Polite notice: could parishioners travelling to church by car for the 9.30am and 11.00am Sunday masses, please ensure that if you park in the main car park that you are parked in a designated marked parking space. The dial a ride service mini bus, provided for our elderly parishioners had considerable trouble exiting the car park after 11.00 mass today due to cars being parked at the end of the rows. Many thanks.

The Shepherds have left & the Kings have arrived having completed their long journey to where the star rested over the location of the Christ child..... check out surely the tallest indoor tree in Chorley! We almost touched the roof ! 😊🎄 well done to David & Mark, Paul, Jack & Reece ! Getting the star on the top was a huge challenge ! 😱😇🎄🎄

We still need some helpers if anyone wants to volunteer a few hours once a month

Please can someone read for me at 9.30 Mass tomorrow? I am doing the Wigan 10k in the morning so can’t read. Thanks!

Youth Group will be starting back in October, (Friday 26th). It will run on the last Friday of the month with two sessions, 6pm-7pm for those who've made their first communion up to those in year 6 and 7pm-9pm for those in year 7 and above. We're really looking forward to seeing some new faces and our old members too!
In order for youth group to continue running we are looking for some more helpers, with our current helpers at University and College we sometimes need extra hands! If you're free to give a few hours one Friday a month it would be great! If you're interested please get in touch with Charlotte (cew33@hotmail.co.uk) or send us a message! In order for our group to continue to flourish we need to get helping it grow!
See you in October!😊

What a truly wonderful celebration we had at St.Gregory’s yesterday in honour of Canon Richard “Dick’ Firth who died just a year ago & who’s mortal remains are buried in the home of his birth - Ireland. But so loved was he at Weldbank that we had a Celtic cross commissioned & yesterday Archbishop Malcolm dedicated it to him after a beautiful Mass concelebrated with Fthr Graeme, Monsignor McKenna, Fthr Mayne, Canon Kelly, Fthr Robinson. Monsignor gave a humorous & moving tribu...te to ‘Dick’........ just perfectly summing him up..... after the dedication of the memorial all 255 of us had a super delicious lunch provided by Campbell Rowley’s from Blackpool - really fab food served by an equally really lovely team directed by Oscar Rowley. The marquee again was through an awesome team Premier Event Marquees - Phil & Jamie De Cobin. Top job guys......

You know .... St. Gregory's just keeps on giving ! The parish is so so supportive of our primary & high school children & families.

Yesterday the parish celebrated 27 children making their 1st Holy Communion & today had a brilliant party in the church garden.

"They" say church's are emptying ! well, not here ....... St. Greg's are doing something right :-)

A real "family day" bathed in warm sunshine with games, food, wine....... no shops, no technology just sheer fun & happiness :-) ahhhh.......
