What a beautiful setting just spent the most wonderful afternoon here, food & drink amazing highly recommend.

We've been here several times now. It's the perfect country pub. The staff are just lovely, and the food is absolutely first class. Beautifully presented, cooked to perfection. And that view! The Black Boy is a wonderful example of how to make a classic country pub work. I've recommended it to anyone with ears! Congratulations to staff and owners. Keep doing what you're doing. You're epic!

We had a very enjoyable family lunch here. There was a good amount of choice on the menu. The food was excellent and there was a good amount of choice on the menu - I had the best Sunday roast I've had in ages, in fact. The meat and vegetables were beautifully cooked and there were enough roast potatoes even for me. In addition to the marvellous food the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient and the pub is located in a very scenic village and countryside. A great find.

User

The pub is as it should be...warm, friendly staff and great food. The four of us had a fantastic Sunday roast trying the beef, lamb, and pork. All were delicious and the Yorkshire pudding fantastic. Ales were good , scenery and seating was great. Wish I could be there next Sunday as well!

Meet family who had never been before for lunch. Even though it was very busy we were shown to our table straight away. Lucky for us we had a window seat so could enjoy the magnificent view through the heavy rain. All meals were excellent with plenty of choice at reasonable prices. Served by friendly helpful staff. Have recommended to others so hope I can get a table on my return.

User

Love this pub. Great food, efficient and friendly service. Dogs welcome too which is a big bonus for us.

User

I held my 50th birthday party at the black boy in the marquee. The party was fabulous and the wonderful staff , waiting /bar / chefs / land lord made the night a success. I couldn’t have asked for better.

User

Excellent food and friendly service all provided within a beautiful setting

User

Beautiful location, good atmosphere, clean and very nice decor. Good, prompt service. Been twice now for Sunday lunch and lovely food both times. Will go again for sure.

User

We had a lovely Sunday roast although I think as it was 2.00pm, my roast potatoes were a bit dried out and therefore I could have done with more gravy. However, this is nit-picking because I could have asked but didn't (so it can't have been that bad!). Lovely, pub, good food and exactly what we needed on our day out walking.

User

Lovely historic pub, in a beautiful English setting, and fantastic views from the beer garden... with great real ale (the pint I had was perfectly kept), just my kind of place. I wish it were closer!

I didn't try the food, which is the only reason why I felt I couldn't give it maximum stars.

User

Food excellent the only negative was the level of service was poor, having to wait 40 minutes for the sweet menu having to request the menu twice having been offered the menu in the first place. However I could see all the staff were busy all the time so either needs more waiting staff or a particular waiter/waitress serving a set number of tables may help.
