Manchester Central Library Sat, July 14, 2018 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Join us for an afternoon of reflection as we remember the genocide that took place in Srebrenica in 1995. This year, we will be looking back over the Acts of Courage that the people of Bosnian undertook to ensure the safety of their loved ones, as well as reflecting on how those same acts of courage take place today in other parts of the world, where the words "Never Again" have not yet been uttered.
... We will be joined by Dudia Zilic, a survivor from Bosnia, who will take us through her haunting journey, from the days of the genocide to Manchester today. We will also be hearing from Councillor Luthfer Rahman, who recently visitied the Rohingya and will be sharing his lessons from their camps. Talks will be followed by Q&A, as well as a chance to view a fantastis photography exhibition by Aisha Mirza, showing Bosnia through the eyes of one who has felt the pain of the people of Bosnia.
Limited spaces, so register quickly.

Missing book from Mosque Library.
Dr. Ibrahim donated this amazing newly published book to Eccles Mosque Library bookshelf in Ramadan. We believe someone took it thinking it was a free give away. Kindly return it as many people want to read it.

This Sunday 12-5pm ...family and friendship picnic in Heaton Park. We believe that there is a groundswell of people who simply want to bring our communities together and celebrate all that unites us.
We ask everyone attending to bring their own food and drink and if you can bring something that can be shared that would be superb – you don’t need to feed the 5 thousand just maybe those people sat closest to you - but no pressure either!
Bring your families, friends, footballs,... guitars, rounders bats and balls, whistles, drums, picnic blankets, flags, banners and plenty of red and white items – let us make this a real celebration in honour of Jo Cox with people coming together and celebrating diversity, difference and community.
