Dunes Splash World has been nominated for a Carbon Champion Award at the Echo Environment Awards.
Collaborative work between Leisure and our Energy teams have reduced Carbon emissions at DSW by 3000 tonnes of C02.
This massive saving would be enough to run nearly 800 homes for an entire year and is the equivalent to planting over 31,000 trees!

Went here yesterday, all 3 of my children aged 11,9 and 8 thoroughly enjoyed it all day! 😁 Was lovely and clean, was nice to be in a changing room without a soggy floor. Plenty of supervision around the pools and slides and a delightful lady in the cafe 👍 we are planning on visiting again

User

Really good value for money. We bought a Gold ticket which meant we could stay until closing. Something for everyone from Family slides to faster ones. Ring donut slide was a favourite as was the lazy river. Had lunch and the portions were a good size, again value for your money. Lockers easy to use and you pick up your locker band from Reception for £1. The slides do shut 15 minutes from closing so if you want a shower, give yourself plenty of time. Staff were friendly. It wasn’t overly busy either. Can’t wait to return again with the family.

User

Don’t understand the bad reviews. We had a wonderful time and it was absolutely spotless! Staff friendly and helpful and our whole family with various age ranges all loved it. So much better than other water parks we’ve been too. The floor not all slippery tiles looked like expensive playpark type material and kids didn’t fall over when getting over excited and running. Wouldn’t hesistate to recommend

User

Best place for kids to play and have fun. The staff are friendly and are very fast to react to incidents that may happen making you feel at ease whilst you watch your kids have a great time thanks splash world

User

visited on 2 August 2 adults 2 children we found the slides and pool great we spent around 4 and half hours there and had lots of fun. The reason I did not give 5 stars - the cafe is very small and we had to stand and wait around 25 minutes for a table to have our lunch as spectators were taking up the cafe tables even though they were not eating or drinking!! There are seperate seats for spectators! the staff really should ensure people who are not ordering food/drinks at the cafe are not taking up the tables when people are wanting to buy their lunch.

User

We all had a great time although I do think it needs the flaking paint on the ceiling sorting out as a huge piece fell off into the pool and it could have been made better with a wave machine. That aside though it was well worth the money we paid.

After looking for a good place to go with lots to do for our 7 & 2 year old we decided to visit splash world.

We parked the car next door in the car park and the machine gave us two tickets, one that you put in your car and one that you take into splash world so they can refund your parking. We got inside and proceeded to try and find a family changing room, to say this place is for families we found two family changing rooms which we waited ages for but then gave up and went in separate cubicles. We got changed and found ourselves two lockers my husband got his stuff in his locker and locked it and then we spent ages trying to get my locker to lock. We couldn’t seem to find any staff members to ask for help after about 5 minutes of trying to get my locker to lock we finally managed it and headed for the pool. My two year old was straight into the toddler area and loved the little slides and the jets. My 7 year old loved everything about the pool she loved the slides and the lazy river. I like the fact that on one of the blue slides children can ride down on a grown ups knee my daughter also loved this as she’s not the most confident with these things so it was nice that she could go down with me. We spent 3 hours in the pool and it flew by, we got out and went to get showered and changed, on returning to my locker I found my locker door open, my heart sunk because I thought all my belongings would be gone but they weren’t (very lucky!) we got showered and the showers were lovely and warm and then went off to find a family changing room to then realise we may as well just get separate cubicles again. Once dry and dressed we went to the hairdryers which cost 20p I really wouldn’t bother with them we put our 20p’s in and i think if my husband had have blown on my hair that would have been more effective, the driers are not the best and last about 2 minutes!

Apart from the lack of family changing rooms and the issue with my locker, we had a great time. Oh the toilets could do with a good clean too!

Weve got active choices bands. The first time we came we received discount from one band, unaware at the time we left it at that, however we went again and we're told the second band wasn't even registered to us, after some debating the lady fixed it for us and we got a discount off both bands, then realising we had been done over the first time, I mean why wasn't the issue fixed the first time? Then today we've gone, bands fine, discounts fine, now we have been overcharged, my son is 4 not 6 ! We were even told by the staff his wristband was wrong for his age after a dispute at the family flume over him going it alone. Its a mere £1.10 but for gods sake ive just paid 40 quid for gold passes and you overcharge me really? Just fed up with there always being a problem. Bubble spa thats a laugh its on for 10 minutes off for 30 minutes. Rapid ride...its a whirlpool. They shut off the toddler part with the bucket 15 minutes before every sodding band has to get out! So if you've got gold passes its open shut open shut all day! Never been offered stamps. Had to ask today for them and we've got until the end of September to use them so too late really, oh and that now says on it that my 4 year old son is 6-15. It was freezing today in there, water and the centre itself. I'm sure they had the air con on full blast. The slides are good fun,the prices are high but I get a discount and I stay more than 4 hours so the price works out well for us. There's lots to do in there and it's clean I thought except the odd couple of things floating round the pool but thats the customers fault...lazy... I return because my son loves it but please no more hiccups !

User

Went with my two girls yesterday, way too many people in the pool, got kicked every 5 mins.. also what looked like poop floating in the water. and pretty steep price to swim for an hour or so. Won't be rushing back.

User

We went yesterday for the 1st time paid for a full day we only managed 2hrs as it was cold and u felt all crammed it as it got too busy. We won't be going back again

User

Took my 10 year old grandson yesterday as an alternative to Blackpool sandcastle as 60 quid for a day out in an inside water park was a bit steep. 31 quid at Splash world was a big more respectable. My grandson loved it and we spent just short of four hours here. I got a bit fed up after about an hour but it wasn't my day out.....it was my grandsons. The slides are good and the staff pleasant enough. The decor is however looking a bit tatty on the stairs up to the slides and you can't help notice it due to the queue time. That aside......nothing else to complain about really.

User

Overall enjoyed this place I took my grandchildren 10 6 and 2. We got into pool about 11am it was fine but by 1230 it was absolutely chockablock! No one takes any notice of the wristband system so there are certainly more in the pool than there should be. Also we had to wait for 10 minutes for change room . Maybe something should be done about the amount of people in the pool at busy times!

User

I had my son's 5th birthday party here on Saturday. The party the kids loved, however the booking process and general customer service before and during the party wasn't great. I wasn't called to confirm numbers before the party had to constantly chase things myself, wasn't asked key questions around allergies for the childrens food.

I wasn't advised there was no music in the meeting room which is where the children go for their party food and I wasn't advised around the locker charge. I advised that I was dissatisfied on 2 occasions on the phone and wasn't given any sort of reassurance that the party would run smoothly or an apology. I wouldn't book a party here again just for the poor customer service.

User

Used to love this place but last time we went (a couple of months ago), it had really gone downhill. The slides and walls of the pool were mouldy and had peeling paint on them. The stairs to the slides were filthy: stairs, handrails and walls. The whole place needs a good clean, re-paint and general maintenance overhaul. So much so that I asked for a complaints form, filled it out and posted it but never heard anything back. The management team mustn't value customers' opinions much! Very disappointing.

User

I came for quiet night for the disabled, i have a fractured spine and many more problems with my back, there was nothing quiet about it, it was so dangerous it amazed me, i understand its a night for disability, but there was no control at all, life guards sat back chilling while 200 disabled people running, jumping bouncing of people, quite a dangerous night for people with spine problems

User

Terrible value for money week 1 of summer holidays and lazy river closed nobody told us so we paid for whole day kids wanted out after 30 mins begged them to stay for another hour then when spoke to staff when we all dressed an hair dried tried to tell me we'd paid 2 hours ago so we'd swam for 2 hours .... so did we not get dressed twice in that time with 4 kids no !!!! Will never come again ... sandcastles or waterworld much better even though more expensive

User

Not happy at all. The price was so expensive. £9.40 for 1 child swim and I never New you had to pay to spectate and meant to get a free drink don’t thin so that was definitely in with the price. Being made to hire a locker and it being asked do u want one wrong. I never got given the option in fact I was totally disappointed with the service. Won’t be going back as you need a back loan. God help all those single parents wanting to take their kids there.

User

I used to love this place and been many times with a family of 6 but it has seriously gone down hill. Firstly the place was dirty and run down. The lazy river was closed due to broken tiles which we wasn’t informed about. But most importantly the staff are atrocious. Life guards are as much use as a chocolate fireguard! My daughter went on the slide with the ring, she’d been on this slide many times as well as the others and is a good swimmer. but on this time round she came off her ring at the very end to early and was struggling to get out due to the water from the slide falling on her and her not being tall enough to stand up. In this panic my daughter started to drown she was screaming and waving her hands for help! Luckily her dad was on the slide behind her his ring flew over her head in which he quickly realised what was going on and through his ring and run back to pull her out. My daughter at this stage was coughing and crying and clearly distressed. Through all of this the ‘LIFE GUARD’ was stood at the end just watching. When dad approached the member of staff to ask why he wasn’t doing his job properly his reply ‘she wasn’t drowning’ even though he could clearly see how distressed my daughter was. We then approached the main reception to ask to speak to a manager who told us the staff are NOT life guards but employed to keep people safe on the slides. If stopping a child drowning on the water slide isn’t in the job description to keep the children safe then what are they being paid for? After this we got out as my daughter was terrified and now says she will never go swimming again. She left heartbroken and has been very emotional since. It brakes my heart to think what could have happened if dad was not on the slide behind her!

User

For the price you pay here you would expect a clean environment, or at least basic hygiene. Absolutely disgusting, plenty of staff but none took initiate to remove the litter floating round the pool, nor the faeces. Upon seeing this naturally I removed my child from the pool immediately, only 30 minutes into our 90 minute session. No surprises my daughter has become unwell after our visit here. What a shame that southport has this great facility and it's not being taken care off. We won't be returning.
