Well my first visit was long overdue so off we trotted for a lunch

On arrival the fire was well and truly alive and was very welcoming

Great choice of ales from the thwaites range

Menus were placed on table for us to peruse over and the fish of the day was explained to us

So choices made

Starters

1 crab tian,1 beetroot risotto and 1 seafood tempura

Mains

1 pork belly , 1rack of lamb and 1 steak and kidney pudding

Puddings were

2 Lemon and lime creme brûlée and 1 sticky toffee apple pudding

The crab needed a cracker or bread that was the only issue with the food and one of the servers decided to place the mains cutlery down on the table while we were eating the starters .... little niggle as this could of waited

Will I return YES you bet your last dollar I will , so much so that I’ve already spoke to others about Dates they are free to go

We had our mums 80th birthday 10/618! Absolutely fabulous food and service. A huge thank you to Chelsea who is the reason we booked and she was true to her word x You and the team are a credit to The Millstone .

We go every year for our wedding anniversary and its very nice, all staff are lovely and very helpful and friendly, its the perfect place to go for a special occasion. The food is excellent looking forward to go again this year !

We ended up at the Millstone after thinking of somewhere different to try for lunch and it didn't disappoint. I opted for the beetroot and sweet potato burger and my hubby decided on the fisherman's platter. Both meals were freshly made, looked fab on the plate and tasted incredible!

Even though the menu choice was limited, I would highly recommend and will return in the future ��

We came here last night after the food being recommended. It certainly beat expectations. The pub is lovely and clean, the staff were friendly and happy to help, the menu was great. Then came the food, beyond perfect melt in the mouth steaks cooked to perfection the sauces were to die for too. Can not wait to come back again!!

The food was delicious and the stafff very friendly and helpful. The Milstone is one of our favourite places to dine.

Spent a couple of nights down here, rooms where we’ll presented clean and the staff where great company also the food was really nice. �

Slightly disappointed with last night's visit. I have been several times before and it has been great. So I wanted to take some friends. Unfortunately this time wasn't the case.



We were booked in for 8pm and when we arrived there was a mix up with our booking. When the full party arrived we subsequently weren't seated formally, so practically seated ourselves to find dirty cutlery on the table. Our starters were perfectly fine, we moved onto mains and the steak pudding was undercooked, therefore wasn't eaten. The deserts were ordered and took 40 minutes to arrive (the time was 10:40 by this point), and prior to this we had already decided to leave. Hence the 2 star rating.

Myself & my husband had a lovely stay here for my birthday,sat outside in the afternoon,quiet,very chilled.We had an evening meal which was very good!service/staff/room all great!would definetly stay again.Would highly recommend!😁👍🏻

Just been for lunch today really nice place, service was quality and staff were great, food was excellent just a shame we were both too full up for dessert will definitely be coming back to try other dishes from the menu and desserts �

First time we have been here and from the lady who showed us to our table (the best spot in my opinion - right next to the fire!), to the lady that attended to us during our meal to the food itself - we couldn't fault any of it. We will be returning in the future to sample the other options from the menu - we strongly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

Fabulous welcome and gorgeous food. A lovely menu that inspires you to try things a bit different. Thoroughly enjoyed the flat iron steak from the October specials menu which was highly recommended by the very knowledgeable staff. Very tasty tempura seafood starter and a very nice merlot meant that i didnt manage to fit in a desert which looked very tempting. Hoping to go back soon to try more.

Excellent meal here with my wife last night. So good we booked for her 65th birthday party.

Service was also excellent with both bar and restaurant staff being very friendly and efficient. Nice range of beers.

The bar area and restaurant have an excellent ambience. Highly recommend.

Beautifully decorated, friendly staff, I had the fish dish for starters and it was even better than the hotel we stayed at in Torquay. We had a meal for mine and my wife's fifth wedding anniversary. We will return without a shadow of a doubt.

Always a warm welcome and great service from the Millstone team. Accommodation is very comfortable and rooms are maintained to a high standard. Food is excellent with plenty of choice available from daily, weekly and seasonal specials. A very relaxing and comfortable place to stay.

We are locals and have previously been in the Millstone regularly.

However last night we called in for a few drinks and were shocked to be charged £8 for one glass of wine. Needless to say we didn't stay for a second and this probably explained why the place was so quiet.

Was here before it was refurbished and the food was amazing went again last night and it isnt of the same standard i am sad to say. Dont think i will be going again even though the staff are wonderful and it looks beautiful but if the foods not to the same standard theres no point really.

A very clean warm and friendly pub. Staff were smiley and efficient. I had the beef and the size of the portion was impressive. Everything was tasty but In my opinion the beef was cut too thick and was too chewy. Would go there again though.

Staff friendly and smiley but alas service let this venue down, waited above an hour for food to be served, then 2 of the orders wrong but we were then soooo hungry we said we would accept what was brought to us, or we would have had to wait for our correct order to be cooked, the food which we had was good , one of our party who had wanted to go to this venue then informed us the same thing had happened recently with a friend of there’s waiting an hour and 15 mins for a starter this is not good and needs to be addressed ��

I,ve spoken to three of the ladies that went for this meal all stated food good but portions small, seemingly we all went home and had something else to eat, and before anyone comments about our size we are all between a size 8-12 and not greedy�I know the place was full but where they running out of food when we were served ??
