Went to this place for the first time to try the speed quiz on a Wednesday night - would definitely recommend you try this, it was great fun! A lovely atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and a fantastic selection of cocktails and ales. We be visiting again when next in Ambleside!

Went in last night for one drink after dinner, ended up staying the whole night, then going back tonight for the quiz. Had a great time both nights, the staff are really friendly, the drinks are very reasonably priced and although we didn't eat there several people on the tables around us did and the food looked amazing. Would definitely recommend that you stop by if you are in the area.

We're in Ambleside every couple of weeks and always pop into The Lily whether it's for a quick drink like yesterday (gorgeous vodka and tonic with lemon and a sprig of rosemary) or a full meal which never fails to impress. We started coming the week it opened and have never been disappointed.

We visited last night of our 3 night stay in Ambleside. We had a main course from the main menu and thoroughly enjoyed it! We were too full for pud, which looked good too. Definitely be back. We only had an Old Mout cider each, not big drinkers but seemed to be plenty of choice

We come to Ambleside often and love this bar. They manage to combine traditional with modern in a way that is perfect for us. Good beer and wine and lovely food in a very cosy atmosphere.

Spent the last few nights in Ambleside and this place was recommended to us by some local people. We have been in both nights during our short stay and both the food and atmosphere is brilliant. I highly recommend the chicken and leek pie � Live music both nights was also entertaining. Keep up the good work �

Fantastic little bar - lovely warm atmosphere, great selection of ales and gins and the food is to die for - best burger hubby had ever had - please can u clone your chef...?!

Fantastic bar, brilliant staff, they knew what they were talking about. very helpful. We stayed in one of the rooms upstairs and it was very nice and clean, couldn't ask for better.

Little touches like a little torch topped it off. (The torch came off in my pocket so I'll have to visit again to take it back)�����

Nipped into this lovely, atmospheric bar for a couple of drinks. Good ale and perfect rhubarb g&t �� Didn't eat but most people were. I'd def recommend going in to see for yourself. Enjoy!!!

A pleasant bistro type pub, dog friendly as are most in Ambleside. Food is of a reasonable standard and quite a varied menu. Very friendly staff.

The food is outstanding but service and customer happiness is NOT first priority!



My partner and i went tonight for the early bird dinner, got there for 6, quick service for a drink sat down and ordered..... next minute 6 men in a party came in and was quite loud and language was awful, there was young children from 4-12 around and swearing was coming out left right and centre!!



As we was served out meals i said polite to the waitress with short hair if she could tell the men to lower the volume as 1. we was eating 2. the conversation wasnt suitable for all ages.The waitress agreeded with me and said "sure i will do" as she walked off she said NOTHING! we was sat close to the bar and my partner watched her approach the bar where the men was and not once did she approach them or even say tone it down!



i have worked in hospitality for many of years even up in windermere and this was not lake district service!



Food 10/10

service 2/10.



Wouldnt recommended for younger adults due to lack of respect for young familes and people wanting to have a quite night out in coulples.

Poor poor poor. Cloudy beer in dirty glasses served through autovacs which is basically slops in a glass. Real shame a new bar has decided to serve their beer in this disgusting way
