What a beautiful place, one of the nicest in the Lakes if not the nicest I have stayed at.

On arrival the lovely friendly girl on reception informed me that we had been upgraded free of charge, a room with the Grasmere valley right out of our window. Spectacular. The room was immaculate and spotlessly clean, a bed that was the biggest bed I have ever seen, a super king, really comfortable, the large screen TV on the wall was a nice touch, only problem not really enough channels, but that is very minor. The bathroom was amazing, lovely big bath, big shower cubicle with power shower. Plenty of towels provided.

After a really peaceful quiet undisturbed sleep, usually at a hotel you hear doors crashing shut or people noise, got up and sorted and went down for breakfast. The staff were very polite and attentive, the breakfast, phew what can I say, amazing absolutely anything you wanted being all top quality, all served buffet help yourself style 🐷 had my breakfast at 09.15 am it is now 18.15 pm and I’m still full lol 🐷

All in all can’t wait to visit this superb hotel again highly recommended and for me 5*

Visited the spa last week (24th) as we'd been let down at our own hotel by having our treatments cancelled at the last minute due to sickness. Disappointing as it was a birthday treat. Went to the Daffodil on the off chance they may be able to fit us in. Whilst unable to book massages, we had a Rasul mud treatment which was different but amazing. The spa itself is lovely. The thermal pool, sauna and steam room were great. The tepidarium is a lovely place to relax and enjoy refreshments. All the staff were friendly and professional, but I must say a huge thank you to Ella. She turned our disappointment into a really positive experience and a wonderful birthday treat for my friend. We both really enjoyed our time there and wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you so much

Visited the Daffodil Spa this week for a lovely spa day and full body massage. The massage was carried out by Chrissy who was training. She carried out the massage perfectly and can honestly say as a nurse my back is very tense however after the massage it felt so much better.Chrissy made me feel comfortable and was very professional. It wasn't until the massage was over that she said she had only just started her training as she seemed to be very experienced.I would deffo reccomend her to others. After our spa we nipped in the restaurant upstairs for a lovely lunch.Think us nurses need a regular spa day! Well done Chrissy and others at the Spa x

User

Very friendly hotel from the word go, walked through to the spa and all the girls were so helpful, I had a fantastic full body massage off Daniellá, then went to use the pool, steam room and sauna, fantastic facilities, well worth a visit

User

This hotel is a real gem. The staff are all lovely as are the owners and management. This was a fantastic place to stay before and is just as good a place to work now.

User

The hotel was welcoming, great rooms, fantastic spa and pool and in a wonderfully scenic spot with great views

User

Staying at the daffodil at the minute, what a location !!!! Amazing room looking out onto the lake, lovely help your self breakfast 5☆.

Only down side is there, is no we're to park, we've been here a few nights now and it's always full, even the car park across the road gets busy. The staff are friendly and helpful, lots of nice finishing touches, we will defo be returning!!

User

Met with friends for Afternoon Tea, and must be the nicest one I’ve had. Fantastic choice of cakes, and scones, loved the cheese tart. Staff were so friendly, acknowledged you even when they were busy serving, top ups of tea and coffee, and iced water as a scorching hot day.

And a very reasonable price so don’t need a special occasion to come back. Thank you.

User

Me and my husband got married here 15th March this year. We couldn't thank the hotel enough for such a truly magical day, the service from ALL of the staff was brilliant.

I wish we could relive the day again, we had prayed for sunshine for over a year wanting so desperately to be married outside, however being the Lake District this is never guaranteed. The day of the wedding it rained but it was still an absolutely amazing day and just as beautiful inside.

Again the staff at the hotel especially Ashleigh, Katie, Nick and if my memory serves me right Aric (Eric) where absolutely brilliant helped from start to finish and got everything down to a 'T' in what we wanted on the day.

Thank you so much for such a PERFECT day would highly recommend getting married here to anyone.

User

Just had our 5th wedding Anniversary and decided to spend it relaxing at The Daffodil Hotel. We got a lovely upgraded room with a card and chocolates, and a glass of champagne with our evening meal. The staff were so welcoming and fantastic, they couldn’t of done anymore for us within our stay . Thank you for making our Anniversary special.

I was here for my brothers wedding, such a stunning place and hotel. The rooms where spacious and very clean. I loved all the art work around the hotel and all the little paintings on the walls. The wedding area was lovely and as it was a hot weekend it was lovely and cool. I found the bar quite expensive and not enough staff on for the amount of wedding guests there the friday and saturday night. The breckfast was fantastic the best scrambled egg iv ever eatten and the staff where very attentive. Over all i thoroughly enjoyed my stay and i definitely would recomend and stay again.

User

Had a wonderful day today at The Daffodil Hotel. The Champagne afternoon tea’s were lush. My Daughter enjoyed her marmalade sausages and chips. The Customer Service was excellent at Reception greeted by Charlie.

Nothing was any trouble.

We will be back, hopefully to stay..

Thank You!

User

Great hotel in great location. Rooms modern and extremely comfortable. We stay in lots of hotels and this is up with the best. Unlike previous (dubious) reviewer, restaurant served great food and drinks way after 9pm and staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Breakfast was extremely good too with the same helpful staff. Can’t fault the hotel and we will be back.

User

Very nice setting and the staff were very helpful, the selection given with the luxury afternoon tea is good, only 1 slight criticism is its all very sweet.

User

Location excellent staff were amazing so friendly lake view room and super king size bed wow,a few little down sides like no spin for a brew and no bath robes in the room but everything else was amazing definitely a place to visit again

User

I attended the spa yesterday with my husband. The staff were professional and friendly. The spa itself is lovely but could do with some TLC - the showers were clean but the use of shampoo and conditioner pumps hadn't been checked and some were out of use.

General paintwork around the spa required. The seat cushions by the pool need a wash as developing mould due to wet feet. In the Tepiradium dirty cups left behind - no real hot and cold refreshments in there such as milk, juices.

We did enjoy our afternoon but due to good competition I think this spa needs a little work.

User

Chose the Daffodil as a treat for my 40th birthday yesterday 31.3.18. Myself, husband, 2 kids & dog went for afternoon tea in the lounge area. I understand there was a wedding on and it was busy but this should not have deflected the level of service expected •nowhere to park...so had to pay more money across the road •husbands coffee went cold whilst waiting 20mins for sugar • my drink & kids drinks took a while ( only Diet Coke) • service was poor.. had to ask for items missing ie napkins. Very disappointed as we had been looking forward to this for a while, especially when we paid nearly £50. The food was lovely and fresh but too much ‘glue’ icing on them to stop them from falling off ...

User

Booked luxury afternoon tea as I had received a voucher for my 30th birthday, and I had bought a voucher for my mum and dad for Christmas. Afternoon tea itself was lovely, very well presented and very tasty. Service was a bit hit and miss. The lady who took our order took our vouchers away straight away, but the vouchers hadn't been taken off the bill. We ordered a pot of tea and I had to ask for this to be brought out as they had forgotten about it. Then, due to the lack of space on the table, the waiter was going to put it in front of my 1 year old daughter until I asked him to put it at the other end of the table. Would definitely come back but for a luxury hotel the service needs to be improved.

User

Not my cup of tea , Wasn’t impressed with rooms they are like premier inns but I think Premier inns are value for money this place isn’t , restaurant closed at bang on nine o clock tere for just a choice of 3 types of sand which not good , In all a diapointment I suppose the pool is the one saving grace ,Oh yes and no fridge in room hence warm drinks nothing comes up to standard and not has it shows on internet Disapointed !!!
