We have just had a group lesson become available tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 10am, and the forecast is for calm wind! Drop us a message if you'd like to book on.

The weather looks good for a paddle and a pint this Friday. Just a heads up - board hire isn't available this week due to work commitments and holidays. Have a good one, and get some training in for next Tuesday's Pursuit!

All are welcome to take part in the fourth of our 2018 summer SUP pursuit races on Southport Marine Lake. One 3km lap of the lake with a mass sprint for the finish. Any board - inflatable, solid, all round, race, surf, home-made!
Challenge your previous time or set one to beat. Everyone starts at a different time, set by previous race results, or an educated estimate if it's your first time. So race boards are chasing down all rounders and vice versa - great motivation to pad...dle hard, but the real target is your own fastest result!
It's essential that you let us know by Monday afternoon that you're taking part, so we can set your time and add you to the timing system. Short briefing at 6.45pm, first racers start at 7pm. Park and meet at Lakeside Christian Centre car park, off Fairway, PR9 0LA.
Leashes must be worn. Boards available to hire for those who have previously had a lesson - please book by Monday.
There's no charge to take part in this race. A lake permit is required. Please get in contact if you'd like to buy an annual permit, or to arrange use of a SUP North permit for the day.

We were recommended Sup North by a friend & our expectations were exceeded! Three of us went for a lesson having never paddle boarded before and just fancied trying it out - we had a really great session with Alan! He went over the techniques, equipment & safety thoroughly on land before heading on the water and prepped us well. The lake is nice, the sun was out which is always a bonus and Alan was super friendly & made it fun - just an overall great experience! Cant wait to get paddle boarding again, thanks very much!! Thankyou Alan for a great lesson today, my first time on a SUP....after falling in twice in the first ten minutes I thought I would be spending the next hour chest deep in water. However I stayed on for the duration and made it to the bridge and back and circled the islands with your encouragement and constant tuition. I actually felt like I was gliding on the way back. Many thanks Ian.

Thanks to Alan for a brilliant two hour lesson yesterday. He was a fantastic instructor - my 69 year old Dad isn’t too used to taking instructions off anyone, but even he was singing Alan’s praises for thorough and clear advice. Really good fun and a great experience. Would highly recommend SUP North!

After a few dips in the lake I thought I might be swimming back but thanks to Alan's encouragement and excellent instructions I stood up and we were off it was fantastic.

I recommend anyone to try this.

Thank you for the lesson! Excellent fun, Lucy was very knowledgeable and a very good teacher. She had us attempting some advanced turns in no time, granted we did get wet :) very good value for money and would recommend to anyone

Rob and I had a fantastic lesson with Alan at Southport Marina on Saturday morning. Beautiful day for a paddle and Alan was a mine of information! Really enjoyed it and Alan even timed it perfectly so we were off the water just before the speedboats arrived! Highly recommended - go SUP North! Looking forward to progressing and getting involved! :-)

I had a two hour lesson after 3 years of paddling i learned a lot and a new trick my paddle technique has got better well worth trying it x thanks again x

I booked a lesson with Alan last week and absolutely loved it. We had a beautiful morning on the lake. A lovely way to relax . Great tuition and progressed from land to water, to knees to feet . We paddled the length of the lake and back and started to gain more confidence with paddle technique. I felt learnt loads in 2 hours. I've entered SupBikeRun and feel more confident with the SUP leg . Thanks

I Booked a lesson for myself and son on Sunday afternoon and can say it was a fun filled 2 hours , Alan was friendly and very patient and we will both definitely do more SUP very soon and can’t recommend SUP NORTH enough.

Had a great lesson today on the lake with Lucy! Even though we requested tuition at the last minute, to take advantage of the Spring sunshine, SUP North were very accommodating and fitted us in the next afternoon. Tuition was of a very high standard, unrushed and comprehensive. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, many thanks Lucy! Oh yes, lovely cakes and coffee in the Oasis cafe in the adjacent center!

Had a fantastic lesson with Alan on Sunday. To start off he taught me everything I needed to know; safety, technique, equipment. This made me feel confident, safe and prepared when it came to getting on the water. I got a great session in on the lake, practicing turning, handling the odd wave and getting tips on how to improve my speed. Alan even took some photos for me so I can show my mates what great fun it was. Definitely got a taste for it now, so thanks Alan!

I’d highly recommend SUP North for anyone wanting to learn. You will get a fun, friendly and informative lesson from someone who knows what they’re talking about �

Had a fantadtic time this morning at my paddle board lesson. Alan was very approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. Fantastic service and with top quality equipment. Can't wait to have another go.

Great bunch and worth joining. I did the isup introduction with Lucy as a total novice about a month ago which gave me a great understanding of the principals of the sport and I was soon standing and paddling across Southport lake. All the basic manoeuvres were taught and some more advanced moves. All carried out in a very professional and informative fashion. They also hold a number of social events like the pursuit race which I attended on 24th July great evening paddling and seeing the differing performance of various board types. Looking forward to the next social event. Thanks to Lucy and all those involved in arranging these events and the drone camera footage was superb.

Fabulous intro to paddle boarding! Thankyou for you great tuition, all the tips and encouragement. Wife and son will book with you soon. Ruben, Ruben and Leslee.

Encouraged by friends who regularly paddle board, my wife purchased me a paddle boarding lesson as a Christmas gift. What an excellent gift!

My lesson was with Lucy on a perfectly calm evening on the lake. Lucy carefully explained the safety instructions before we got on the water. At every step Lucy was clear and patient, giving step by step instruction for me to gain confidence and skill in manoeuvring the board. The one and a half hour lesson was a perfect introduction to paddle boarding.

Thank you again Lucy for the excellent instruction. Looking forward to paddling again soon.

Could not recommend this enough. Great lesson from Alan who was very knowledgeable about all aspects of SUP, equipment, safety, technique etc... The lake seems the perfect location for beginners. It was my first time and I can't wait to get back on the water for another go.
