This is Kerys sporting an East Anglian Air Ambulance neckerchief at our Newmarket branch to advertise our charity quiz night in October. If you see yourself as a general knowledge guru or even just fancy a fun evening with lots of laughs with friends, get a team together and we’ll see you there! Details to follow.

This is Toffee. Toffee is more prone to corneal (eye) ulcers due to her face shape. Her lovely mummy was concerned she had developed an ulcer on her left eye and indeed she did! Under recommendation from an ophthalmologist, it was decided to try a technique to protect the surface of Toffee’s eye using her third eyelid whilst the ulcer healed, and it worked a treat!

Update on ‘Rocket’:
Do you remember the baby hedgehog who had to have a leg amputation? Well below is his story. He is doing fantastically well.
When he reaches a good weight he will be released back into the wild 😊

What personality type is your cat?!

Freddie is suffering from an autoimmune condition and his treatment means he needs regular bathing, and care and attention! So here are two of our nurses doing just that.
On this occasion there were lots of tangles in his ears but he tolerates brushing them out very well!

User

Nurse Sammi has been back in the kitchen, this time creating doggy ice-cream for our practice pooches on these hot days!

User

Congratulations to Mel at our Bury surgery who has just received a pass in her final exams, after 3 years of hard work she is now a qualified veterinary nurse

We've been seeing both Amy and Rachel for some time now and they've always taken great care of our fur babies. They've treated them as if they were their own and we appreciate all of their help with our kids as well as taking all the time with us and helping us. We highly recommend them to everyone and anyone. While we are now leaving we will always appreciate everything that both Amy and Rachel have done for us. We will miss you.

We have been taking our animals (dogs, cats and poultry) to Swayne & Partners since we moved to the area, and we have always found them to be very caring and efficient. Our cat was recently very sick with an illness which was not easy to diagnose, and the staff at Haverhill and Bury worked together, treating her appropriately and promptly eventually saving her life. I was made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. Whilst finances were not my priority I found the eventual bill to be quite reasonable bearing in mind the amount of treatment and time they spent saving my cat. I wouldn’t take my animals anywhere else.

Unfortunately, our only experience with the Bury branch was during an emergency situation that ended with our sweet dog passing away. It was a traumatic experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone but the compassion and care from the veterinarian and nurses was outstanding. By the time we made the decision to help our dog pass, it was getting late but the staff very kindly let us return home to pick up our children and other dog to say their goodbyes. I really feel that their having the chance to do this made all of the difference in their grieving process. Not once did the staff act as if we were inconveniencing them and we never felt rushed. The vet sat on the floor with my devastated children and explained to them honestly but gently exactly what was happening and why. They even got his paw prints for us. Two weeks later when our pet's ashes were available for us to collect, we were again treated with compassion and one of the vets sat down to speak with us privately and reassure us that we made the right decision. I can't say enough about the Bury branch. I will be forever grateful for everyone there.

The staff could not have been any more caring & understanding when we lost our dear Snoop after 13 & half years together, only two days after Christmas. Swaynes of Bury St. Edmunds, for the last 24 years, have cared for all our pets for which we are truely grateful.

User

The best vets in bury cannot do enough for you so caring to you and your fur babies they have done so much for us cannot praise them enough

User

Thank you for looking after our little girl Skye, staff were fantastic last night and today x

User

Thank you For looking after Henry. You never let us down. If only hospitals were as efficient. No waiting time just a good caring team .

User

Swayne and partners were amazing with our greyhound biddy (both the haverhill and bury vets) she came in with a fractured shoulder so she needed major surgery they were very thorough and cared for her so well making sure we were updated regular and making sure she was kept comfortable with regular pain control after surgery, shes on the way to recovery now but there still making sure shes having regular check ups, would recommend them for a high standard of care and support for us and our dog

User

Spoke to emergency vet last night who booked Tim in for 11 this morning, no hanging about to make the appointment, all staff friendly, and the vet was very thorough and explained everything that was going , definitely a practice that I would recommend to any animal owner 10/10 thank you to all of those I spoke to this morning

My rabbit Fred has been going here every 5 to 8 weeks for a bunny dental for the last 12 years and they are the most kind loving vets I’ve ever been around ( and I work with animals myself) best care and attention to detail of any vets I’ve ever seen

User

I’ve had Aimee and then Rachel as vets since I moved to newmarket and be it routine jabs or - unfortunately - previous bad news, they have been understanding and compassionate and looked after my bunnies with love. Would highly recommend to owners with small furries, it’s hard to find vets with so much knowledge of bunnies but they are amazing, as are the nurses!

I've been with Haverhill Branch for over a year now for the care of my pet ferrets. They are so friendly, caring and compassionate. They were wonderful last year when sadly one of my pets passed away. And recently one of my wee ferrets has an ongoing illness, the wonderful care of all the staff while she was in getting a procedure. The great follow up care and compassion of the Vets & Nurses I have dealt with in the last two weeks has been excellent. Many Thanks xx

User

I just want to say a massive heart felt thank you for taking such good care of my beautiful little nina, you were just amazing. Thank you for helping nina get through her procedure safely when it could have turned out so tragically. I am so eternally grateful your such an amazing veterinary surgery, I think everyone should come to the long melford swathe and partners for the best quality and people who genuinely care about animals and put them first.

I have been using Swayne & Partners now for approx 20 Years and would like to express that they are, in my opinion, the best vets by far. They are extremely friendly, kind, considerate and compassionate. Over the years my family have got to know a lot of the vets, nurses and receptionists and are on first name terms with them. Unfortunately, Thursday just gone, one of my babies died in our bedroom after Helen and Ben did all they possibly could for her, devasting and heartbreaking. I spoke to the vet the day she died, just to ask questions and to try and make me feel better, and they were as stunned as we were and very compassionate, to the extent that I received a condolence card. Many, many, thanks for all that you did for Topaz, she was a dog in a million, a real cherub, Debbie Garrod and family xxxx

User

Fantastic service last night when I brought my little dog in good advice given and would recommend you x

Duncan saw my cat last week, who is very nervous and has a heart problem. He literally means the world to me so i really worry about him being unwell. However as soon as i walked in the door i was put as ease and i think he understood my worries and scanned Muggles immediately, so neither of us had to wait long. Duncan and all the staff at Bury and Haverhill are lovely. I would not have any worries about taking him again if needed. Thank you for making my trip less stressful and looking after my boy!x

User

Duncan looked after Max our Goldy and was so kind when we had to say goodbye after 14 years . We are collecting Lottie a Golden retriever pup in 4 days and I can't imagine entrusting our dog with anyone else .

Having had pets for over 60 years he is without doubt the best vet on the planet.

Thank you.

User

Can't thank you all enough for the help and support given when we rushed our daughters rabbit in Saturday night. Unfortunately the out come wasn't good but the level of care and compassion shown by all the staff was outstanding. Thank you all for the support you gave us and for giving our little Reggie a dignified farewell

Brought my dog Pogo in with bladder stones and a uti and felt vet Sarah Sutton really cared for pogo and explained what can be done and a long term plan. So very pleased I moved my pogo to this surgery as previous vets just wanted costly operation after operation.
