We stayed 2 nights, the staff were very friendly and efficient, the pub was full of people having a good time and lovely dogs of all description in the bar. The food was fantastic, the Lamb Henry was lovely and the homemade pies were very tasty. Don't miss this little gem, we can't wait to return, that is if we can get in anytime soon..10 out of 10..Bob and Jill Standell, Runswick Bay.

User

We spent a few days at the Britannia Inn as part of a birthday weekend break away. Venue, staff and food all first class made the weekend and of course the snow just made it that little bit more special. Thank you

User

We popped into this lovely warm friendly pub after a day out walking. The ales were great and the food well what can I say, superb! My husband had the lamb and I had the sirloin steak it was the best meal we’d had all weekend. Would definitely recommend it.

User

We have just really enjoyed 2 midweek nights at The Brit. Room 3 at the front of the pub is great with its enormous bed and the separate bathroom is no big problem. Very dog friendly which was great for us. It does get very busy at meal times but for good reason and the place is so well run and the staff so friendly and efficient we loved every minute. We’d definitely go back. Thoroughly recommended.

User

Thank you for making us feel very welcome and for a lovely family meal

User

Lovely people, tremendously helpful, and I think really excited with us when our luggage appeared after two days. Great food, from crispy chicken with no grease, to excellent burgers, todelish baked camembert, to perfect fish and chips. Sweet rooms, with modern en suites that did not detract at all from the older English public house experience. I hope we can come back for a longer stay than 2 nights.

User

Great pub in a gorgeous location, super friendly staff, lovely food, clean and comfy bedrooms. Perfect place to stay :-)

User

Great food, great location and awesome views! Would love to go back but for pleasure next time and not work so I have time to enjoy it better !

User

Excellent beer and food and good service from nice people. Excellent location

User

Another visit to one of my favourite pubs in the lakes. Lamb was fab as always and the wine wasn’t too bad either

User

Absolutely perfect meal out for me and the mrs .as usual first class staff and food could not fault one bit.would recommend to any one after a cozy warm friendly pub in the heart of the lakes even if it’s just for a pint.

User

What a great pub we just booked last minute and stayed one night . A proper cosy pub with nice rooms. The food is great in fact too good huge lamb Henry.

A cosy pub in a great village. They are very dog friendly too

User

We didn't stay. Just food and a beer. This Inn is a very popular location and especially in good weather, very busy. Food is good and reasonably priced. It doesn't try to be modern and trendy, which appeals to me. Lovely experience and friendly helpful staff.

User

Great setting, lovely food, miserable barman really rude! Such a shame as everything else was great! Would have been 5 stars if he managed a smile!

User

Great place to stay. We have two dogs and they were made very welcome. Ideal location and the breakfast was great too

User

Great friendly country pub serving food and real ale. Used by walkers as its very near the Langdale peaks and is also dog friendly.

User

Good food, good service, good memories of years ago

User

Two of our meals were substandard and one we were given a refund after it was replaced with undercooked food. We have been visiting this pub on and off for 15 years. The standard of food has definitely decreased. Will not eat here again, but will call in for a drink if the weather is good. I think the chef must have had the night off. You can get better at Marks & Spencer’s!

User

I think it's wrong that just because I used the wi-fi at The Brittania that they then post to everyone on my friends list that I was at that pub. It may have been that there are people on that list who I don't want to know of my whereabouts. This is a gross ,uninvited invasion of my privacy. I have used the wi-fi in ,probably, a hundred establishments like this over the years and none of those ever published the fact that I have been there.
