User

Went for Sunday lunch today, was delicious and great value for money! The mash was amazing as were the roasties! Staff friendly and attentive and the pub and toilets spotlessly clean! Will definitely be back

User

Watched the Arsenal v Chelsea FA Cup final there yesterday. Great pub to watch a game, friendly efficient staff, plenty of TV screens, decent large screen down the back and the Guinness was spot on 👍It was a bonus for me that Arsenal won the cup ⚽️🏆

User

Top notch chips, fish & peas. Bread & butter with tea for 2. What's not to like. Great service and lovely staff

User

Thank you to the staff at the nelson who kindly decorated the pub and reserved seats for my friends retirement bash. We had such a good time. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

User

Nipped in for the fish n Chips after an early finish from work.

Superb. Quick service and a nice pint to wash it down. Definitely recommend.

User

Love this pub, quick service! Ideal for our Saturday afternoon drinkipoos while watching the sports scores! Fish and chips simply scrumptious too🍽🍽

User

I had fish and peas. It was beautiful the fish was lightly battered and tasty peas perfect. I would defo go back, what topped it was great company too.

User

Great location with plenty of good Stage Management Action through out those taking part within the performance being offered.

Easily kept up with the offer and Music being made by those involved, to every one's satisfaction and enjoyment, within those watching.

User

Good friendly atmosphere, enough tellys catering for different sports, would say one of the best in town and reasonably priced beer.

User

Came in yesterday for some lunch! Pub spotless and great value lunches! We were served by a young gentleman ... Adam I think was his name! Very friendly and chatty, great service and friendly atmosphere

User

Best fish and chips in st Helens by far staff are always smiling and very fast service always go there when in town

User

Always go for fish and chips love it but went for dinner Sunday and it was gorgeous x

User

Very good split and fish nearly as good as the legendary Bears Paw and Blaylocks

User

There is a broader menu now, I love the paninis and jacket potatoes. Good atmosphere pre match. I haven't been in unless there's a game of rugby though

User

Not to many pubs can boast a genuine chippy dinner while relaxing having a drink. A bottle of wine from £10 Chablis for £15. The staff really helpful my fav pub in St. Helens town

User

Great venue for all things football and horse racing.Plenty of TVs to watch and great friendly staff to keep you supplied with the amber nectar!!

User

Well I might have liked it if we could have got in. Went with sister who is in a wheelchair. Couldn't get in because of step. Went round the back all locked up. Spoke to a customer who apologised saying it was all locked up and only access was front entrance

User

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THIS!!

Just had our lunch in here, the food was lovely & the chippy staff were too, but I'm afraid we left with a bad taste in our mouths..

Im presuming she was the manager (slim, blonde hair, tattoo on arm), her attitude was disgraceful.

Storming around, shouting at staff, shouting on the phone to someone & then muttering "f-ing pr**k" for customers to hear after ending the call.

Speaking to a group of elderly women like they were something she had stood in and shouting how everyone can wait as she is very busy.

If this is how the pub is managed on a regular basis I definitely will not be returning.
