Went here for the first time today Sunday 18th February. Really lovely place. The food was fabulous and the service was second to none. We were served by a nice young lady called Chrissy who saw to our every need. Friendly , charming and very efficient. I will certainly be going back and will recommend to all my friends that they pay it a visit.

We visited the pub for the first time on Friday (7:30pm, two adults and a baby). The pub was exceptionally busy but despite the volume of work the staff were incredibly calm and attentive. We were so impressed. Henry, the tall Assistant Manager (didn’t catch his name) and Liam (Liam is owed an apology...!!!) were great. Thanks for a super meal x

User

Visited here 30th March for my nans 90th family birthday lunch. Well what can I say absoutley amazing service from start to finish the staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. We had to preorder our food due to being a large party so not a long wait and was utterly delicious and excellent portions. The lovely staff even surprised my nan with a trifle with a sparkler candle singing happy birthday. Thanks so much everyone you gave my nan a truly amazing afternoon. ďż˝

Many friends had recommended The Fishpool Inn to us so yesterday we went for a drive. We sat in the beautiful beer garden whilst looking through their modern menu. The food, atmosphere, surroundings & staff were all excellent. Would highly recommend & we’ll definitly be returning.

User

Just eaten here...As a vegan I was mega impressed with a full vegan menu with lots to choose from. And wasn't disappointed at all. In fact it's so nice to go somewhere and the menu has really been thought about and not just your regular often boring choices. This was exciting.

I had the strudel and my partner had the shepherds pie. Both were delicious. I'm about to try the lemon mousse dessert. (Update: loveliest dessert I've ever had - wow!). Again the dessert and starter menus had lots to choose from as well as the mains.

Thank you for really taking your time to be creative. Loved the paper straws for the cocktails. Again it shows it's a venue that is taking environmental and social issues seriously.

If you're not already registered with 'happycow' please do so. You will attract loads of vegans to try your delicious meals. I will also recommend you on there also.

We will definitely be back for more. Well done

User

I had my Mother’s Day meal here last Sunday. I can quite safely say that this is absolutely my favourite place to eat. The food is always spot on, the staff are brilliant and the place itself is nothing short of beautiful. I would recommend The Fishpool Inn all day, every day.

User

Family birthday here was fabulous, we had the most attentive and friendly waitress by the name of Clara.. we were not by any means easy. The food was lovely although we had a chip issue but Clara was determined we were leaving content and this she did. Extremely refreshing to give a comment and not get snarled at. We will always return here as it’s a favourite of ours, tip for management look after Clara she is a credit to you and deserves recognition! Thankyou to All.

User

Beautiful surroundings.Friendly staff. We went here for a family get together(belated Mothers day gift) As I am a vegan I was desperate to try something from the new vegan menu.I wasn't disappointed. The pinenut strudel was fantastic and I had to sample the choolate coconut desert, again I would throughly recommend! I will be returning to try something else from the menu.

User

Ate here a couple of weeks ago. I was very impressed with the full vegan menu. I was spoiled for choice and they also did my meals gluten free. Fantastic food and really nice place, will definitely be going again.

User

Visited for my mother in laws 60th birthday- location is lovely, the outside space was perfect for our children to run around whilst we waited for food. Shame it’s not got a play area.

We were placed sitting next to the serving hatch which we found was a little odd as I had told them we had 2 children and a newborn which we needed space for pram... the pram is a double and the only space for it was at end of table right next to the serving hatch. My soon is 6 weeks old so it did bother me having hot meals and drinks being constantly served next to him. There wasn’t enough room really and people was pushing into the side of the pram throughout our meal... it was hard to relax. We ordered 4 beef diners- served warm not hot. Portion size wasn’t enough for my husband but it was very tasty and we all enjoyed it. Kids meals are pricey for what you get but they enjoyed it too.

The staff were pleasant and catered for our tables allergies. There was a mix up with starters , service was slow, we waited around 40 mins to Receive it and when we did they all arrived at different times which wasn’t good and my sis in law who allergic to eggs was given the wrong ice cream- luckily she realised but the waiter who served her it was young and not clued up on its ingredients but our main server soon sorted it out.

I bought a cake for our special occasion- they did say they would make a big effort and all sing when they bring it out... only 1 person brought it out and sang... but my mother in law was happy with that so all good.

Iv rated a generous 4 despite some of our issues. We would visit again but maybe not when it was so busy.

User

And for Sunday with my husband only to find out that the toast potatoes are cooked in duck fat so that stopped me from getting this meal,me as vegetarians will not eat them if cooked in goose or duck fat. I opted for pizza which was lovely. Xx

User

Worthy of 3 stars.

3 of us visiting today, were told restaurant was fully booked not a problem sitting outside the scenery is idyllic lovey outdoor space.

Starters arrived swiftly and were perfect in fact faultless, the mains however another story, waited 35 mins between finishing starters and getting mains which incidentally had to be asked for after gaining the attention of a member of staff, the quality of the content was superb obviously sorced from a reputable supplier and cooked by a great chef, what I tasted was good but the 2 pie dishes we ordered were clearly left at the pass whilst the salmon dish was prepared so when the pies got to the table though all dishes were well presented the middle of the pies were hot the outsides were not but the salmon dish was hot had to once again get a member of staffs attention as throughout the visit the trained table checks were not completed.

Sadly let down on our 1st visit which was a birthday treat spending in excess of ÂŁ100 for 3 at table 100 you'd expect the service to be spot on.

User

Went yesterday for my Sons 40th Birthday five adults and Two children two had roast beef dinner not impressed with the Roast potatoes also my daughter in law ordered Lasagne and after waiting 5 minutes after our meals were served had to ask the waiter for hers even though we could see it on the Server

User

We walked in on a Sunday early lunch and was told it was busy but they would find us a seat but we could only have it for a hour ( think he might of been the manager and found his attitude a bit rude ) We were sat in the other end of the restaurant by him with what seemed to be the other kids and families away from everyone else.. our female waitress was lovely. Food was lovely but the service could of been better.

User

The food is delicious every time we go to the fishpool, it was just a shame when the chef gets very upset and starts shouting bad language because he wasn’t happy with a waiter. I’m sure that matters like that could be dealt with in another ‘quiet’ way especially when your trying to have a civilised meal with friends.

User

Sorry guys but a really disappointing return visit. Nachos used to be one of your best starters - now it’s soggy crisps in cheese sauce! My wife had the Red Thai curry, well enough cooked but sauce was really thin and no real flavour or heat. Decided to try the Calzone - again cooked ok but no real flavour and a shortage of cheese in a pizza! Was like a sandwich! Hoping it was just a bad day otherwise the chef has clearly changed - 5/10 instead of the 2017 9/10. VERY disappointed.

User

popped in on the off for a nice cold drink and some food after a long walk. The coke was warm & flat poured out of a bottle of Pepsi which probably only costs £1 to then be charge £6.50! We didn’t stay for food, Never been before and probably won’t be returning, first impressions and all that!!

User

This was our second visit, we had such a lovely Sunday lunch a few weeks ago we thought we’d go back with three of our eldest children, our table was booked for 8.45pm but we didn’t get seated until 9.15pm! No one came over to apologize, we took it upon ourselves to pick up m mud so we could decide what we were eating to speed things up. Once the food was ordered it was a further hour before we finally ate, one dish was the hot avocado but when it arrived it was tasteless and no sign of any avocado! The short rib beef was tiny and not what we expected at all. We were disappointed, tired and a bit fed up as it was now 10.30pm, I discretely had a word with what I think was an assistant manager, the manager didn’t bother to come and apologize or offer any discount in the meantime the bill had been paid in full. The person I had politely complained to was defensive and questioned my points which was unsatisfactory. As we were leaving he bought over a 20% off food next time which probably won’t get used now as sadly we may consider whether to go back which could have been avoided had the management been better!

User

Food was more than disappointing. The salad was literally a handful of rocket and a few slices of fatty steak. I sent it back and asked for more substance to be added to the salad (menu indicated carrot and celery, at least) it came back with even more rocket and nothing else. In the end I gave it back again and asked for it to be removed from our bill. Not worth ÂŁ13 at all!!

Well done

I had my Mother’s Day meal here last Sunday. I can quite safely say that this is absolutely my favourite place to eat. The food is always spot on, the staff are brilliant and the place itself is nothing short of beautiful. I would recommend The Fishpool Inn all day, every day.

Ate here a couple of weeks ago. I was very impressed with the full vegan menu. I was spoiled for choice and they also did my meals gluten free. Fantastic food and really nice place, will definitely be going again.

And for Sunday with my husband only to find out that the toast potatoes are cooked in duck fat so that stopped me from getting this meal,me as vegetarians will not eat them if cooked in goose or duck fat. I opted for pizza which was lovely. Xx

VERY disappointed.

popped in on the off for a nice cold drink and some food after a long walk. The coke was warm & flat poured out of a bottle of Pepsi which probably only costs £1 to then be charge £6.50! We didn’t stay for food, Never been before and probably won’t be returning, first impressions and all that!!
