an unsuccessful tongue tie division on my baby girl at 3/4 weeks old as she was unable to breastfeed and struggling to bottle feed. After the first session I could already see a huge difference and was so surprised as I was sceptical about anything being able to help as she was just so unsettled and unhappy all the time. After a few sessions and combined with a second tongue tie revision this time with posterior tongue tie also, we saw immense results and although she was not immediately able to feed I could see a huge difference in her. She was much more settled and had the makings of being a content little lady! After every session she would sleep for a really lovely length of time Menai g I could catch up and afterwards she was always so much happier. It was like magic. I am also pleased to say that with her being so much more comfortable and happy from 3 months we have been exclusively breastfeeding now which is just a miracle. Highly reccomend this for even settled newborns. It's such a good therapy 👌🏼

User

Took my little baby here a couple of weeks ago to see Kay for cranial osteopathy and WOW!! The difference in my little boy is amazing, he's more settled, he's sleeping and overall a more content little baby. After just 1 session and the difference is incredible. Thank You Kay xx

Took my 18month old son suffering with severe pain and discomfort whilst passing stools left not knowing if the 1/2hr session with kay had helped to find that within 36hrs he was able to have bowel movements pain free. The problem came back slightly again 3 months later I visited kay again and again perfect results he has now been pain free for 5 months I would highly recommend kay to anybody.

User

Our daughter was so unsettled and upset 90% of the time. She didn't like being held, put down, being in the car or in the pram. After one session with kay she was a different child, babbling, cooing, able to lie on her own on her back and be happy. Able go in the car and be soothed, she now naps when needed and is soothed in the pram. She is a happy baby x all thanks to Kay. I would recommend her to anyone who has an unhappy baby with no real cause. Literally changed my daughter in half an hour. Best money I've ever spent.

User

My first visit to Kay at Southport Osteopathy Clinic. What a treat, have been in pain for a couple of weeks and after one treatment my back feels so free. Will be going back and would recommend 100%. What a gem Kay is.

User

My daughter was diagnosed with a lip tie at 8 weeks and struggled to feed. She suffered badly with reflux and projectile vomiting after each feed due to her intake of air whilst feeding. After her first treatment, the improvement was instant. No more projectile and a much better feeder. Kay also cured her sticky eye, which she'd had since birth and hadn't cleared with 2 lots of antibiotics! It was gone there and then, unbelievable. We had one more session to follow up. We had yet more improvement feeding and reflux wise. Kay was wonderful, in fact my daughter slept the whole way through the first session and most of the way through the second. I can not recommend Kay highly enough, she works miracles! Thank you so much Kay.

User

Kay not only diagnosed the tear in my knee meniscus ('tut-tuted' by the surgeon, but then shown on the MRI scan:) but has had the tenacity of character to treat me, never wavering in her positivity, in the most amazingly effective way over the last year - no mean feat for anyone, I can assure you! An amazing practitioner - don't hesitate, go try!

Thank you Kay.

User

Kay Atkinson is magic! Yet again she's saved my neck, (or rather, KNEE this time!) so that I can still embark upon a demanding, long-haul overseas business trip with confidence. A couple of days ago I couldn't walk after my knee 'buckled' as I stood up from a chair – it was instant agony; I was wheeled into the walk-in centre at Ormskirk Hospital where I was X-rayed and given a brace and crutches but no explanation or diagnosis. Two days later and still in considerable pain and limping on crutches (that the hospital had set to an incorrect height for my physique, Kay immediately spotted) I saw Kay Atkinson. She expertly and quickly identified a Medial Collateral Ligament sprain, then treated and taped up my injury so that I was able to WALK OUT almost normally again after seeing her. AMAZING. Kay always gives lots of excellent advice on continuing care and I shall continue to consult her for any future health issues. I thoroughly recommend Southport Osteopathy.

User

I took my 3 month old daughter to see Kay after it was recommended to me as my little girl was just generally unsettled and I couldn’t pin my finger on what it was. She would often cry unless being entertained, wanted to be held constantly, didn’t like lying down on her back and displayed typical ‘colic’ symptoms. She struggled to feed off one breast and always seemed uncomfortable. In addition, she also seemed to resist turning her head to one side. After 1 session with Kay my little girl was a different child! She barely cried, was happy to go down on her play mat for long periods of time and immediately turnt her head both ways! She changed to being unrecognisable and absolutely everyone commented on how much more relaxed she was. We had a follow up session after our initial session and it was agreed no further sessions were needed and my little girl is doing great! I would highly recommend to anyone whose baby just seems a little unsettled! Well worth a visit! Thanks Kay xx

User

I have been to see Kay for almost 2 yrs. I have a active job and regularly injure my back, with Kays treatments i have been able to manage my back problems successfully. I recently injured my back on holiday and Kay pulled out all the stops to see me as soon as i was back. I couldn't recommend enough.

User

I have been seeing Kay for 10 years now during a very bad period of health. She not only treats me with her specialised ME skills, but also got me on the right road by suggesting an amazing consultant. She is always professional and caring enough to take an interest in her patients so as not to make one feel like a number. Highly recommend to anyone :)

I had my first ever Osteopathic treatment this morning with Gill & after a week of walking in agony with a sore back, I walked out feeling miles better. A lovely lady and I would definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks Gill and I'll see you next week! X

First went to see Kay in 2000 and still go from time to time when I need to for general back and neck pain. Have been again recently after hurting my back and neck in a small accident, and as always, came out feeling ALOT more comfortable than when I went in! First session always provides a good amount of instant relief and I've never needed more than a couple of visits to put me back to normal.

Always had complete faith in Kay's abilities and professionalism, she knows exactly what she's doing and her personality helps put you completely at ease.

Can totally recommend Southport Osteopathy Practice as a whole, especially to anyone nervous of visiting an Osteopath for the first time. Lovely clean modern and comfortable premises, easy and efficient appointments system and friendly, helpful reception staff.

If you suffer back/neck pain it's a pleasure to visit this practice!

First visit to see Kay was 18 years ago. I've suffered with lower back pain for 20yrs. In the last 18 years with treatment from Kay I have managed to keep working. It's inevitable that an operation will be needed. I've recommended Kay to several friends who've suffered injuries, they've all said the same thing. She's fabulous. The highest praise though was from a renowned consultant, his words were, In all the years I've treated patients, Kay is the best Osteopath I've ever worked with. He wasn't wrong.
