We are thrilled to welcome US alternative rock band We Are Scientists to The Grand on Friday October 19th, part of their extended 2018 'Megaplexpedition' Tour.
We Are Scientists broke the UK live scene around 2005 when they released debut album 'With Love and Squalor' and earned a place on the NME tour along with Arctic Monkeys.
The band played Gorilla in Manchester, earlier this year and rarely make the break into the UK provinces, so we're naturally delighted that they hav...e agreed to make their debut at The Grand.

been to the Grand several times and it's a great venue, seen some brilliant bands, the place itself is a lovely space, not to big not to small.

the only issue i find is the que at the bar when the venue is busy

User

What a fantastic venue. Love the can bar and proximity of the loos. The staff on reception were so friendly. If I didn't live a five hour drive away I'd be visiting all the time.

User

Value for money in a spacious, flexible and exciting music venue where all sorts of talent and skill turn up to give fantastic entertainment - well worth keeping up with events - not always musical - the ladies romantic movies and meals also go down well.

User

The Grand is an excellent venue to go and watch groups or comedians in an intimate and comfortable setting.I have attended several different kinds of events there over the past couple of years .I have watched different groups, different speakers such as Brain Blezzard and Bob Champion and also attended the comedy club there.

I would recommend the Grand to anyone who loves a small theatre.

Last night was a bit disappointing as the singer of the group was not very good though the musicians were excellent...

User

The Crucible was an excellent production by such a young group of student actors. They performed the play 'in the round' on the floor of The Grand, with the audience sitting in a big square and some of the actors sitting on the front row among the audience-this meant the audience were totally involved in the action from the very beginning. A strong, very emotional production. Congratulations to all involved.

User

Reason for visit, The Breath 14/12/16.

Great lighting, great acoustics. Coffee at the bar. Very clean and surprising relaxing venue. I felt liked I'd had an intimate audience with the band. Well done the grand and it's volunteers, I will be back again and will look forward to it.

User

My first visit to the grand but will most definately be the first of many! The venue is great, staff are very friendly and t- rextasy were fantastic!

User

Great atmosphere and staff very pleasant long way for us from Durham but worth the trip oh yes and great set up for rock music too ty

User

Both Michelle and her mum Christine made us very welcome at the Rose and CrownThank you to Michelle for feeding myself, Stewart and Daniel at 5 minutes notice and thanks for hosting the Wishbone Ash tribute bands and providing great beer. Hope to see you again. As for the Grande a great gigging venue with excellent facilities and great location.

User

Amazing venue, helpful, energetic and creative staff. Love the events they bring to the area.

User

A gem of a venue in the historical town of Clitheroe. Saw Half Man Half Biscuit last night ... a coup of a signing .... great customer service from the staff sorting out an issue i had (my fault not theirs), now looking forward to The Skids in a couple of months.... keep up the good work bringing these great bands to our area.

User

A bijou miracle in the Ribble Valley - must visit venue for all sorts of arts and music events. If you live in the North of England and haven't yet, put it on your bucket list now

User

The Grand is a fantastic venue and I have been on several occasions to see live bands, pantomimes children's shows and an audience with.

It is one of the best venues that I have been to and there is not an issue with the positioning of the toilets and they are always clean.

The only gripe that I have is the beer pumps could do with having the names of the beers on so it's easier to select your tipple instead of either having to look at the screen behind the bar and wait for them to flash up or have to ask the bar staff what they have(they must get sick of having to tell people what is on offer)

PS please get more live bands on and not tribute acts!

User

Just attended Showaddywaddy paid for the more expensive seating tickets only to have our view blocked by a bunch of inconsiderate women dancing in the centre isle & the Grand didn't do a thing to stop them or have them sit down or even move to the side, many people were voicing the same opinion.

User

The venue has a great sound set up ,this however is offset by the toilets being positioned to the left of the stage and more troublesome is the raised bar positioned at the back in main auditorium where people gather to talk (loudly) whilst the artist is performing. At one point during yesterday's gig 4 people, who had been warned several times previously, were ejected from the venue. This did not deter others though! Shut the bar whilst an artist is performing and you might just have a better venue on your hands

User

Great acoustics and friendly staff. I echo the previous comments about the ridiculous position of the loos. This has not been well thought out considering the venue looks like it has had a lot of money spent on it fairly recently. Seeing the stream of people going in and out of the loos and hearing the jet powered hand driers going during a performance detracts from the artist on stage.

User

Good venue but absolutely awful service at the bar during the interval. Just three serving and one kept running out to fetch boxes of beer and wine. One male server with long hair kept favouring the young women who'd just show up and ignore other people further down the bar who had been waiting ages. Really disappointed.

User

Great new website: shithouse. uk

Accidentally bought 10 tickets instead of 5 for a gig that is in 4 months time. Surprise birthday present for my Mum. The venue has refused to help with any refund at all... You are supposed to be a community venue, not a large money grabbing corporation. Won't be coming back.

User

Absolutely disgusted with the behaviour of the door staff last night.

Last night one of my friends was drunk and she was asked to leave. She wasn't a horrible person, she fell over, she was asked to leave, that's fine, I get it.

However, you then decided to ask my other friend to leave because apparently she'd had too much to drink. She had two drinks, that was it, but for some reason she was made to feel guilty by association.

Instead of listening to her, you stood her outside, humiliated her, laughed in her face and made her cry. Did that make you feel big? I do hope so.

Because of this my night was also cut short, so 3 of us paid £20 each for half a show.

Apparently you don't do refunds. Well that's fine, take our money. I will never set foot in the grand again.

Thanks for the hospitality!
