User

Just had a gorgeous meal at the Carriers Inn with friends for our Christmas meal out, lovely friendly atmosphere, every meal was delicious and the place is decorated very tastefully with a log fire burning in the grate, just what you need on a cold winters day

User

I've been coming here every year with my family for 25 years straight, so much that it's become a true Christmas tradition for us. The food, drink, service and atmosphere has always been outstanding and they always do their best to make you feel as welcome as possible. Perfect stop on your way from Delamere Forest. Thank you, Carriers!

User

I ate here for the first time on a very busy hot day, yet the food still arrived at the table in no time. I ordered the seabass, with a side of chips and had to take half of it away with me as the portion sizes were a lot bigger than I expected!

We sat in the garden with my dog, and when asked if they could provide a little dinner for my pup because I'd forgotten to bring bring food, they rustled up some chicken, rice and greenbeans as I'd requested! He seemed very pleased with his meal too! :D As well as all that the waiting on staff were all very lovely and very efficient! Will most definitely be dining here again!

User

Have passed this restaurant so many times and finally had chance to stop. Beautiful setting overlooking the lake, staff ever so friendly and the food was perfect

Reminded me of places in France we have stopped at many times!

Food was very tasty and very well presented- we both had pâté which was lovely but could have done with more toast

Lamb meal I had was again very very tasty but think one more chunk of lamb would have been better

Will definitely eat here again and will spread the wird

User

Food, service, atmosphere, fantastic! The staff were so friendly and welcoming it just made you feel at home. Fairy lights all over setting the scene to a warm and inviting entrance. I had prawns and avocado to start and it didn’t only look amazing it tasted amazing, presentation was 5*. Sea bass fillets for main and it was cooked to perfection, meaty tender with a crisp skin. The chorizo in the crushed new potatoes was a spice of delight and highly welcomed. Can’t wait to come again xxx

User

Excellent pint of Cumberland brew, splendid chips, very friendly staff. Makes a nice change from a grumpy service received few years back. Will definitely return.

User

Called in to the Carriers for a family meal today early evening - great menu

Wishing Angela every success with this new venture - excellent food and service

User

Called in on Thursday evening for Dinner, the menu has an excellent choice, staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was simply delicious and cooked to perfection. I can’t fault this place at all, the new owners are doing a fantastic job! Keep it up

User

A Dog friendly pub in delemere. The most friendly and helpful staff. Brilliant atmosphere in an amazing location.

User

Just had lunch today, 5-4-18 & chatted to the gorgeous Boss lady Angela. good food, fine beer & with the sunny day all was fine. :-)

User

We have frequented this bar/restaurant for too many years to remember (sometimes 3 or 4 times a week), we've been as a couple and with family and friends. We visited last week for a late lunch which as usual was excellent but as we we're eating another couple we're leaving from the adjoining room with a huge dog. We subsequently asked the waiter if the new owners we're now allowing dog's into the pub and we're advised that they we're and there was no designated dining area for those with dog's but that it would all depend on the size of the dog, it's behaviour and where they could sit them. As I am asthmatic and one of the things that triggers my asthma is dog's it now means we will no longer be able to come to this bar/restaurant. We do frequent other pubs that have designated areas for dogs and I have no problems. I hope the new manager Angela reads my review and may consider having a designated area for diners with dogs so that customers like myself can continue to enjoy this establishment.

User

Sorry guy's, probably the fourth time I've been in approx 2 years, has been much better, sign of the times I think, only about 15 people in at 8 pm on a Saturday night. Think revaluation required, £19 for a mixed grill in a virtually empty pub ? Apart from the chunky chips which tasted odd it was ok but not worth that money, sorry, I wish you the best of luck but I won't be rushing back.

User

Used to be our local but unfortunately the menu has changed and is very limited. For a table of 6 only half of us could find something we liked. We ended up having to leave and go elsewhere. Such a shame.

User

Don't visit on a mild winters day with your dog. Says dog friendly online but was told we could go in the garden, however don't expect to be served there as it was too cold and the staff wouldn't go outside. #fail

User

been visiting the restaurant for years with my wife went last night very disappointed with the service it took 27 minutes after ordering drinks before we received our drinks of water and diet coke they said they were sorry for the delay as there was a engagement party drinking champagne so it seems to get served straight away we all must drink champagne we eat here because of the choice of gluten free on the menu but last night something went wrong as i was glutend spent all night in bathroom being ill
