I’m really surprised to see such poor reviews on here. We travelled from cornwall to Blackpool and had a lovely tea in the counting house before the theatre, the food was fresh hot and cheap plus served quickly ! The lady member of staff was lovely helpful and polite even gave the kids some sweets :)

Only fault I would say was the disabled toilet could do with a tidy up but I didn’t come to enjoy the toilet I came for the food and the service and that I couldn’t fault at all :)

Came here tonight, we enjoyed some lovely food and the staff are super friendly! Came to our table to see if we were okay, if I could rate more than 5 stars I would!

Came down to Blackpool with my girlfriend for a little holiday and we came across The Counting House and went in for a meal on Friday & today and both days have to say the food was lovely and staff were really friendly, came up to see if everything was ok with our food which it was :)

User

Lovely food and polite staff that went above and beyond to give good customer service

I liked it . Great meal . Great service. . Only downside I understand it was farmer's weekend and like ppl having fun . But when we were having a game of pool they were on the boxing punch bag yellling . Spilling drinks . One girl was allowing guys to ubdo her top ( no respect ) . And a guy thought it was ok to sit on pool table while we were playing . If this was stopped id return as it's a lovely place

User

The ladies toilets were disgusting toilets say alot about a place !! Bar staff cant fault them pay them more than 7.50 a hr then you may get more staff so we can have clean toilets

User

Lovely food great service only let down was the long wait for the food to arrive staff were very friendly helpful xxx

User

It was OK but nothing special. Bar staff were friendly enough but there seemed to be more than a fair share of drunk people in there and it was quite early. Lacked a good atmosphere, however we'll probably try it again sometime

User

Ill give this pub a 3. Mainly because its a nice friendly pub with decent beer, but if you need to use the toilets...i really wouldnt. Seats not attached, toilets not secured and a general s##thole in the toilets. Great pub spoilt by dirty facilities.

User

Hash browns still frozen, eggshell on the egg, asked for medium rare and a well done steak, when questioned the food carrier did not know which was which, lukewarm chips and sausage, used to be a good place to eat , will not be back

User

Worst pub & worst service in Blackpool, had to walk out & go elsewhere as I was continually ignored at the bar

User

Wont go again. Waited 15 minutes to be served when everyone around us was being served so walked out in the end .gave a score of 1 because there wasn't a zero to score

Ordered four Sunday dinners and were told we had a half hour wait, which you think "fair enough"....after over an hour went up to the bar to ask for a refund, was fobbed off by saying we had to wait for a Becky coming back. The woman we spoke to could have easily sorted our issue out. Finally got a refund but didn't appreciate the staff "eye rolling" as we left. The toilets are up steep stairs and the old urine smell on the carpets is a turn off aswell as sticky hand rails. Saw our dinners and to be frank wouldn't have given them to my dog. Dried gravy and unappetising looking food so obviously been sitting on the hot plate. Dread to think how they cope when it's busy.

Let me count the ways that this dive merited this review.

1. Three bar staff doing a job that could easily have been done by one. This meant poor customer service, leaving me standing twiddling my thumbs while they reassured each other that they were very busy. (The pub was NOT busy.)

2. Drinks served in plastic glasses. The smell and taste of whatever antiseptic agent used to wash them absolutely ruined the taste of the drinks.

3. Charged £10 for a glass of wine. I asked for a receipt as my Rip off radar was in overdrive. Almost €20 for two cokes, a pint of Coors and a wine!!!

4. Whether a lack of honesty or a lack of competence allowed the barmaid to still not recognise her “error”, either are unfortunate in a person in her position. We had to query the price before she “realised” that she had charged for a bottle of wine instead of a glass. She did at that point correct the mistake.

5. Toilets are up a fair flight of stairs, all the way your nostrils will be assaulted by the smell of stale smoke and an odour of general uncleanliness.

Be prepared for the bare minimum of standards if you are unfortunate enough to cross the threshold.

Had to wait an eternity for the food toilets were disgusting , The food was tepid when it did come the carrots were so under cooked if you planted them I am sure they would have grown. Tables were sticky if you want a good meal eat elsewhere. Definitely will not be back here there is nothing positive I could say about this place the best advice is do not eat here .
