Spent four days here on a course. The Staff are very friendly, and the food is lovely. Special shout out to Maz in the cafe who went above and beyond every time, constantly serving with a smile.

User

I appreciate how the staff team go out of their way to help and it's a great facility. I use the gym, pool and sauna often. Highly recommended.

User

Having been stuck "down south" on a course all week we have been looked after fantastically well by the catering staff, Maz,Caz and Nicky they honestly could'nt have looked after us better THANK YOU SO MUCH LADIES WHAT STARS YOU ARE XX

User

Amazing dedicated staff in A&E who saw me not once but twice in seven days.

They were extremely quick and efficient attending to me.

A big Thank you. To all.

User

Ive found it ok, paid up front membership for 13 months, its only 5 mins from where i live by bike. Gym swim and classes included, did have some issues with the app but they were resolved very quickly. Gòod value.

User

Under new management the gym generally feels disorganised and there is a lack of communication. No one seems to know what classes are running and what instructors are available to cover classes. The More Fitness App does not let me see any availability for classes the day before or on the day. So I am now tending to miss classes I could possibly be able to get on.

The whole gym is looking tired and dirty. Needs money spent on it. Considering moving to another gym now at this stage.

My daughter delivered our beautiful grandson on saturday morning. As a Consultant Midwife I was very careful that no one knew so I could support her as a Mum. The care she received was exceptional and I would like to think that it mirrors what would happen in my own a Trust. Thank you so much to Kim called in from Community to support activity who delivered baby Samuel and Joan who had the night shift. Really am very grateful for the care the whole family received.

User

I recently had a problem regarding putting my membership on hold as I was having a planned c section. I had emailed several times to cancel/put my membership on hold (terminology which I got confused, which did in turn cause confusion) the main gripe I had was that the emails were never replied to and left me feeling ignored. I raised this complaint (with additional points) to the general manager who once involved resolved the issue very quickly. If I am honest I was very close to never rejoining due to frustration but after the call today I am happy the situation has been resolved and I look forward to rejoining as soon as I can..prior to this incident I would definitely rate the facilities and reception staff very highly and love taking my small children swimming there.

The gym has recently had the flooring replaced and the bodybuilding machines have been relocated. Can understand that the defective flooring needed to be replaced and the layout now works better than before, but what I'm annoyed over is the fact that the following machines have been removed from the gym:

T Bar row

Smith machine

Lat pulldown machine

Close grip pulldown

Hack squat

Hyper extension machine

Some of these machines were the top machines you had in the gym. Why have you taken away the better lat pulldown machine and left us with the older inferior one? Also why have you taken away the hack squat machine and left us with two leg press machines, one of which is sub standard compared to the quality of the hack squat machine?

Could we at least have some other bars for the gym to at least make up for the loss of equipment? Such as a trap deadlift bar and triceps bar? These items don't cost an earth but would be very handy. Could you please also look at starting to repair the broken parts of the current machines? For instance the rubber handles slip on them, some of the weight numbers on the machine plates have worn off, the preacher curl has a missing bar bracket, missing parts to the dumbel rack so the weights dont sit correctly, the calf machine seat is loose, the pad on it is worn and parts come off on your legs etc.

User

Seem to be less and less swimming at weekends and more Aqua challenge. Happy to take your money for your membership. But you can not swim at weekends much as of this Aqua challenge. Are the kids full members. I don’t think so. And now they have bookable Aqua challenge. Swim when you can if they haven’t taken it away with swim schools etc. Not too happy with this new company.

It’s a swimming pool not a leisure pool like Aqua vale

User

It's good that so many events take place but members should be informed when the pool is closed for the events before arriving in reception. Lost track of how many times I have turned up and they have closed the pool and not updated customers by email/ social media/ their website. Never any refunds/ discounts of membership fees to compensate for not being able to use the facilities.

User

I pay £26 monthly and like to use the pool. It is getting ridiculously busy that it is difficult to find any space in the pool without bumping into people. The stadium is too focused on taking money for swimming lessons which take over 2/3rds of the pool and the people who pay good money each month get a one hour slot in normal hours to use the pool using a very tiny area of the pool! Im now signed up to a contract so im stuck but will not be renewing and would not recommend it to anyone who wants to swim! Unless you are happy to swim at 9pm!

User

filthy pool always 2/3rds given to swimming club so never able to swim, Gym never cleaned and broken running machines. Changing rooms always dirty and never clean. Dont expect them to be able to do simple things like collect direct debits correctly either, they will stop you using the gym then demand you pay for months you couldnt use the gym becuase they are unable follow instructions and complete direct debits as instructed. You will then need to make 9 phone calls over 2 months to sort it out even after they admit its 100% their fault. Please do not waste your time with this gym 5 others in aylesbury with no 12 month contract and cheaper too. Aqua vale is better if you need a pool and acually get to use it rather than given less than 1/3rd of the pool for 1 hour a night.

User

You lot are a joke. Get to gym this morning for it to be closed. How can you not tell your members on email. So many people arrived and turning away. Cancelling my membership with you jokers. All the machines are fucked as well!!!

User

Took 25 minutes to serve 11 people in the canteen and once I’d received the food it was cold.

User

They get one star because I can't give it no stars. Happy with the facilities and staff. The problem is 1Life and there threatening and intimidating tactics. I will be going elsewhere from now on. Be warned and avoid people. They are an absolute joke.

User

Just dealt with the most basic and rude restaurant manager I have ever met. We had pre paid for breakfast - yet daring to ask for it seemed like a sin. No tea, no coffee (and the paid coffee machine was disgusting). Which match the hotel nicely - filthy.

I finally had a glass of tap water slammed down in front of me. (In a dirty glass).

I wouldn't go there, unless you wanna catch something, and love a really unhelpful attitude in the morning.

User

If ever you're considering recommending the Olympic Lodge to someone - don't! Absolute disgrace to the name! Doesn't deserve 1 star.

User

I used to love it here. Now there are more lessons in the pool than there is time for free swimming. The only real time when it’s not busy or booked is 9pm most nights.

The changing rooms are always filthy, with lockers broken, wrappers from food over the floor, rubbish in cubicles. The floor looks dirty and showers barely work.

The pool heating breaks down a lot and the bottom of the pool looks like it needs a good clean.

Please sort it out Stoke Mandeville! Make time for your swimming members that don’t want or need lessons, they are important too! Clean more, make it the wonderful venue it used to be again.
