We need you!...
Survive is a registered charity, run by volunteers, that provides much needed counselling for local victims of abuse across south Cheshire. ... We’ve been established for over 20 years and are looking for an extra voluntary person to help with approx 4 hours admin support per week as we get busier. The hours are flexible to suit yourself and we would look to soon establish a regular routine that works well for everyone. We are based nearby at 156 Nantwich Road, Crewe, opposite the Beer Dock shop. We have 15 active counsellors on our books currently, providing around 130 individual sessions a month to over 40 clients. Simple Excel spreadsheet and Word knowledge is required, also varied admin, filing, phone answering and general office support is needed that Sally, our Admin Manager, can discuss with you if you think it’s something you might enjoy. The successful person would need to be reliable, friendly and very discrete and would be DBA checked, which we would pay for. Barry Bennell ex Crewe Alex & Manchester City youth coach has been sentenced to 31 years in custody for 50 counts of child sexual abuse. If you or anyone you know has been affected by Bennell or any other childhood abuse. Survive is here to help we offer one to one counselling and a group/ drop in every Thursday evening 6pm to 8pm. Just to let you know, Survive is run totally by volunteers, we all give our time experience and skills for free. As for charges we ask for a donation if people can afford to. However no one is ever turned away because they cannot make a donation. We work with a lot of clients who are unable to make a financial contribution. Money or lack of it will not stop you being seen by one of our counsellors.
