We were so lucky with the weather last Sunday when the garden opened for the National Garden Scheme. It had been the one sunny day in a week of steady, and sometimes heavy rain. Sitting at the gate, doing the tickets, I heard such wonderful compliments about all our gardens. We all had different things to offer and are great examples of city gardening and communities getting together. We raised around £450 in our garden alone and I know the others did well too. Christine Ruth, who works so hard coordinating these openings is very pleased with what we’ve all raised on this early June opening. We’ve all got the September opening to look forward to. Four more of our lovely gardens will be open for the scheme and fingers crossed they have lovely weather too!
