Lemon tart gate update. I’m ASSURED that whilst they might appear to be an attempt to usurp my tart making authority they are, in fact, passion fruit tarts. PANIC OVER 😳😱🍾

User

NOOOOOOOO! This can’t be possible! I’m in Viviers but I’ve just seen evidence of two lemon tarts fresh out of the Abbot’s Elm ovens!!! I make the lemon tarts. DON’T EAT THE LEMON TARTS PEOPLE. Don’t encourage this mutinous behaviour. Where will it lead? Ballotines? Asparagus prep? NIP IT IN THE BUD. DON’T EAT THE LEMON TARTS!!!

Au fil du zinc. Nothing to say really 😂😂😂

Post-parkrun breakfast Chablis style 👍😂🥐🍾

Herewith a more considered reaction to the issue of food-related lifestyle choices (as opposed to genuine intolerances, allergies and dietary requirements).
The Abbot’s Elm is our first pub. Neither Julia nor I had previously eaten in a pub nor do either of us drink beer or frequent pubs. When we took this business on we knew absolutely nothing about the pub industry. I’m sure some would say I still don’t. What we did, and still do, understand is the importance of a rural pub...

You know what? I’ve had enough. Julia and I have spent a combined 80 years cooking. Every day with butter, milk, eggs and cream. If you don’t like our techniques or our menu eat somewhere else. And the vegans who sent me all the garbage about me being legally obliged to adapt my menu for them.......yes I’ll adapt it........I’ll take the venison off

User

We’d like to book a table for three please but one of our party is lactose intolerant. Could you make her a dairy free desert? She doesn’t fancy the home made sorbets. Oh. But but maybe I should mention we’re not going to turn up....... And people wonder why I have no patience with these people?

I couldn't work out how we could arrive at the Ledbury at 6.30 and still be there at midnight. Now I've seen the pictures I'm beginning to understand. Extraordinarily generous in every sense. Thank you The Ledbury Hospitality at its very very best. #michelin #ledbury #pinson #chablis

The 5th anniversary of our fringemog Sunday lunches. Thank you Morgan owners club for your incredibly kind words today, for your patronage and loyalty, and for this beautiful poster which will hang in pride of place next to the Olympic torch.

User

Went for the first time, Sunday lunch, great welcome, super ambience. The food was delicious, service and attention impeccable. Will be going again as often as possible.

Visited with a friend for lunch. The food was of a very high quality, freshly prepared and just enough. The presentation was appealing and imaginative. I had whitebait with a truly amazing tasty chutney style dipping sauce. My companion had the pea soup which looked fabulous. We both had the omelet Arnold Bennett. Very tasty and filling. The by the glass wine selection great for a luncheon. The staff were attentive and friendly without being over fussy. The meal was good value for the quality of ingredients and skill used to cook it. I have no hesitation in recommending The Abbot's Elm for a lovely lunch or an evening meal as I have been on a number of occasions. Dogs are welcome.

User

Thank you Julia, John and staff for a wonderful week at The Abbot's Elm. You could not have been more hospitable, the rooms were comfortable and the food delicious. You went out of your way to be accommodating at all hours and made the holiday perfect for all four of us. Hope the American invasion wasn't too noisy!! Would love to return for more Scotch eggs....

Superb meal last night. Ribeye was very succulent, staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Lovely surroundings, thoroughly recommend.

User

Really lovely welcoming pub/restaurant. The food was lovely (would have preferred thinner chips though as fat chips rarely have a nice texture), delicious and beautifully presented! Will definitely be returning.

User

My family had a meal yesterday, it was very nice , I had never been before , they had, but I will definitely be going again, the food was very well presented, very tasty, yummy in fact ! Thoroughly recommend The Abbott Elm . Lovely building and furnishings , and definitely lovely food and wine!

User

Lovely place exceptional food. We stayed for the night after a big family party, room was comfortable , superb hosts and a great breakfast too! Would happily return and recommend to people.

User

I've never had a bad meal here, and the service is always top notch. One of my favourite places to eat out, or simply enjoy a drink with friends.

User

I went yesterday for a birthday evening meal. I am a bit fussy about what I eat so thought I would struggle with the menu as the combinations weren't the norm. But pleased to say I was very wrong. The chef clearly knows how to put different flavours together; we all had something different and each dish was delicious. Will definitely go back again and already recommended to several friends. Ambiance and staff were lovely.

User

I went the The Elm for dinner with a few friends last night, can only compliment the place. The food and service were both excellent, have been several times and would say it's one of my favourite places around Huntingdon.

User

I must say that The Abbot's Elm is a lovely venue.

I had lunch there a few months ago it was very nicely presented & the staff friendly & helpful.

I was also there yesterday having drinks outside as it was a nice day.

So we chose to sit in the garden there.

We all had a great experience and will be back for sure.

Well done 👍

Had a really lovely meal tonight, have never been here before but really impressed. Great service from the 2 staff who were just brilliant and the food was lovely. I needed a gluten free menu and the choice was really good as was the taste. Atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. Will definitely be going back. Thanks to all

User

Fabulous meal Saturday evening. Food all very good. The best children menu we ever seen that went down well with picky eater.

User

Everything was excellent. Service, food venue we have been three times now and have been seated at different tables so we get a better feel for the old building but with a comtemporary feel and view. The only thing I would suggest is filling the pot holes in I. The car park the sandy texture laid turns to slush when wet and ruins ladies high heels. 9/10 would recommend this restaurant.

User

Cannot praise the food here enough it was superb... all four of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant is a beautiful mix of chocolate box thatch outside and a modern light and airy interior. 2nd visit...will be back

User

Beautiful place. Excellent food. Our room was perfect. Great staff.

User

At Abbots Elm with friends from Finland. From the start we felt really welcomed and the food was absolutely fabulous. As a bonus there was live music (two guys playing guitar and singing). Would warmly recommend Abbots Elm to anyone.

User

Good location pub/restaurant, standards of staff good, wine list reasonable with a good house Merlot, menu interesting and well cooked, decor warm without being dark. "I like it"

User

Stopped here on a Sunday lunch, no sandwich menu or light bites. Just extravagant expensive options as full courses. In the end staff agreed we could have burger and chips. Standard of service and food was excellent but as I cut through burger and bun the meat in the middle was lukewarm and light pink. Didn't expect that. Nice country restaurant to visit though.
