User

Well worth a visit, the food is excellent and all staff were very friendly and helpful

User

We popped in to the Mitre for our last drink I found the staff friendly and polite

User

We popped in for some lunch on a Friday lunchtime. The pub was quiet and we got served quickly. We ordered a club sandwich and a tuna melt. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. For a start there was loads of it. It was fabulously tasty and it came with a beautiful salad garnish and coleslaw. We shared some chips and couldn't finish them. Well worth the money.

User

WOW! Just popped in for a spot of lunch after my exams at University. The best fish I've ever tasted! Lovely atmosphere with such a cosy home-like vibe . I definitely recommend

User

Tuesday night's will never be the same again. fantastic evening with lots of fun and laughter

User

The detail of unsatisfied customer reviews led me to believe I was staying in a dungeon for the night especially with probably the cheapest room in the hotel. Most of the reviews could not be further from the actual truth, this hotel is chilled and pleasant, the staff were very detailed and assertive plus polite, and the room was absolutely fine. I feel that people look for faults almost out of a self obliged duty to leave their mark of the experience. The hotel has been refurbished and looks well decorated, the bar is modern/stylish and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would also recommend the mitre hotel to anybody going to events near by as it is right in the heart of Manchester.

User

Not been in the Mitre for a couple of years it’s changed quite a bit nice & bright had a voucher for fish n chips & a bottle of house wine the staff were lovely as was the food will definitely go again

User

Lovely meal today with family really nice place will definitely be back

User

Always a good vibe when I go in and staff are always very friendly

User

Absolutely wonderful the service was amazing and a very special thank you to Rafa in the bar.

Hope to see you soon

User

The food was lovely, best and biggest Greek salad I have ever had. A shame the music was so loud, it was painfully loud , asked if it could be turned down which it was for about 10 mins before being turned back up. Even though the food was lovely would think twice before going again because the music too loud to enable you to have a conversation.

User

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Good specials, fish and chips, plus a pint. £ 10. It was really nice too. I can highly recommend it.

User

Lovely staff ,who were helpful and polite. Tasty and good value evening meal, and a clean and tidy room to stay in that had comfy beds and all you could need for a short stay.

Just a few minor issues, as there were some items missing from the food menu when we ordered ( alternatives quickly offered, at no extra cost ) , and our food did take some time to come . Also when I ordered breakfast they brought me something I'd not ordered. However they were apologetic , and gave a full refund and so can't fault their customer service at all. Definitely a little shabby -chic , decor wise , but we found it homely and welcoming and would both recommend it to our friends. The location is perfect as is centrally located - and for the price I think it's a bargain !

User

Great location that is all. Room 12 im serious need of.updating the bathroom is horrendous aa are the windows

User

Massively overpriced..for an avarage little bar in the town centre

User

We booked a room last Saturday to celebrate my birthday. As soon as we opened the door we were greeted with the smell of sewage. There was drink stains up the walls, Exposed rusty pipes, rusty shower, and everything was just generally unclean. We walked straight back out again and complained, all the maintenance man said was ‘sorry mate it’s more of a place for a lads night away on the piss’ delightful! Not what was advertised to us! We were told to email the manager for a refund and when we did so all we got was insulted! They informed us they ‘don’t do’ refunds but would give us 30% off in future after a refurb. How’s about no! Completely unprofessional! I can understand not giving refunds due to last minute cancellations etc but when the reason we didn’t stay was due to the state of the hotel I think a refund is appropriate. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

User

Stayed at the mitre hotel 24th march. Check in was all ok. People who worked there very nice.

Once we got into the room that's when i noticed it was nothing like the photos on the website, the shower door came off its runners whilst my husband was in the shower! The water only trickled. When yiu flush the toilet or have the water runny its make an awful noise, stains on the bedding, stains on the ceiling! As it was above a pub the noise didn't stop till after midnight. Had people banging around and making noise at 4pm in the morning!

My worst night in a hotel ever! Really didn't think it was worth what i had paid and didn't look anything like the photos.. This was for my 10 year anniversary with my husband and it really let me down...

User

Location was fantastic.

Con's.. How long do you have?

On arrival we entered via the downstairs bar and restaurant, which was beautiful, we had to ask where the entrance was as there was no signs to direct. When we located the entrance we were buzzed in and met with the grubby stairs leading to the reception. There is no lift and no porter so we had to struggle up the steep stairs by ourselves.

Reception was unclean and in need of a complete make over.

I cannot stress enough how dirty this 'hotel' is.

If i had had the extra money i would of opted for a different hotel, it was my daughters birthday after all and we had been travelling all day.

The receptionist wasn't the receptionist so had difficulty getting us booked in but she was very nice and polite. When we met the receptionist she was very pleasant and engaging giving us our key and so on. On our way to the room its hard it ignore the grime, decoration and smell.

Me and my 15 year old daughter were put into room 34 which is located next to the entrance stairs and next to the stairs leading up to the other levels/rooms in the building. At first glance the room seemed adequate enough for our propose. On further time spent we found hairs and stains on the mattress, chipped paint, filthy bathroom (which wasn't really a bathroom) the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable as were the pillows. The room was stifling warm which didn't help the smell. Their was a fan provided but this just blew warm air round (no windows).

Decoration, if you could call it that, was unfinished in the room. The toilet bowl was grimy and we didn't risk the shower after the state we found it in. The grout is a disgusting colour which could easily rectified with bleach and a bit of elbow grease, in fact the whole place could do the bleaching, it'd certainly smell better! The single wardrobe was 'plonked' in the room without being attached to the wall so when my daughter opened it it almost fell on top of her!

We stayed on Friday so we expected some noise due to it being over the weekend but what we had to deal with was beyond a joke, neither myself or my daughter slept for longer than two hours a time. We were awoken constantly to being over heated, groups of people in and out up and down the stairs shouting, arguments and so forth.

I felt very sorry for the night warden as he tried to control multiple situations on his own. We heard EVERYTHING as the walls are paper thin, the door dosnt close properly either so you have a constant stream of light in the room.

This went on until past 6 am the Saturday morning.

After a comment made to the receptionist about the noise i was told 'Manchester on a Friday night, what do you expect?'.

We left disappointed, extremely tired and very dissatisfied. Not only with the service but the entire experience. Hardly the birthday trip away i had planned!

My daughter had forgotten her new headphones in the bedside cabinet and we only realised when we arrived home later that evening. I rang the hotel and spoke to a very distracted man who informed me after he made inquires to there whereabouts of said headphones he would call me in the morning.

I did not receive a call so i rang back this evening and spoke to another lady who told me that they dont do 'return calls'. Which i found odd as later in the conversation she told me she would ring me the following day.

Anyway i challenged the lady as she said nothing had been found but if the cleaners had in and done their jobs surely they would of been found.

She would not allow me to have the name of the manager or to even speak to the manager to lodge a further complaint.

User

Location is great! That is all that is great as well.

Staff is unattentive, impatient, borderline rude and will gladly tell you multiple times they are going to solve your issue right before they go back to doing anything but that!

Please make note that when booking the 8 persons appartment your group does not include anyone with back problems or other physical issues. Since 3 of you will have to sleep on couches. (Altough promises will be made of matrasses arriving later. These are all lies.) The "door" to the bathroom, which functions as a corridor to the bedroom, has no actual door in it and resembles more of a secret "achterhuis" passage which you will have to force yourself though.

Also take into account that you should really be comfortable with each other in the group since this bathroom corridor to the bedroom houses the toilet. Great way to get to know all the smells and views of your group. When not prone to exhibitionism, please reconsider...

Calling this a bathroom also requires some imagination since the lack of doors is accompanied by the lack of a shower in general! There is one poorly functioning bathtub, in which you can take turns with the 8 of you.

All these complains unfortunately fell to deaf ears, the reaction from Mitre was that they never mentioned in their advertisement that they had a shower! Wow, such wow.

Tuesday night's will never be the same again. fantastic evening with lots of fun and laughter

User
