Follow our pubs circular walk, wash those boots and paws down and relax by the fire. For well behaved dogs we have plenty of Scooby snacks, help yourself.

User

Six weeks of summer holidays are coming to an end, so we are pretty certain you will be just about ready for a Pimm's by the river. Pop down to catch the last bit of sunshine and join us for a bite to eat and some well deserved beverages.

User

This British weather isn’t putting our customers off.

User

It’s the last day of the Bank Holiday Weekend so make the most of it. We have Gin, Pimms and Peroni in the Garden. Live music starts at 2pm, not to be missed. The ducks have waddled down to show their support.

User

With it being a rather damp Bank Holiday Sunday we think you’ll agree that a Sunday Roast is called for.
Contact us on 01254 826555 to book your table.

User

We are all set, the BBQ is lit, the games are ready, the Gin, Pimms and Peroni bars are open and we have live music from 2pm. We hope to see you this weekend.

User

Our monthly pub walk is taking place this Sunday 26th August. We start with a complimentary brew and bacon bap in the bar area from 9:30am. Susanne and the pack will lead you off for a steady 3 mile walk just before 10am and bring you back to the pub around 1.5 hours later. Upon your return we will have an outside Gin, Peroni and Pimms bar in the garden for you to quench your thirst.
Feel free to share this post with friends and family. All we ask is that you let us know if you plan to join in so we can have plenty of bacon ready for you.

User

We are on the hunt for Chefs at all levels to join our happy kitchen team. If you have a passion for fresh quality food, with ambition and pride in your job we would love to hear from you.

Pulling his last pint for a while is our Supervisor, Cameron. He is off on his travels to find himself and we’re pretty sure that involves touring the bars of south east Asia. We wish him all the very best and we’ll really miss his terrible jokes.

Under the marquee we will have a Gin, Pimm’s & Peroni bar.
We will also have live music in the garden everyday from 2pm onwards with the likes of Joe Martin, Arthur Geldard & Cherry Bomb back by popular demand.
... We will have some giant lawn games for the kids to enjoy (You big kids are also welcome to play)
The BBQ will be fired up from 12 noon and our full menu served outside on the terrace tables.
All you need do is sit back, relax with a G&T and enjoy our beautiful garden on the river with some great music and fabulous company.

If you’re after an excuse to pop in for a pint, here it is... International Beer Day 2018.

User

Our monthly pub walk is taking place this Sunday as usual. However, we need to let you know that the river is at it's lowest and the green algae is thriving which makes it very dangerous for dogs. Please don't let your dog in the river and keep your poochies safe!🐕🐕🐕 As always, comment below so we know how many bacon butties we need. See you Sunday!

User

We went last night and had a fantastic meal. It was busy when we arrived but we had booked a table earlier that day. Sat outside by the river for a couple of drinks before we dined and a lovey atmosphere and views. We didn’t realise they did BBQ food too so can’t wait to come back with the children. Service was brilliant they couldn’t do enough to help, checking we were ok and if we needed any more drinks throughout the evening. The food was delicious would totally recommend to anyone. We can’t wait to return. Thank you for a lovely evening x

User

We have visited the ‘Aspinall’ several times over the last few weeks. We enjoy a long dog walk followed by a few drinks and food. With a wonderful cosy atmosphere, roaring log fires, super, friendly attentive staff led by Susanne a wide choice of lovely food we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this dog friendly pub.

User

We had a lovely barbacue in the beer garden yesterday the food was lovely, staff very friendly and helpful too, we go to this pub on a regular basis, you wouldn’t find a nicer pub in a nicer setting than this one.

User

Visited this Lunchtime with family. Two of which are over 85 years old and one is wheelchair bound and has only use of one arm.

I cannot thank the wonderful wait staff enough! Every single staff member had a huge welcoming smile and were very polite. Our main server was a young dark haired lady (unfortunately didn’t catch her name) who went out of her way on more than one occasion to accommodate our needs. We had to request that my great aunts food be pre cut for her as only having use of one arm she cannot use a knife and fork, they happily did so, my grandmother is extremely fussy about how she likes her coffee so she explained exactly what she wanted and how she wanted it and they made it perfectly!

The food was absolutely delicious and the creme brûlée was one of the best I’ve tasted!

Our server would check back regularly to ensure we had drinks, if we needed sauces, see how we were enjoying our meal and was lovely and chatty whilst we were paying and clearing away the table.

Overall a really enjoyable experience and will definitely return!

User

Had my daughter's 30th there tonight with the family Atmosphere staff and food was brilliant Would highly recommend to go All my family really enjoyed every minute Thank you all for making it special 5without a doubt

User

Fantastic day at the jazz and gin festival today, staff were brilliant - very friendly even when rushed off their feet because it was so busy. Great food at a fantastic price, and excellent atmosphere on a lovely sunny bank holiday. Shall certainly be returning soon ! X

User

Busy sunny Saturday afternoon so thought we’d struggle to get seated and fed. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, sorted us out a table straight away, good selection of beers at the bar, food order was taken quickly and the food arrived promptly. Quality of food was excellent and the staff were absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, it makes a nice change to be treated like that, well done whoever is in charge, your staff are a credit to you and your business.

User

Absolutely amazing.. I eat out alot and I have to say this place is one of the best around... the Sunday roasts are amazing packed with goodness and not shy on the portion either 10/10

User

Came across by accident today lovely garden setting overlooking river. Busy but we arrived at 12.30 and food served at 1.45 ? Could only eat on terrace and lovely bar great food staff helpful but need to get food served much faster . From car park entrance is confusing and great selection of gins and good bar but they need to improve food service fast as so many others good food pubs near

User

The food is normally very nice and the setting is beautiful but the service is shocking and has been every time we’ve been. Each time we hope it will have improved but it never has unfortunately. Every time you want a drink, a menu, your table clearing, condiments, dessert menu, the bill etc, you have to ask and it’s as though the staff are purposely trying to avoid eye contact then you can’t ask anything of them. A shame as it could be amazing.

User

Beautiful setting!

Service is slow and never any clean tables.

Told food wasn’t being served on the picnic benches yet plates were left in that area and people eating on the benches.

Went to order our food for inside. During order told they weren’t serving walk-ins so we got dismissed. Very rude and not best communication or customer service.

Shame as we love coming here.

More staff needs hiring to manage to work load, especially with this nice weather.

User

Very disappointed. They used to be very good but the food and especially the service has been very poor the last few times we've eaten there. We had to wait 1.5 hours for main course to be served even though the table was pre-booked. They were running late and said they'd just clean the table we'd reserved. We ordered coffee whilst we waited but they forgot about us and gave the table to someone else! They left us waiting for 45 minutes! When eventually seated, no menus, no drinks, I had to ask for a drink order to be taken and for the water to be replenished. They never asked if we wanted a second drink even though all glasses were empty by the time the food arrived. After about 20 minutes of finishing the main course, we asked for the bill and left without ordering dessert since no service was provided. Unbelievable, it wasn't even busy and tables were empty! We were taken as guests so we didn't feel we were in a position to complain to the Management but I know they weren't happy at all and they felt quite embarrassed as it was their suggestion we go to Aspinalls. They're trading off past reviews of good food and service and they need improve there game. On last visit the chicken was raw in the middle and we had to wait for it to be replaced. We won't be going back anytime soon.

User

The 2 stars are purely for tge grounds and location. They held a gin and jazz festival which they were not prepared for. The outside bbq was overpriced bought in frozen products and the chefs needed consumer advice on cooking. Long waits for food inside which again wasnt overwhelmingly good .

User

My friends arrived at 5.30 ordered drinks found a table, there were plenty available. Went to order food to be told they were booked to capacity? How does that happen in a half empty pub. we were going to join them for a few drinks but that has been scuppered.... We won't be hurrying back there anytime soon. The polite way would have been to state they were fully booked when they arrived not to wait until they had already bought drinks.

User

We went last night Saturday 23rd June around 7:00 pm. We asked for a table for 2. We were told no tables for 2. We noticed tables empty for 4 or more but we weren’t offered anything. Not even have a drink & the first table free we will allocate to you. Really unhelpful staff. Most annoying thing was there were tables free they just couldn’t be arsed attitude. Well thank goodness for The Eagle @ Barrow we were made most welcome & enjoyed a lovely meal. Get your act together.

User

Unfortunately they do not cater for people that do not eat meat & have alcohol in their food.

The vegetarian menu is extremely limited !

Regardless of attempts to accommodate your specific needs the majority of the menu is pre-done hence having limited choices !

For a Valentine's Meal it was rather disappointing as I was left with no meal whilst my friends ate there's.

I ended up having a dish from the children's menu half an hour after my freinds. 😢

User

Turned up on my Birthday for a meal and got told they wouldn’t seat us because we hadn’t booked, despite there being lots of empty tables, and the fact that we had rang twice and nobody answered. Went elsewhere instead and had a lovely meal, so won’t be going back to the Aspinall Arms!

User

Travelled over an hour as recommended by friends sat for 2 hours waiting for food only to find out the waitress forgot to put our order through - very disappointed

User

Sunny day so lots of people tend to go there because of the beer garden. If you want to wait forever to be served, encounter rude staff (not all but some are very rude) and listen to rowdy idiots in the beer garden... fill your boots!

The 2 stars are purely for tge grounds and location. They held a gin and jazz festival which they were not prepared for. The outside bbq was overpriced bought in frozen products and the chefs needed consumer advice on cooking. Long waits for food inside which again wasnt overwhelmingly good .

Sunny day so lots of people tend to go there because of the beer garden. If you want to wait forever to be served, encounter rude staff (not all but some are very rude) and listen to rowdy idiots in the beer garden... fill your boots!
