Some of the pictures from yesterday`s Halloween party, held in the Cinema Room at Stocks Hall Mawdesley. There was a Pumpkin Pinata, a `Mummy Wrap` and a spooky Halloween Quiz, along with refreshments and sweet treats. Activities Co-ordinator, Joanne, says, “The Pinata and Mummy Wrap were a barrel of laughs for all involved. And our winner of the Autumn Canvas Competition is…Picture E….created by the Willow Unit! Congratulations to everyone who took part in creating some unique pieces of autumnal themed art. Care Supervisor, Vikki, says, "We all enjoyed coming up with the idea for this canvas and had fun collecting the leaves and twigs from the garden. The ghostly ghouls are out at Stocks Hall Mawdesley and it`s not even nightfall yet....

There`s been pumpkin carving this morning, with some of the ladies on the Willow unit, at Stocks Hall Mawdesley. The ladies were getting prepared for the Halloween party this afternoon and were wearing their witches hats and devils horns. Activities Co-ordinator, Joanne, says, “We had great fun carving the pumpkins, though everyone did comment on how smelly they were.” #StocksHallMawdesley #Halloween #Pumpkins

What an amazing day Penny and Barry had on Saturday when they went to watch the Liverpool FC game. The pair enjoyed a burger and Penny had a pint of cider whilst they took in the atmosphere of the stadium. Penny treated herself to a bobble hat and scarf, as the one she had was over 20 years old. Staff at the ground kindly led them to their seats, which were just behind the goal. Barry commented that they were so close to the pitch, they could have almost touched the players a...t times. Penny was in her element. Senior Care Assistant, Barry, says, “We held a scarf up, Penny holding one end and me the other as we sang `You’ll Never Walk Alone`, then the game started. It was a fantastic game - Liverpool won 4-1 and Penny’s favourite player, Shaqiri, scored his first Liverpool goal. Penny had a great time and to top it off, on the way home, we picked up a Chinese takeaway which we thoroughly enjoyed, to finish off a magical day. It was a privilege to take such an amazing lady on a special day out." #StocksHallMawdesley #LiverpoolFC

It`s been another team win for this month`s `Staff Member of the Month`, at Stocks Hall Mawdesley, with the award going to the Kitchen Team. The catering staff were each presented with certificates and bottles of their favourite tipple, in recognition of working extremely well together and being dedicated to maintaining the high standards for which they have become known for. Home Manager, Faye, said, “Everyone in this team has worked extremely hard while we have gone through the process of recruiting a new Second Chef. Some of our resident football fans took a trip to the National Football Museum in Cathedral Gardens, Manchester, the other day and were joined by young Thomas. The group enjoyed looking at all the exhibits in the museum and treated themselves to lunch at a Nando`s. There was a great atmosphere around the City Centre, with all the visiting Juventus fans who had travelled over for the football game with Man United that night. With the leaves now falling from the trees and an autumnal nip in the air, here at Stocks Hall Mawdesley, Ian decided to have a go at making toffee apples, but with a twist…using chocolate instead of toffee! He was excited to share the sweet treats with staff and friends and is looking forward to making more near Bonfire Night. #StocksHallMawdesley #AutumnActivity #SweetTooth

Last week saw some of the ladies and gents, from Stocks Hall Mawdesley, have an interesting day out at Smithills Open Farm in Bolton. Penny was over the moon at being able to get so close to the donkeys, which are one of her favourite animals, while some of the calves particularly enjoyed nibbling at Violet, which she found hilarious. Everyone commented what a great day they`d had and said they would love to visit again. #StocksHallMawdesley #SmithillsOpenFarm #FunAtTheFarm
