We had a lovely meal here last night , to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary .

Food and service was exceptional. Would definitely recommend a visit. We will be back ÔŅĹ

This was a lucky ' real find ' for us. On our way back from Scotland. Lovely room, great evening meal and a superb breakfast. Great staff, especially the lady with the screwdriver, which I gave back, to help with the radiator. Would highly recommend the Mill and will definitely stay there again.

This has been one of my favourite places for years. Consistently great food, which is locally sourced, never disappointed with a thing. Fantastic value for money. The staff are so friendly and professional. I love going for a walk by the canal too. My first memory of the mill is going with my grandad when I was around 4 years old, and now 30 years later I take my own kids for the occasional treat.

The food was well presented and was very nice . The staff were Pleasant a well presented . The Venue was clean and spacious which is good when you have two dogs and a pushchair . We were able to position ourselves in a separate room away from other diners by choice without feeling we were isolated . I would recommend this to all whether you have canine companions or not

Stayed here friday till sunday with my husband and my king charles spaniel Teddy for a wonderful birthday treat. What can I say, absolutely loved it, staff so lovely and helpful and very pet friendly, room lovely, would like to have tried one of the luxury rooms but unfortunately only few rooms allow pets, but pet accessible most areas which was fab. The food was absolutely amazing, my compliments to the chef, beautiful meals on Friday and Saturday eve, also breakfast was lovely too, even Teddy got a sausage :) which he was thrilled about. Hotel spottlessly clean throughout and set in a beautiful location.. all in all cannot fault the place and will definitely be visiting again soon, highly recommend this place to all. Many thanks for a lovely weekend and see you again soon xx

Never eaten here before but wandered past plenty of times on walks down the canal. Finally got chance to see what all the fuss was about and we were not disappointed! Excellent food, wine and service!

First time visit. Enjoy the surroundings and the food was good too. Nice walk along the canal

Fantastic food friendly staff and amazing location

As usual welcoming homely greeting and chat with receptionist before given keys to room. As we have been here before we knew the lay out and made our way upstairs. Great double room overlooking the fields and canal spur. After we unpacked we reserved a table for 2 then walked to the Stork Inn for a drink.

Dinner was excellent with good hearty Lancashire themed food and local produce. Quiet in the hotel so after a long last drink we retired and had a great peaceful undisturbed sleep. The following morning we were given another great meal this time a full English breakfast although my wife had an excellent help of haddock with poached eggs. The food is always excellent, served promptly and in a restaurant overlooking the lock on the canal where swans and ducks swam lazily by. Funny bit was when 2 other swans tried to muscle in on the resident swans and were "deterred" by lots of wing flapping and hissing! Back in the spring 8r summer methinks!

Absolutely delighted with this little gem! The area is beautiful for a start, and I wasn't disappointed with my short stay. The staff went above and beyond, and were so friendly and helpful. Little things like the cats made it a real home from home, and the bar meal I had was delicious! The hotel was spotless, and the room lovely. If I'm back in the area I will definately stay again. Many thanks!

What a beautiful place ! Saw a huge heron, a hare, ducks and fields of sheep all around. Very helpful friendly staff and we had a great dinner and wonderful breakfast. Would have given it 5 stars but we were missing a set of towels and had to ask for them but very near perfect even little biscuits to go with the coffee in room.

The food at the mill is delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. We had a lovely lunch and will go back. Hopefully next time the waiter will let my friend put her spoon back before lifting her dessert plate...........having said that we understood he was young and learning his trade so did not complain.

The Mill is a beautiful place. We booked a suite, which was beautiful but I did expect more toiletries, shampoo, conditioner etc, and we only had shower gel and body lotion. Also for the price, I did expect a bath robe. My daughter was in a family room and she said the bed seemed smaller than a double. The food is amazing so every credit to the Chefs. The younger staff are extremely friendly and very professional. The Gentleman who served breakfast behaved very awkwardly and was quite rude to my daughter, when she requested that we could take our breakfast outside because a member of our group was very unwell. She was told we would have to take it out ourselves and bring everything back in when we had finished. It was the way she was spoken to that we found quite offensive and we understand that it might have made extra work but you would think he could have been more empathetic rather than rude. Such a shame because everything was perfect until this happened and I'm sorry I cannot make the review 'Excellent' because of it.

Stay for Burns night weekend in January 2018. The hotel is superb decorated beautufully tbroughout and rooms comfortable. Unfortunately, the food did not make the grade with over cooked haddock for breakfast and even over cooked eggs would you believe! The Burns night meal was passable although we were both ill the following day with bad stomachs? Would not book for mass produced meal event again. The staff where all friendly and helpful apart from breakfast when we were not greeted with a smile and told to find ourselves a table then had to wait 40 minutes for our breakfast to arrive that was down to the waitress standing around talking instead of concentrating on her job. Such a shame how one member of staff can reflect badly against the hotel. Still we had a lovely weekend went into Lancaster for a meal at the Waterwitch, very nice.

Compared to our last visit in June last year completely different lovely food and pleasant service. Drinks are way too expensive. Still one of the very few places that still charges for soda with wine, come on!

the place is lovely it did rain so couldn't sit outside which i think would have been great because of where it is i was just disappointed that they didnt have a lot if choice for me as i am gluten free although they had bread which was ok there is so much on the market for gluten free frozen ect that can be used the deserts it was ice cream or chesse it is nice to have options the waiter was very good he did try to be accommodating.

The food is great and I really like this place. Have been coming for years. That said I have been waiting for an hour and 45 minutes for a burger. The staff are working hard, but this is just not worth it. Just want me check and to leave
