EGYPTIAN CROSS-CURRICULAR DAY
As part of the Enrichment Week, the staff and pupil went all out to get into the Egyptian spirit as part of the Egyptian Cross Curricular Day.
Pupils had the opportunity set the Egyptian scene by creating their very own pyramid, ... decorated the school in Egyptian style theme and colours, dress up In Egyptian outfit, taste Egyptian cuisine, haggle and use Egyptian currency, wrap their peers up in cotton (aka toilet paper) to make them into Egyptian Mummy's and have some Egyptian fun!
As you can tell, it was an amazing fun packed and interactive day for our pupils and also our teachers. What a great way to wind the year down!

THE FAB SHOW ON RAMADAN RADIO Iqra High, Year 7 pupils hosted The Fab Show on Oldham Radio Ramadan this Sunday. Pupils loved speaking hosting live on air and gave them real life skills of speaking in public and to new audiences. There were nerves and some anxiety but once the girls got on air, they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

OLDHAM INTERFAITH FORUM IN ASSOCIATION WITH PLANET MERCY U.K PRESENTS "Annual Interfaith Fast & Breaking A Fast Day" The Oldham Interfaith Forum has organized the annual Interfaith Fast-Breaking and Fast day on the 29th of May starting at 8.30pm. The evening will consist of a guided tour of the Madina Institute, the home of Planet Mercy, followed by a discussion on the practice of fasting in the various faith traditions and what it means to the faithful. In a world filled wit...h confusion ,hate and division, it's important we hold such interfaith events to come together, understand each other better and unite on that which is common amongst us. Kindly invite your non Muslim colleagues to partake in Fasting on the Day and breaking the fast with us, or attending generally even if you cant fast. We look forward to hosting you all. DEMOCRACY DAY AT IQRA HIGH SCHOOL To give our pupils an experience of elections, we had a Democracy Day at Iqra. There was election speeches by candidates and voting taking place. We also had guest speakers attend the day from the political world who could give real-life examples from their own experiences working in politics. The schools YOUNG JOURNALISTS interviewed the speakers and wrote their own reports to be published. IQRA HIGH SCHOOL CREATING TOMORROW'S LEADERS TODAY!

This Ramadan we want are helping make faith real by doing a variety of Ramadan fun activities to keep the excitement of Ramadan alive. If we are honest, the staff are enjoying this as much as the pupils!

GREAT NEWS: OFSTED INSPECTION MARCH 2019 RECOGNISES THE SCHOOL AS GOOD ACROSS ALL INSPECTION AREAS! Staff and students at Iqra High School, Glodwick, Oldham, are delighted as the school receives a consistent grade of ‘Good’ across all inspection areas. The inspection carried out in March 2019, included observations of lessons, observing behaviour, looking at pupil’s work and interviewing pupils, staff, proprietors, governors and parents about the school. Alongside this questionnaire a series of focus groups are being run to explore and describe the perceived reasons, barriers, and incentives to increased physical activity, as well as ideas on inter...ventions/ preferable activities that people feel will increase and sustain physical activity/Exercise.
