We’ve been fortunate enough to visit some amazing restaurants, however the Cherry Tree has to be number 1! You couldn’t pick a single fault the food, it was amazing! The drinks selection was brilliant as well and the service was fantastic from entering to leaving. Can’t wait for our next visit!

This is definitely one of our go to restaurants! The food is always absolutely perfect and service with a smile. Cannot fault this place definitely one of best restaurants in the area. Had a fantastic meal this evening with not a single complaint from our table. 5 stars every time

My first visit to The Cherry Tree and it will be the first of many. Fantastic dining experience from the moment we arrived. Food and service were excellent.



It was also the Pub Quiz evening which was a great laugh and good fun.



Would most certainly recommend and the fact that the car park was packed out on a Wednesday evening speaks for itself about the quality of the food and service at this restaurant.

Massive thank you to Tom and The Cherry Tree team for allowing us to celebrate my husband's 30th Birthday last night. We we're a large party of 24, the service was excellent and the staff we're very attentive. The food was amazing as always and not one of us had a bad thing to say about any aspect of the night. Just spent the evening here for my wife's birthday...a special treat off my mother in law who lives locally.

First time here for my wife and I, and I must say we were very impressed....the service was excellent and the food absolutely delicious.

As it was a busy Saturday evening the place was understandably packed and the noise level was a tad too loud to fully enjoy a quiet conversation. However, that was just a tiny negative, and the meals more than made up for that!

I had the superb 'melt in the mouth' braised beef mains, my wife the pan-fried chicken breast and my MIL had the battered cod, chips and peas. All of us commented on the quality of our food and 'clean plates' were left.

A little later in the evening our table was needed by a larger party, and we were offered complimentary desserts to be eaten in the lounge area; again we were impressed with the choices we'd made, nothing could be faulted.

Along with espresso martinis for the ladies and coffee for me, the evening was rounded off very nicely indeed.

We shall definitely return, even though we had a long drive coming all the way from Stoke for the occasion !

Typically been 5 stars on a consistent basis in the past. Yesterday the courgette and Black pepper soup was exceptional along with the sea bass. I was disappointed with the chocolate cheesecake and raspberry and white chocolate baked croissant because it seemed to be made in a factory and not homemade like the soup and main. When I returned to the car park noticed several empty plastic creates on the floor from Greenhalghs and was wondering if that was where our desserts came from. On previous visits had a watermelon tart which was exceptional and looked amazing. It also took over 30 mins for our desserts to arrive and a futher 20 mins for the bill. Also noted a funny smell from the bins and rubbish over spilling. That a side staff were as always friendly and the Cherry 🍒 Tree 🌲 is my favourite location to dine or meet up. The raspberry, vanilla and Martini cocktail 🍸 was a very nice change and really enjoyed it! I only leave this honest feedback as I would hate standards at the Cherry Tree to drop from its exceptional attention to detail. The manager has typically exceeded all my expectations for years in food and customer service.

Cracking meal once again,but I think it’s time for a change of menu,as I’m struggling now for something different to eat,the food is always nice and staff are very friendly and attentive,maybe a specials menu for the day,this not a complaint as I love the food,just need a different choice of dishes/menu.Thanks keep up the good work.

Booked a table for a Surprise Birthday Meal for my wife and our two daughters last night. Invited Relatives as part of the Surprise. Had a great evening. The food was delicious and arrived at the table hot. The service was excellent. I cant praise the chef and staff enough. Outstanding Evening. We are all looking forward to our next family get together at the Cherry Tree. Well Done.

Was v impressed on our first visit, food and service was excellent. Visited twice since and both times it was disappointing. Main course took 90 mins to arrive due to a printing error in the kitchen, although one meal was deleted off the bill I thought the Manager making jokes about the situation distasteful. On our last visit the service was better but the beef was dry. Won't return any time soon.

We visited today and were a group of 4. We had booked our table but had to wait 25 minutes to be seated despite there being obvious free tables.

Our order was taken while we were in the bar waiting for our table. We waited considerable time for both our starter and main course.

Service was really poor and my daughters lunch was burnt which was hugely disappointing as we waited over an hour for it !

Very expensive disappointment

Waited 50 minutes and my daughter's steak was inedible. Lady who came to our table said rump was naturally fatty. So fatty you couldn't cut it with a steak knife ?. Potoato rosti that came with my mums chicken was cold. Condescending and rude staff. And then we were told that it was because it was a nice day and people were sat outside so they were busy ? Will certainly not be returning

So disappointed. Was my favourite place to eat.

Went with friends last night & we were rushed all night.

We sat down at the table as soon as we got there & were asked if we were ready to order before we had even seen a menu. Turkey was dry. Sprouts were hard. Parsnips were soggy. Brandy sauce on Xmas pud was soild. Didn't have time to breathe between courses. We had to move into the bar for coffee as they needed the table-we weren't told we could only have it for 2 hoyrs. Disappointing

I had looked forward to this for a couple of weeks as a full family get together is a very rare and special event.

We carefully selected the venue and on arrival we were all very well impressed.

But we soon learned that the window dressing sadly didn’t reflect what the evening had to offer.

We were a party of 7, 5 adults and 2 small children.

Our first issue was with the children’s meals, a burger off the children’s menu was just a simple over cooked burger on a huge bread roll, no dressing, no garnish, no salad, nothing and when we called the waiter to ask “is this it” we got attitude.

Then the adult main courses arrive, two turkey dinners with virtually raw veg and roast potatoes that were impossible to cut, fish and chips, running with oil, and roast beef chewier than an elastic band .... needles to say, when the waiter finally approached us to ask “is everything ok” we told him of our disappointment.... to which he said he would speak to management on our behalf.....

after 15 minutes, still not having any response, we called for the bill, to be told that they would forgo the charge on the salad for the Burger ( they were going to charge us for it) and a discount on the rest of th e meal ... well we paid it and left ... I hope you got a good look at our faces, because we won’t be coming back ...

Not sure if they’ve changed the chefs or not but it was a real let down today. At least the dessert was knocked off the bill for us. Never complain when I eat out but I just had to today.

Came here for lunch with my husband for Valentine’s. Wish we hadn’t bothered!

It’s a good job we’re not the romantic type. It’s usually really nice when we’ve been before but today was awful! The cod and sea bass dishes were badly cooked - soggy skin on fish and the creme brûlée was a shambles! Runny underneath so I left it. Not sure if they’ve changed the chefs or not but it was a real let down today. At least the dessert was knocked off the bill for us. Never complain when I eat out but I just had to today.
