Who likes the Carousel ? !
Went here for my daughter’s 9th birthday yesterday (22nd September 2017) staff are very pleasant and very helpful and food was out of this world loved everything about this place will be definitely going back again
I really enjoyed my Surf and Turf, cooked to perfection and washed down with a pint of IPA. Staff service was excellent. I really can't understand some of the negative comments I have read....still, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Loved it!
Had a beautiful lunch here yesterday, food was amazing as were the staff, definitely be returning again soon
Came in here for the first time yesterday and I have to say it was fantastic steak on a sizzling plate plenty of chips and onion rings to share will definitely be back �
Was busy when we went but still got food pretty quick great service good food can't wait to see new menu
The food was nice and hot we had Steak and ale pie. The chips are really nice too. We felt a bit sorry for the staft as they were running about trying to do everything as only two staff on. Trying to serve customers behind the bar, bring out meals and clearing up. Maybe three would be better especially this time of year otherwise they will be frazzled when Christmas arrives. Just our observations.
Not as good as launch night in fairness, sirloin steak was quite small and fatty also ran out of buffalo sauce. All good apart from that

Came yesterday with my daughter sun 24 june staff were lovely very helpful my daughter always gets the nachos for starters but they were very spicy not like they used to be need to go back to how you used to serve nachos these are to spicy but the main meals were very good couldn't fault them at all food was piping hot would definitely come again !!
We went last night for tea my food was burnt the steak to tough to eat the sausage was off and when I spoke to the waiter he couldn't answer my question he was a little embarrassed. He was doing all the work on his own I asked why he's run ragged and he said "oh there is another waitress but she feels dizzy so not doing much ". No team work in there last night .
I used to go a lot but haven't bn for a while , have to say it's gone down quiet a bit, starters was good , hubby ordered steak with a pepper sauce on it , steaks have gone smaller , it came out burnt and full of grizzle so hubby left half of it ! So I gave him my chicken fillet as I had a surf and turf my dinner was ok but nothing to good didn't look appetizing about 6 chips some mushrooms 4 scampi small steak and a small chicken fillet took quiet a while to come to the table ! In the past the waitress who served you would come and ask was everything ok my husband waited but she never came round so he ate what he could and left over half 'the steak ! When I finished mine I took the plates to the bar and explained what was wrong the man behind the be tried fobbing me off by saying it was bizzy but the pub wasn't even half full , he changed his mind when my hubby came to the bar and said it's the worst he's had and un eatable and disappointing as in past very nice food he then offered him a pint to make up for it but we were ready for going home then we notised the people who were Sat in front of our table(5) they had left about half there steak as well it's going down in there and yes it's getting to look grubby and the ceiling near that table is coming down needs looking at ! So different from six months ago , I don't think we will go in there again , it's a shame was lovely food good service and plesent seroundings!
As much as i used to enjoy this place went for sons 1st birthday on a Tuesday afternoon when it was completely dead. Staff still fail to tell you they are out of stuff that is supposed to come with your meal. I got offered a trial shift here. I should have gone because I could do a better job
Went yesterday, not been for a few years. Food was ok to be fair not the best and certainly not the worse I've had. Place was very quiet at lunch time. I suppose you pay for what you get 2 meals for 9.99 so if your on a budget it's fine ..wasn't a special occasion, just a catch up with a friend :)
Steak was raw, sent it back to receive another full meal. Then waited 40 minutes to get 3 ice creams. One of them was served in a warm glass so it was slop. Ridiculous
Food was cold and not enough, not a bit of salads or garnish (have they chang the chef ?!!) What ever happened to all those big plate of food Carousel used to serve? ?!! Sunday 3.00 PM very quite! !!?
Ate here many times but not so much recently after bad reviews but tonight we decided to try. Staff are great - food just doesn’t match! Cold, just the wrong side of cooked; although wouldn’t go as far as undercooked! Lemonade flat; garlic bread tasted odd, left a funny aftertaste. Burger average, waffle fries greasy. Waitress apologised but we just left. Overall disappointing which is a real shame compared to much better standard in the past when we’d go in every week. Like a lot of my friends - all local to the Carousel - I agree we won’t be back. Shame that this means we just can’t support local business (and some good staff)!
Just informed that if you get grill stuff on the sizzling pan you’ve got more chance of a better meal . . . Won’t test the theory.
Went last night food was shocking after waiting an hour for it to arrive. Was told they had no large steak left only small and when it arrived it was smaller than small burnt to a crisp and very fatty. Left half my dinner on the plate. Won't be going back😡
Until recently nice food and well present tho always a long wait. .last couple of weeks we have been disappointed. .tonight we tried again and took a friend. .was embarrassing

Very sad for what could be an excellent place
Pore service waited 10/15 mins for my food wile the other on our table finished there food then for it to come wrong to be sent bk again and come yet again wrong.asked for a refund only to be talked to like crap. Then had the cheek to bring over a plate of chips and a toasted barm as a good gesture� I mean does that really come close to a xl mixed grill. Total piss take
