We held our Bike Club 2017 Christmas Lunch here on 17 December. The restaurant is very atmospheric and cosy, especially on a cold, wet Sunday afternoon. The staff were really friendly and attentive and the food was first class. Am pretty sure we’ll be back again!

User

We came to the pen and pencil for brunch following seeing the internet reviews. The breakfast was fantastic and we were looked after so well by Katie that we did not leave until gone 6pm!! Would highly recommend if you are in Manchester.

User

Today's brunch at the Pen and Pencil was gorgeous. I went for the eggs royale with a few added extras of asparagus and cherry tomatoes, and it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had the sliders to which he loved too! Can't wait to return. Next on my list is the beetroot salad I think (...and hopefully a dessert!). Great friendly service and booked via email with ease! Thank you.

User

To all the staff at the pen and pencil have a great day James security

The cajun chicken burger is easily the best chicken burger I’ve ever tasted, loved it

User

Sat in Pen and Pencil listening to Fleetwood Mac, Alanis Sting and Roy Orbison eating a smashed avocado sub with fennel slaw. Real food. Thank you Pen and Pencil, you got it.

User

Listened to a set last night from Dr Packer absolutely brilliant, the pub and staff were very good and the cocktails are bang on.

User

I love this place! Great food and a laidback atmosphere, never feel like we are being rushed to free up the table. Perfect place to blow off the cobwebs of a hangover!!!

Super friendly waiting staff ...the chap who looked after our table today was just fab! Didnt catch his name but thank you!!

User

I did a Google search for Brunch places and this came up. 4 of us went for Brunch at about 10am on Sunday. We didnt book but managed to get a decent table.

It was amazing!! We loved everything we had.

Eggs, mushrooms, spinach & cheese - totally Moorish. Eggs Benedict and steak & eggs - fantastic!

Espresso martini thing - Great!!

Flat whites could have been a bit stronger!

Service very friendly, very quick, Great!!

We will defiantly return and would recommend it to everyone. We'd like to try lunch or dinner too!!

User

Have to say, the best brunch I have ever tasted! The baked eggs were gorgeous! The service was excellent even though it was a busy Saturday , the atmosphere warm and welcoming, we'll definitely be coming back! Xx

User

Had a brilliant time at the pug cafe, held here yesterday. The staff just couldn't do enough for us and our three pugs and would recommend the cafe to anyone.

User

First time visit on Saturday lunchtime with my daughter. Lovely welcoming staff and a great friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We ordered food and my daughter's sandwich wasn't quite what she expected. The waitress was so professional. She spotted something was wrong and came straight over to check we were ok. She said if my daughter simply didn't like her food it was no problem at all for her to choose something else. We didn't do that as the sandwich was fine my daughter had just missed something in the ingredient list when she read the menu. It was so refreshing. The staff just wanted everything to be right. All was great until a group of very, very loud obnoxious women came and sat at the table next to us. The poor floor manager looked mortified a few tables of 2, like us, decided it was time to leave at that point!!! They took over the bar and were far too loud and pushy. You could tell the manager looked sympathetic that we felt we had to leave because of them but they probably spent stacks of money so fair play!!! We'll be back again though. Thanks a lot and well done all xxxxxx

User

Bottomless brunch was amazing, 100% recommend. The service and music were perfect. The drinks and food are lovely....best Saturday in a long time. Highly recommend, so fun.

User

Been here for brunch twice now, came today for the eggs pen and pencil, and were more than happy to swap poached for scrambled eggs. The food was delicious! Would definitely come again!

User

A group of us did the bottomless brunch for my hen yesterday everyone was very impressed the food was great every single dish we had was lovely good selection of food and drinks definitely better than others available in Manchester the staff were great although we probably weren't the easiest of groups thanks for a great day!

User

A good Saturday night out in this pub a good atmosphere helpful staff and good solections of beers and largers well worth a visit if you are in that part of Manchester

User

This place used to be amazing. But the new menu absolutely sucks. Basically a choice of 4 burgers and some overpriced sides...£4 for 6 chips.... seriously???? As much as I liked this place it’s off to somewhere else I go

User

Lovely place, really nice waitress. But 30 minutes later food hadn’t arrived. The kitchen hadn’t received the order and we had a train to catch. So disappointing. I thought it would be a place we would end up regularly, as we are new to the area.

User

The staff here are rude! The atmosphere is bland and I’d avoid this place (!) and visit Tariff and Dale instead.

Ordered two lager shandies and was charged £12. Bought a separate pint at £4.50.

Maybe the staff here need to use a ‘pen and pencil’ to recalculate their prices, and sort their attitude out at the same time! It stinks.

After all “that’s just the way it is” said the cheeky bitch behind the counter.
