What a lovely place, nice atmosphere and the service was great.

User

Well I went last night & the food was amazing & definitely be going again & it’s such a great atmosphere & the staff are really nice ❤️

User

Two of us had the carvery and one had a pizza, absolutely delicious the place looks amazing after the recent refurbishment. Service was excellent and the staff obviously well trained , we thought the food was great value and will going back soon, if Carlsberg did carvery then this would be it ÔøΩ

User

Really lovely family Christmas meal! Myself and my daughter had travelled from Hampshire for a family meal on the 22nd Dec , and the Hesketh didn't disappoint. Food was great, service was excellent, especially given how busy the pub was (thank you Karl our waiter), and the whole ambiance was lovely. Thank you very much x

User

Not been in a while but service was excellent in particular the chef who did the carvery such good people skills will be back again lots me thinks thanks

User

Just got back from a family meal at the hesketh, and had to post a review because it was outstanding! A member of staff called Charles went out of his way to help me find (vegan) food that I could have and even asked the chefs to make a special pot of veg without butter. Amazing food, incredible staff and a beautiful pub- will definitely be going back!

User

I visited the Hesketh after all my friends raved about how nice the food is and it was amazing! The service was really good. We bought drinks at the bar and on the way back to the table I dropped mine. The waitress quickly helped clear up the mess and came back to the table with another drink with no added cost to our food bill which I thought was really nice. It serves really nice food. Probably slightly more expensive than most other pubs for food but you get what you pay for. I have been back several times since ÔøΩ

User

I found it to be avery friendly place lovely people really enjoyed would recommend itto every thank you ÔøΩÔøΩÔøΩ

User

Came over from Ireland, had a lovely meal and drinks, great place, friendly staff good prices, would be fab to sit out in the beer garden in the summer.

User

Been coming to the Hesketh for a number of years and the service has been fantastic but recently since having my daughter we've noticed just how welcoming and friendly this place is. Lauren and Chloe are exceptional and a true credit to what the pub stands for!

User

We visited The Hesketh on Friday night for the first time although we have visited other Almond family pubs before.

On entrance we were pleasantly greeted by George and felt a good vibe throughout the place.

We opted for the carvery and the young man carving was very informative and promoted all the meats and dishes really well (not experienced that before). We were sad not to see a salad bar although I gusss this is due to lack of space; however we did not miss this as there was a large selection of vegetables on offer. In addition to the carvery there was a full menu.

The staff are all attentive and seem to be happy in their work. Overall we had an enjoyable meal which was good value for money. We will definitely be back.

User

Place, staff, beer and main course excellent. Disappointing sweet. Orio cheescake out of a box by the taste of it and served way too cold together with very runny single cream garnished with a 1980's Physalis wtf..... come on Hesketh sort this out we want American style propper cheesy cheese cake please without the unnecessary embellishments! Thus only a 4 out of 5 room for improvement.

User

Visited last night with a friend and the food was lovely. However when we came to settle the bill we were shocked at the price £30 for the 2 of us £12.50 for the carvey and £5 for 2 little bottles of coke. . I belived your prices would be the same in every pub. When we complained we were told they put the prices up when they are busy which has totally shocked us.

We regularly go to the 3 Bears in Hazel Grove for quiz night. This is a very popular event so do they put the prices up for food and drink because its busy. We wont be returning to the Hesketh again.

User

I booked a table for my friends who had travelled up from the South..considering we got there at 12.00 we all agreed that the food should have been hotter. The service is always good however after waxing lyrical about how great the carvery is I was disappointed with the Yorkshire puddings and luke warm garnishes

User

Gutted to have to make this review but ordered kids chicken nuggets and chips with broccoli (the only veg my child will eat). She ate all the chips which were lovely and most of the nuggets, I finished off her nuggets and had some broccoli...she then started to eat broccoli and said she wasn’t because it had ‘spiders’ on it. On checking this the stems of the broccoli had dead bugs not impressed as we both ate it!!! I went to show the bar staff who apologised and said they didn’t understand how it happened. I have my own coffee shop so totally understand how it’s happened, the veg wasn’t washed throughly. I appreciate no ones fault however made me feel slightly ill!!! Really gutted as it’s a lovely place

User

3 adults and 2 toddlers visited - very strange welcome from a young guy who looked unsure what to do to the point I wasn’t sure if he actually worked there.... service was ok a little strange but fine however the portions seemed extremely small to us!

The children’s meal of chicken nuggets was ridiculously tiny barely enough for my 2 year old and at £6.50 very poor value for money (there were 4 chips on her plate!)

The ‘colossal cod’ was very normal sized and although quite tasty very expensive for fish and chips.

Left feeling a little disappointed and a little hungry!

Lots of ppl seemed to be having roast dinners so perhaps we chose poorly but based on our experience we wouldn’t return.

Went today to meet up with friends and was not impressed to be told we have to be out for a certain time. After paying 50 odd pound for a meal for 2 adults and 2 kids I'm not impressed being told we had to leave. The food was not the best I've had either, the meat was a bit dry and the potatoes was hard in the middle too. Got fed up with the waitress taking plates as soon as cutlery was put down. Will not be going back again that's for sure felt hurried

User

Today's Sunday lunch disappointing nearly an hour queuing up ,the girl craving the meat didn't now how to crave the meat properly it wasn't slices of meat , just bits , and at £12.50 a head , I don't expect to pay that for a plate full of vegetables . The suday before we couldn't get a table so we sat at the small tables for two near the eating area , what a mistake the queue was that long the people were all standing by our table while we were trying to eat , but not their fault , me and my husband left our food , so another disappointing Sunday, Apologies to the girl craving meat i was rude to her she didn't deserve it sorry ,

User

I never expect great food on a carvery but for £12 you expect more than a slice of fatty pork as one of your two meats?! Food was average but main gripe was with the person who clearly had no clue about serving or cutting meat and probably had zero training so perhaps not her fault, but big attitude when I asked politely not to have the big fatty lump I was about to get. Not a great first experience and won't be rushing back.
