Stockport Museum is celebrating Christmas round the World this year! Come along and get your FREE passport, follow the trail around the Museum, and get stamps for each country you visit. Along with crafts and activities, this is a wonderful and different way to treat the family this holiday season :-)

We were pleased to have such a large turnout for this month's object - as seen in our WW1 display case. The Death penny was presented to the family of Harry Alcock, killed in action aged just 17. Harry's great - nephew Derek Lawrence kindly agreed for the loan of Harry's penny and medals, along with those of his brother George, who returned. Derek was there to hear the talk and see the penny go on display

What a gem of a museum! Both museum are fascinating. Staircase House has an audio guide and interactive bits. Love the fact that most things are touchable.

Stockport Museum is good and it's free. The Strawberry Studio exhibit is fantastic(only on this year)

We got a Stockport mueum multi-pass and it was an excellent deal.

Well managed, beautifully restored Staircase House, home to Stockport Museum on the historic marketplace. Well worth a visit.

User

We love both museums. They are very child-friendly and have lots of activities for kids. Ours ask to visit very often!

User

We had a great time kids were free ! £5 for me

Visited the museum here today which is totally free. We had already visited the Air Raid Shelter so one museum was enough. We will do the Staircase House side another day. The staff are lovely and welcoming and make you feel very relaxed. The museum itself is quite amazing it has such a lot of different sides to it. It’s a really interesting place for both adults and children. Loved the interactive music quizzes and old fashioned board games left out for people to play. My 6 year old granddaughter loved it. Well done Stockport this place is definitely a jewel in your crown.

Just spent most of the day at this museum with a 3,7 and 10yr old. All 3 loved it! Plenty to do for all ages, lots of interactivity, games to play and plenty to learn. They were all really reluctant to leave! We only went to try out the craft activities but the free museum was fantastic! Thanks!

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend this year's Heritage Open Day, on Saturday 9th September, and had an absolute fantastic day, despite the rain showers. Definitely looking forward to next year's.

I have lived in stockport all my life, walked past this thousands of times and didn’t have a clue what lay waiting inside totally impressed by both exhibits especially the strawberry studios exhibit ! Very polite and knowledgeable staff really enjoyed it x

Fantastic place. Literally the whole walk through was interesting and fun. The fact that you can touch and interact with almost everything rather than just look is a nice thing to be allowed to do. A gem for Stockport. Best enjoyed with your loving partner too, as I did very much so :-)
