Well there were plenty of people last night who 'weren't afraid of no ghost'. Fantastic fancy dress and a great audience.
Who's coming to Labrynth next Friday?

After floating in space for 57 years, Lt. Ripley's (Sigourney Weaver) shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team. Upon arriving at LV-426, the marines find only one survivor, a nine year old girl named Newt (Carrie Henn). But even these battle-hardened marines with all the latest weaponry are no match for the hundreds of aliens that have invaded the colony.

User

Scientist Clayton Forrester (Gene Barry) and Sylvia Van Buren (Ann Robinson) are the first to arrive at the site of a meteorite crash. Soon after, an alien war machine emerges and begins killing at random. The Marines are called in, but they're no match for the aliens' force field. Forrester and Van Buren, however, are able to wound one of the creatures and procure a sample of its blood. They take it to Los Angeles where they hope, through testing, to be able to discover the aliens' weakness.

In Santa Mira, California, Dr. Miles Bennell (Kevin McCarthy) is baffled when all his patients come to him with the same complaint: their loved ones seem to have been replaced by emotionless impostors. Despite others' dismissive denials, Dr. Bennell, his former girlfriend Becky (Dana Wynter) and his friend Jack (King Donovan) soon discover that the patients' suspicions are true: an alien species of human duplicates, grown from plant-like pods, is taking over the small town.

Wonderful to see this building being fully utilised. I often go for a mooch around the eclectic stalls. You never know what you might find! The cafe on the first floor is an absolute must for a visit. Excellent food and service at very reasonable prices. Top that with a visit to the cinema and watch your favourite film in authentic surroundings. Glass of wine, popcorn and settle down for a great night πŸ˜€πŸ‘

What a lovely old cinema. We went to see Whistle Down The Wind on Friday. It was our first visit, the traffic was bad & we arrived 5 minutes late. We were allowed in & to pay at the end so that we didn't miss any of the film. It was a wonderful film;just as I remembered & the setting & atmosphere perfect. The icing on the cake as we left was to meet 2 of the original cast in the foyer for a Q&A session & photograph. A perfect evening! Thank you! See you on Friday. Sharon.

User

Went to see Top Gun. Great experiencing films in such a kooky and fun atmosphere, miles removed from the multiplex experience. Can be a bit cold so bring a coat but that shouldn't put you off.

User

Went to see Pretty Woman , the whole experience was great , to be sitting in such a beautiful old cinema was amazing . The refreshments are extremely well priced . My only slightly negative comment is that it was very cold in there , so wrap up warm .

User

We watched the goonies and loved the atmosphere and staff lovely, a bit cold so bring a jumper and a cushion as the seat made my bum ache but the nostalgia and surroundings make up for it

User

We hired the Regent for a private showing of my boyfriend's favourite film for his 30th. The Regent couldn't have been more helpful, even ordering in pizzas and playing the music we wanted before the film started! Would definitely recommend for a special occasion. Thank you, Rick! β˜ΊοΈπŸ•πŸŽ¬

The perfect setting to watch a classic Christmas film in this fabulously restored old cinema. Sensibly prices drinks and popcorn on sale in the diner throughout :)

User

My daughter and I went to see Miracle on 34th street . The whole experience was wonderful. That cinema took me back to my childhood. Nostalgia overload. The staff were an absolute Joy. Already booked to see It's a Wonderful life. Excited already 😍

User

Loved β€œIts a wonderful life” last night, a Christmas treat from my daughter. We both had a brilliant night, a little bit of nostalgia for me. Lovely place, lovely people, highly recommended.

User

Love that they're using this glorious old building to show films again. And the selection is smart - quality mainstream but nothing you'd see at the Odeon.

Why not Friday AND Saturday nights?

User

I had a wonderful evening last night at the Regent Cinema in Blackpool. I haven't been to the pictures for approximately 30 years but it brought back all my memories from the time that I went with my first husband, about 50 years ago. The regent has been completely re-furbished in it's original style. There was a little table between each of the seats and there was plenty of legroom so that I could fidget! The back row had Love Seats and the aisles were wide enough for my son to escort me, side by side.

We had the front row of the balcony so that I was near the beautifully updated, clean washroom and toilets. These were in keeping with modern times!

The cafe was selling a good variety of drinks including wine at very cheap prices and snack food such as hot dogs and popcorn, all at a reasonable cost.

I would love to go back in the daytime as the Stall's space has been turned into a sale room of many stalls selling bric-a-brac, antiques and vintage clothing.

Thank you Pip for sharing with me ,your special surprise and treat to Andy. His all-time favourite film, 'It's a wonderful life'. It was a surprise for him, and a lovely gesture from Pip to include me.

It was a memorable night for all the right reasons. Thanks Pip xxx

Had a lovely evening last night seeing The King and I. The staff were lovely and all friendly and helpful. The venue itself is beautiful. Was great to see the film which was very good. Highly recommend trying out the The Regent and will definitely be going again.

User

Great restoration job on a fabulous old cinema. Really enjoyed the whole experience and a nice personal touch instead of the usual multiplexes. Classic movies too! Loved it!

User

Came last night to watch one of my hero's, Mr Charlie Chaplin in the Gold Rush, and I wasn't disappointed. It was like going back in time to my favourite cinema as a child. Well done to all involved in the restoration of this beautiful old building. Can't wait to come back x

User

Came last night to watch Grease had such a great time loved it, all the staff were really friendly, the seats were really comfy loved the little tables in between the seats for drinks and seats. Can't wait to come back couldn't recommend it enough!!!

User

Brilliant opening night. Congratulations to Richard for all the hard work. Looking forward to Casablanca on 12th and the Chaplin film later in the month. Great if you could get some of the live theatre & opera performance links from London - it would be a great place to watch them.

User

Been to watch cinema paradiso tonight, fabulous film would recommend even if you've never fancied watching a foreign language film. The venue is fantastic, food and drinks really reasonable, so much better venue than those horrible multiplexes that rip you off. There are some good films scheduled over rhe next few weeks, make an effort and go. Would really like to this place to stay open so please try and support this really good local venue. We are going again next week to watch Physco.

User

Absolutely brilliant halloween πŸŽƒ night priced reasonable staff nice... very cold ❄ so bring a jacket but it adds to the eerieness of it. Really forward to going again will not hesitate to visit again full five stars x x

User

We went to see Amelie tonight. We've seen it before as it's such a wonderful film. The seating in the cinema is comfortable with plenty of leg room. The staff were friendly and helpful. I do hope it's successful. Blackpool is not the easiest place to start something up like this. Let's hope there will be plenty more films in the future.
