The Blue Anchor Bretherton : All-You-Can-Eat Description
The Blue Anchor Pub is situated in a small village called Bretherton in Lancashire. We serve an all you can eat hot pub grub buffet with salad bar Monday to Saturday from 12noon until 8. 30pm for £4. 99.
Options available vary daily, but where stock allows we generally have battered cod, chips and mushy peas, steak and potato hotpot, beef lasagne, curry, rice and poppadoms, lambs liver, pork sausages, casserole, a variety of vegetables, pan fired vegetables a sweet chilli sauce (or variety) a vegetable bake plus a salad bar. Most items are gluten free and all allergens are displayed on the large screen above the counter. Other options are available which vary on a daily basis.
Sunday carvery from (12 noon until 8pm) is also very popular with several options available: -

Main course and a dessert £10. 95
all three courses £11. 95

The carvery offers 5 choices of meat, pork, chicken, gammon, turkey and beef and the accompaniments are boiled and roast potatoes, spring cabbage with cajun spice, pan fried vegetables in a sweet chilli sauce, mashed carrots, sprouts in a cream of black pepper sauce, plus Yorkshire puddings all topped with our homemade stock gravy.

The first Carvery of 2019 is served.....
And there we have it.... the 2019 mini refurb is now complete. Thanks to Syd Williams for all the pointing work and rebuilding the boiler room chimney in sub zero temperatures, to Ryan, Dave and Steve for all the quality, clean and impactful painting work, JSJUK bespoke joiners for supplying Rob and Dan (quality work on the bar Dan), to John Hinchliffe for the fencing around the bins and the walk way to the park, to John Hart for being the sparky on demand, to Tom Frankland f...or outside painting and kitchen prep (plus entertainment) and Michele, Brian and Sheila for their efforts today restoring our readiness for service tomorrow. All in all, a great team effort, thank you everyone, we could not do it without you all. Open as usual tomorrow - Saturday 5th Jan at 12 noon. (For those who have asked, breakfast service resumes next week - Jan 12th). Hope to you all soon 🙂
