1st time staying ere and it was great, the staff you couldnt fault anyone they were all lovely, the room was a lovely size and very clean and the breakfast was very filling and not greasy at all. Would definitely stay ere again

User

Went for lunch had fish and chips hubby had steak pudding fish and pudding was lovely. chips were frozen so not so much nice pot of tea and staff friendly.

User

The staff were very helpful really enjoyed the stay only problem was in the suite upstairs was absolutely freezing no heating in the room, as you got on the landing and was nice and warm, other than that was a good weekend.

User

Me and my husband stayed here last night for our 1st wedding anniversary, we had a lovely lunch when we arrived and a fabulous breakfast this morning. The pub atmosphere was great in the evening we enjoyed a couple of drinks before heading to our room which was lovely and quiet . Loved the fact we could use the spa facilities next door . We would definitely stay again.

User

Its a little bit better on prices cause im not a tight wad but i know what things are worth so a pint of 1664 and a small bottle of wine is £8.15 all the other places around here want about £12 for a pint and a large wine robbing bastards. The staff were nice and the entertainment good overall its a good place

User

Had lunch and a pint in here on Sunday. Very nice bar and the food was good also generous portions and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly too

User

Great location room and ensuite very clean nice comfy bed friendly staff great breakfast value for money will stay again

User

Went here for food, the food was nice enough but the staff were a bit misrable.

My wife and son had the fish and chips and the chef brought out the bread and butter and said "Just to let you know I've mistakenly cooked two larger prices of fish so if you come again they won't be that big" Why the heck did she need to tell us that?

User

The pub itself is OK but don't go to the toilet. Toilet roll dispenser smashed and paper all over the floor. No lock on toilet door, smashed. Toilet door is dilapidated with paneling coming away. Not a good advert for a Lake District pub. It needs money spending on it and a regular check by staff during the course of the day.

User

Good place to stay for a night. Would have given another star ⭐️ if had been able to get some food when we got back at quarter past 8 in the evening. Great location though. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good too.
